Well guys, she's done! finally, I am exhausted after painting her and if i'm honest I could keep painting her! there's just so much to her it's ridiculous. But I had to look at the whole model and I realised I had to pull it together as one entity which was easier said than done lots of different tones and metal effects are featured throughout the model from oiled leg pistons to worn rubbed metal and aged or burnt metal which lends the main skeleton a darker ancient look but still fairly clean overall which is a nice effect when put beside the brighter armour plates and gold banding, I love the orange/red metallic it looks stunning in the light. Also there wasn't an airbrush in sight! she was all brush painted after a spray primer

I have taken a HEAP of pics and you get to pretty much see them all mainly because I couldn't decide between which ones to show the different finishes and parts, there's a lot to take in, so I'll dump some images and let you enjoy the journey! also spot where the target lock readout is sending her!

Not much more to add really. 'Wow' I always admire people who are able to stick this long to a single (albeit huge) mini, my attention tends to wander all over the place.

Looks great! Only thing I'm not sold on is the writing on the shield thing on the main carapace. Just doesn't match the reset of the filigree covered fancy pants look.

Thank you so much everyone! I am pretty happy with her, but as I told Gits, it would be easy to spend 12 month on her just pushing the details and scrollwork etc. so i kinda had to stop myself from going too nuts, but I think it's a perfect balance of show and game and no doubt she'll turn some heads when she hits the table! i'd say my favorite part is the fact I did it with a brush, it makes her look different and shows you can do anything when you set yourself a goal! I did have a few weeks of burn out but once I got back into the swing it came together very quickly, I might have to buy some FW models so I can maybe win a WarLord to paint next

Cheers Whaley, i've got two weeks off work starting Monday, so i want to get some things done. like I mentioned I've got Asterion for you and myself to paint ans Curze, gotta finish wave 2 of Nurgle which is nearly done, then I need to paint my kitchen and sunroom and grout the new floor tiles and splashback and assemble and paint the Alpha Legion models to see what I can do with their scheme!?

Anyone probably in Aus that wants to buy my SWM Battlescapes table? I'm thinking of mixing it up and doing a new board? i'm already working out things to try when I re do the buildings :-) should make for some fun experiments!
