The plot thickens.

Good news everyone, the land Speeder came 2nd in the 40k single miniature section of the competition and is now on display for anyone in Edinburgh to see in person

And for that i got a certificate, thats all...pretty boring really. First place wasn't that great either, all it got was a guardsman glued to a paint pot that was sprayed gold

pretty crap prizes, pictures will be up tonight of the new guard I promise.

First we have the sentinel that has been seen unpainted, more colourful now :







Next is the Veteran squad I am working on. They have been serving for near ten years and under the command of the tenacious Sgt. Gorfan they have never lost a man in combat since their founding (plenty of casualties but no deaths, all have returned to the squad fighting fit within a month!) Due to this they have achieved the nickname of Lady Luck's *******...!! Needless to say, the commissars are often found meting out punishment for this discontent!

The sarge lost his arm when fighting in the Northen Hive cities on Scarth Dale against the last ork invasion. It has taken a few years for his body to accept the prosthetic and regular visits to the medical bay during tours do not sit well with him.

Sargent Gorfan looked across Riza bridge to the desert beyond, to either side a large chasm fell away, the perfect defence to all but the furthest range of cannon. Outside the gatehouse the sandstorm raged. Guard duty, Gorfan cursed it under his breath, he shouldn't be here, he and his men were meant for the front where they could take the fight to the emperors enemies, not sit here defending these impenetrable walls. His left hand itched and he moved to scratch it but his hand came upon cold steel.He cursed again and muttered about the metal limb that had caused so many problems. A painful cramp was startign to form where the metal meged into his shoulder...never a good sign. Looks like it was back to the medicatium two streets away for more painful prodding and painkillers.

With a curse he went back to cleaning his beloved bolt pistol and left the storm to wear itself out.

Ohh...close, the plasma gun was actually a SM one but i'll let it pass , the head was wrong hpwever, keep guessing...

Sentinel pilot head then?

Its not the quantity but the quality that counts?

I love the conversion work on the sentinel, but I think the back end would look amazing with some differences in colour, maybe a drybrush of Tin Bitz or Brazen Brass, or maybe just dirtying up the legs would work.

This thread prompted me to come out from lurking.

hmmm...perhaps, but then Da Dark Angelz are much further ahead than the Red Shields, you have 10 pages! But hey,this is over 100 postsnow so Im catching up Arakasi...watch out!!!!! I like the dedication of working out the % as well, cheers (work must be really boring for ya).

Not much, been a bit busy with the school play, lazing around now exams are over, and having a casual game at the store (some weeks ago).
I drew with blood angels (lemartes is fething solid!!!!) he slaughtered 19 guardsmen by the end of the game. Although his devastators failed to destroy 2 sout sentinels that roamed the board (not doing much)

You've been improving, that's great, you're moving away from dry brushing and into more realistic highlighting keep up the good work. Little advice, add a small amount of blue to your black, it makes it much more realistic.

jeez just went through he thread love the flak armor on your men! Looks really good! And the Leman Russ Looks great! So does the sentinels! Like the conversions too! over all great!
