Also the one rubric marine on the left, second from the end, has a flaming icon of some kind, but the placement seems odd. Like it was tacked on.

I mean it would make perfect sense for Russ to come back...this is like the most major thing to happen to Fenris since 32K.....

I wonder if Ahriman has a detachable base or if he is stuck on it. One could always buy 2, use one as foot Ahriman one on disc, use extra disc for another sorcerer.

Looks like an immense release, gonna hold off on it though for another month or a while. I want to see what is happening in january before I commit to anything. As I already have a backlog of BoP and deathwatch overkill. If the sisters of battle do end up coming out, i'll probably opt for them instead. Before I do anything though I need to slow down and make more money.

Abandon’s nascent 13th Black Crusade whose opening moves were described in Traitor’s Hate will be getting into full swing in 2017 and will be breaking out of the Cadian Gate and setting course for Terra.
Magnus the Red is only the beginning, look for some other Daemon Primarchs to gather their legions and follow the Warmaster onto the tabletop with minis.
They WILL be opposed by certain Loyalist Primarchs who will make an unexpected return with minis to boot!
Look for more Imperial sub-factions being added to the game. Chaos must be stopped at all costs.

The John French trilogy (and the shorts that went with it) are brilliant BL-fare. That and ADB's Talon of Horus and his Nightlord trilogy are a good showing for the Legions of Chaos. I hope for more in the same vein going forwards.

it seems like the Primarch Daemons are going to be following the Abaddon i.e the Warmaster of Chaos

then the first one is going to be Russ, it only makes sense that he would be the one to oppose Magnus invasion of Fenris

Rubric stopped the Flesh Change, not necessarily ALL mutations, nor daemonic gifts.

You forget, the Rock is present in the Fenris system. The Lion is said to be there. What better savior to th wolves than their "friendly" rivals the Dark Angels.

Soooo are we fairly certain then that there will be no new Thousand Sons codex and just the Warzone Part Deux book?

I think its all up in the air. Who knows whether there is a Codex proper coming or not. There will be for sure new datasheets for the Thousand Sons units though.

Hopefully no different than the forge world ones so I don't have to buy some twice.

The data sheets for the Tyranids release had them in the campaign supplement and as free downloads, iirc, pretty much upon release.

I could see The Lion being the one to fight Magnus, being the first loyalist to come back as Carnikang said

I like the way it announces loyalist primarchs making an unexpected appearance, how can it be unexpected now? Quick, the loyalist primarchs have been released, everybody act surprised?

I think he meant unexpected "in universe". With the wolfen so heavily mutated, would a dreadnought-sized wulfen Leman Russ not be cool?

It looks odd from the angle of the picture, but I think it is a backpack icon, just with the tall head crests it blends together. I like the look of the Rubricae marine a lot, except for their backpacks. If I was building any, I'd swap them for plain Mk IV ones.

Unexpected in that Khan will be the first one back, on a stolen Dark Eldar jetbike. Well, Venom he converted into a Jetbike that would fit him.

Honestly, no. Murderfang is a ridiculusly stupid looking model, and the Wulfen kits are rather sub-par in how far over the top they have gone. No more werewolf junk.

I'd rather see him remain pure, and have to see his sons mutating, giving him a nice mirror to Magnus.

So after decades of "No, all Rubrics get is Bolters, no options", they get special & heavy weapons AND a CC unit? that's a pretty big 180 from GW

Not saying that's a bad thing, I'm glad GW are rethinking some of the old adages these days, and the 1ksons release gives me hope for a future Death Guard release at some point

Wow, when it comes to chaos I'm a diehard Iron warrior, but it great to see 1k sons getting their own range as opposed to just a upgrade sprue and their story line expanded. Big props to geedubs and I'm genuinely excited to see what they'll be sporting stats, points, and rules wise. Maybe they'll be legion that brings chaos back to the competitive scene?

In any case excited to how warzone fenris ends and hopefully the other traitor legions getting similar love.

What is the Wulfen that people keep talking about?

It'll be interesting to see if that is a rotor Cannon or assault cannon, since only loyalists had assault cannons during the Horus Heresy.

Actually 1000 sons DID get equipped with assault cannons pre-heresy.

Really? Which book is that in, as the places I'm looking right now say Imperial Fists and Blood Angels only.
