Armoured Kurmpany Reporting in!

Welcome to my new army log, as my forum name is Waaagh Baron, you got to know I love the Greenskins. To be honset I love tanks, I love scratch building, Kitbashing and making that post apocalypse stuff. Now for a some light head cannon fluff of the army:

8th Armoured Krumpany, is a DeathSkulls unit/army that is a comprised from the looted wrecks scavenged from the battlefield of their endless Waaaghs across the stars. The Goal a completely kitbashed scratch built army. If you love watching a crazy man with his plastic toys make custom models welcome.

So the Krumpany consists of two completed builds from made from looted Leman Russ Hulls:

And Meet the new recruit, a landraider I got from friend in the local gaming group. I can hear a spacemarine player screaming in the background but it's Krumping Time!:

I began by breaking own the Grey Knights Raider, then I started cutting it down, the goal a Macharius like model, to that end I need to shorten the track height and lengthen the segment:

Next I glued them to a base core part of the tank and began adding custom track:

Each track piece is 5 sub parts, 1x C Channel, 3x Tube & 1 Rod..... yes 5 subparts, 40 tracks per side..... 200 parts needing glue together, I'm Insane.

Yeah it does look good, but they were missing something so I added more things Rivets! Took a bit.

Thanks! I hope to keep folks interested.

So update, after the small task of putting tracks together, both sides, 80 tracks total (40 per side) but dang it looks good:

I've roughed out the hull and started work on a forward turret, and yes that is part of a Valkyrie my bits box is large and odd.

Close up on the finished track segments, I used a 1/8" hole punch & plastic cup to create these large rivets.

Next up is the turret and more bulking out of the model. Then the long detailing process begins with rivets.

Well Dang its one of those dreaded double posts but here's my days work on the MORKcharious:

I built a turret and detailed it so now all I need to do is add two sponsons and detail this monster out:

Close up on the turret:

Also added the hull mounted Double Dakkaaa (Heavy Stubber)

After reviewing the photos I think I need a better lighting setup, ahh well next time maybe.

Thanks for looking and as always

I like the little box turret on the front, with the bit of rotation. I need to start building my own guns, buying big shootas can get expensive.

The lighting set up isn't terrible, at least for WIP shots. If you can get a second, identical light source it should be better for those final shots.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

I hope you don't mind if I steal that tank track style. When I get home I'll pass across some grot tanks I made from various designs. I really should touch them up.

Mate you are absolutely mental. The attention to detail is incredible in here, managing to capture both the Imperialness of the looted vehicle and the orkiness of the looting.

I love it - every bit of it - please keep posting!

Thanks, also here's my advice on big shootaz.

First buy this: https://evergreenscalemodels.com/collections/14-polysytrene-tubes/products/217-rod-assortment then you got all the subcompents of the barrels, also power drill for drilling the holes unless you hate yourself.

Loot my ideas as much as you want I'm using this: https://evergreenscalemodels.com/collections/14-35cm-opaque-white-polystyrene-channel/products/267-250-6-3mm-opaque-white-polystyrene-channel its a bit large for normal sized warhammer track when it comes to going around the tighter wheels.

Yeah I was hoping to grab what an ork could actually fit in and give it enough Dakka

Thanks, also you got to use the God Father quote when it comes to orks:
Just when -you- thought -you- was out, they pull -you- back in.

So build stage is done:

Easy part is done, the painful part starts. Personally I hate painting but I am trying to get better at painting.

I wish I'd thought of it as well, an old friend of mine 'CrayolaSmoker" from another forum came up with it.
Here's a link to his old blog post: http://buildpaintplay.blogspot.com/2014/02/flashback-friday-armored-krumpany.html

So scrapper is taking shape, I added a grabby klaw for repairing vehicles. Also got to get that loot'n chain for dragging the good bitz off.

Fantastic work on both of these so far. Painting anything bigger than a troll is a labour of love. By the look of what you've painted so far I can see it's going to be well worth the effort.

Patience, now thats a word. I'd have used insanity. THanks!

I really need to get back to painting making some time for it this weekend I hope.

So in a change of pace I'm going to some terrain for GorkaMorka, a fort for my mob I'm going to start building. I want a water tower, so I got myself one of those blank Christmas Decorations and started orkifying it:

And why yes that's paper, its a foreign medium for my builds but folds nice to the dome.
