Nice checker board work all over that jet. I have tried and tried to do checkerboard. No matter what some one says, it isn't easy. Mine always looks like a kindergarden kid did the paintjob for checker boards.

Thanks Martin!- No it is nOT easy...however, the new foundation or base paints cover well enough, that fixing them is a bit easier.

Here are this week the release of some flying vehicles plastic at GW. I bought a plane ork. About this kit: First, this kit is of excellent quality. The leaflet is comprehensive and error-free, installation is thereby greatly facilitated, especially since the box can be mounted three different devices to choose from, with modular positioning fins, a diversity in the appearance wings, and a choice of glass. Tip for dakkajet: Note that it is not shown how to add the super-extra dakka on dakkajet. There's two options: use the basic weapons of Blitza wing (but it changes the silhouette of the aircraft) or insert the dakka supernumerary entries side reactors. This is the best number of clusters / price among the new features: three for two clusters in the Stormtalon and Nightscythe. So there is promise of rabiots (Bitz or if you prefer), and this promise is kept. Indeed, it is entitled to a few head of pilot ork grot and used more, and a turret and cabin additional plates. Parts I mounted two military models orks up, and being painted.
Note a few touches of humor in the kit, as the central pad and the anchor chain for landing (who spoke about realism?), The son of the electric cabin, some of which are cut, the driver and his scarf flies in the wind (so cliche), the turret to the big fling Blitza Bommer whose firing angle is reduced to the rear stabilizer ...
For painting, I followed the same pattern with two dominant colors (blue and white) for the Chassa-Bomba showed there shortly. Missiles and bombs are red, and I added some black and yellow chevrons on the wings and fins to break up the color code. Canopies in red to add a focal point. Some views of the pilot and grot:
Then ends with a joke.
Assembly time: 2 hours. Time to paint: a very big day (12 hours).
Ok, I paint very fast. Blame the XP accumulated over twenty years.
No Filipinos or Chinese in my cellar, Mr Pestilus.

That's a really nice job on the checkers. I'm going to have to try out the new GW paints then. I'm out of white and black paint anyway (except for my Tamiya which I don't particularly like) so this is an excellent time to give it a try.

I think the Abaddon Black will replace my all-time favorite Polly-S Steam Power black from now on. GW really made the right decision with the new paint mfr.

I just looked at the paint range. The washes are now called Shades. http://search.games-workshop.com/search?locale=us&keywords=shade
No Dev Mud, no Ogryn Flesh, no Griffon Sepia, no Badab Black. Great. Now I get to figure everything out again.

The names don't mean gak..they never did- Badab black was always just black, now it is nuln oil. They are just the same basic colors.

Just got my Bommer! Has any one else noted that of all the races in 40k, the Orks understand the rule of aerodynamics by using a rounded leading edge on their wings?
The Imperials all use wings as straight edged as a wall!

Yay! I\m cought up on this thread now! I've missed so much..
The lasgat looks freaking ace Dave I just have to let you know that.
And the orks are top notch. Just amazing. Love the checkers.
The one thing that I was wondering was if you are going to attempt to pain some sort of pin-up on it. Or maybe a pilot crest? I had also thought that you could put differnt stamps on him signifying his kills. Little tanks and planes?
