Nice update monkey , sorry to here a bout your comp :-(

Looks like you have been having some bigmek fun. Like the cylon concept , looks like some of your smaller stuff , but a lot more powerful. I was thinking that thesentinel trukk cabin looked like something from star wars , then i realised it was .Lol, he needs a bowcastor now. Its actualy a pretty good trukk design , sorta , ww2 meets sci fi .

Thanks for the book porn , thats an immpressive IA collection and both realms of chaos , you greedy man ;-)

Wow! Your fighta bomma made from a old Cylon raider kit with the engines from a Valkyrie, and the AT-ST cab for the trukk with Leman Russ bits for the track section, very nice and looty looking!

shingouki - I hope so

neil - orky know how has fixed it...for now. I popped to the shop earlier, when I got back the PC had booted itself Obviously I'm a bit concerned it might not re-start tomorrow, but hey..
I like the fighta too, still having qualms about abandoning that build of the Turbo Triffik though, not like my usual happy-go-choppy approach.
Figured it was time for a bit more bibliophilia, maybe I'll take shots in front of some of the other bookcases soon

shaso - Nope, pay attention That's a fighta you see there, the fighta-bomma uses the rest of the raider But is all but unseen as that's pretty much all it is at the moment, needs the cockpit to be done before it can proceed, and I plan a detailed job there.

OK, so PC came out of standby this morning so that's good for the moment.

Painting wise various nobz and others slowly edging towards that fabled finished state, but no changes worth posting really.

Model wise mainly just little bits blu-tac'd here and there, nothing that really warrants further investigation to be honest. But the spanna-boys have been hammering away at the trukk the towed in the other night. The rally final is less than a year away now, need to get on it, especially as I plan some other entries too

(with added softcore bibliophilia - you know you want it you dirty reader you)

Wheels/axle, boarding plank and the track guard thingy are all just blu-tac'd placeholders for now. Well, those wheels aren't placeholders, they will be the wheels. Deciding on the suspension/steering mechanisms now. I'm not planning wheel guards so the gubbins will be visible, and I'm thinking it needs to be a step up from the simple bits the buggy got. Possibly have the suspension coming down from those side cannon mounts.
The back has a split level design to make it easier for the boys to clamber over to the boarding plank , they only has short legs you know.

The cut-outs in the hull will be filled with worky wotnotz/grotty goodness/boarding bitz. Underside still needs to be put into place too, weapon mounting (probably in the gap between cab and left tracks), and decide whether the rear will get a tail-gate/ramp/something.

Now, stop reeding dis an' go get ya trukkz in shape. Dey don' fix demselves ya knows.

It's kind of almost central in regards to the outer tracks

The double tracks on one side do throw your perceptions off somewhat, it does certainly look 'wrong' from certain angles. Which I kinda like

It's also off-putting when trying to align the wheels

moonshine - Thanks dude

sennacherib - Thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed your visit

neil - Half-tracks FTW Gil would be signifying both I think As for good old Aldous, Antic Hay, Jesting Pilate and Doors of Perception are just out of shot/focus. Now stop watching that TV thing and put your beak back in a good book. Unless you're watching some Ghibli of course

Little hobby time (or even dakka time) recently, but a few days off next week should help to rectify that situation, in the mean time here's a quick filler..

Fighta moving on from blu-tac stage. dakka to go by the cockpit area and on the wing 'tips', still working on the final design of the back, and deciding on the tail-fin.

Bit of riveting on the trukk

And concept for 'Yaaagh-rikk'. We ain't leting no pesky 'umie loot our bitz. Need to find some thing beter than a skull for the gun, maybe try and make a grot skeleton using the old plastic skellies.

Hopefully there'll be more piccies later....

the fighta looks so retro cool with the wings of the cylon fighter! i am eager for more shots, maybe with a lick of paint on that...

somehow i am not so sold on the trukk...maybe it i because of the asymetric tracks...otherwise i cant put my finger on the point why....

but boy am i glad to be back^^

So, Yarric had his arm cut off by and Ork, and then killed that Ork and took his Bionik Powerklaw arm to replace the man's missing one.

Did Yaaarork have his arm cut off by a bionically repaired Imperial Guard with a Powerfist, and kill that guardsman, take his arm, and replace his own missing one with it?

Yarrick had his arm cut off by an Ork, and then killed that Ork and took his Bionik Powerklaw arm to replace the man's missing one, then yarrick cut off a different orks arm and the ork killed him, taking the klaw.

its a visious cycle

bigfish - Thaaaaanks

neil - Cheers, yeah, can't let those darn 'umies get away with looting orks, it's just not krikkit.

vik - Glad to have you back safe and un-sound of mind Also glad you like Yaaagh-rikk and the fighta, but I can't say when you'rs going to see any paint, you should know better by now
The aysmmetry of the tracks and the cab do makee the trukk look 'wrong', but that's why I like it, Orks don't have the same sensibilities as 'umies after all.

Anvildude - "So, Yarric had his arm cut off by and Ork, and then killed that Ork and took his Bionik Powerklaw arm to replace the man's missing one. "
Yep. Then this Ork cut off Yarrick's looted powerklaw and took it back in the name of GorkaMekka - can't let 'umies get away wiv nikkin' orkses stuff.
That's why Yarrick got re-released with a different-style PK

Oh, wait...that was this one:

Yep, some right-minded ork cut his new stolen arm off too, took that back home I'm guessing we'll see a new Yarrick released soon...

And then we'll take back that one too

prototype - almost, didn't kill him though, just took the arm back. See above

Gathering Storm - Thanks man. The skull was just a place-holder to show the gun was going to be similar to Yarrick's old one with the monkey-skeleton wrapped round it, it was easier to find than a hollowed out grot skelly, surprising non?

prototype - Hmm, interesting, but that kind of means he's been deadeded, I kind of like the idea of just chopping the offending arm off time after time till the old man realises he's not going to keep whatever he takes from the greenskins

And from out of nowhere zooms an early star of the show, making a surprise appearance with a new look:

Not much more than the basic red down, and the gunner's still wandering around the back of the workshops looking for his arms. Well, not exactly wandering, more dragging himself about by the teeth as he has no legs. But he knows where they are...gone. he's just mis-placed his arms.

Well, not exactly by his teeth either, he doesn't have many of those left. Or indeed a mouth to keep them in. Not much of a face at all to be perfectly honest with you. Let's just say he's squirming around the back of the workshops, looking for his arms. That should cover it.

ever read some books of pratchett? sounds like you brits have a sense of humor that was spread out with a big shovel^^ or to put it in another wording: like^^

and the yaaagh-rick and yarick squabble reminds me why orkses are the most and best species to get more lovin....they are the true spirit of recycling! that and the never encounter a thing to gross to not use over and over again... if all else fails they just use it as literall connonfodder^^

and now to something completly different...*puts on serious barterer face*

so what about some interrest for some dusty orkses of mine? could make `morrow some nice and shiny pics of me stuff to let you oggle over...??? should i?

Cypher's Sword - Cheers! I thought it was Orks+treads=Natural way of things

neil - That's a Homebase brand red spray over a still wet black undercoat then hit with a liberal layer of old GW magenta ink. Variations on that are the basic red for the vehicles, think one of the buggies got red ink, the other got a mix of red and magenta.

shaso - Skorcha But I notice I forgot to mention that in the post, guess I was expecting peeps to remember year-old concepts

vik - I feel he let himself down there a bit...went to all the trouble of building a 'speeder, then drives it dressed in a tracksuit and baseball cap.
Yep, the British were given a sense of humour to keep everyone else entertained whilst the cats took over the world.

And yes, I'm up for some swapsies

shaso - well, wot I gotz iz.... err, less dan dat.

Arakasi - 'Hello, hello, what's all this painting? We'll have no colour here, this is a modelling blog, for modelling people.' No, that's not paint, look at it, that's just a model that got caught in an arterial spray during a nearby horrific yachting accident.

*looks around for tumbleweed orkmoticon*

weety - See, we get a better class here on Dakka. If this were a lesser forum we'd have had someone using well in place of Horatio.
That arm will rend again, don't worry

vik - weety's or Arakasi's? They were both inevitable

And so for tonight' small attraction we have another returning contestant, this time with a slightly re-worked appearance, and even dare we say it, a spot of....paint.

Gave him a new head, replaced the robocop arm with one to grasp some wiring with. The yellow looked better until I hit it with some yellow ink to give it a bit more kick. The ink made the different layers stand out more from each other, c'est la vie. Almost done, quite pleased as he was still in bits earlier today.
