where am I? *looks around* Well i'm...errr...I...I...don't know!

Okay, so it's been a bloody long time without updates....things have pottered along slowly and now that my exams are over (oh thank you ) I can get back to the Red shields wholesale! The plas veteran squad is finished, aand a hunter-killer missile has been added to my scout sentinel (HF armed). An order will also be placed today for a bane wolf, chimera and leman russ eraicator (I'll be well on my way to the mechanised list, woot!)

So, expect more over the weekend....

where am I? *looks around* Well i'm...errr...I...I...don't know!

Alrighty, exams are over and I've finished a squad of Veterans (minus basing...that can be done at a later date...)
So:

Sgt. Moody; Youngest ever promoted sarge in the Cadian third, promoted at the age of 19 (althoguh that was some years ago now) he has led his squad with considerable success especially in recent years during their fighting on Mond, a world with many cities and large manufacturing areas, where mechanised advances have been the deciding battles against the orks...of recent a new warboss has emerged by name of Morgrim whose forces have met Moody in skirmishes across the outskirts of the capital Ky.

Plasma gunner Sealre: A local, older man that was inducted into the ranks after fighting in outer reaches of the Mondar system. He was given a plasma gun after working as a plasma technician before joining. Already he has proven himself a capable shot (rarely overheating ) althoguh other members of the squad are somewhat tired of his over usage of grenades and his shouting due to going slightly deaf in one ear (he refuses to get an implanted augmetic till he's gone deaf WHICH HE REALLY ISN'T SO STOP MOANING!, his words, not mine).

Plasma gunner Bernt; Once a farmer's boy, he joined the guard on a whim although still likes to be outside a lot. He has told the rest of his squad that he will only shave when his plasma gun malfunctions...as you can see there is little stubble there.

Plasma gunner Grenth: Not much to say about Grenth. He is Cadia born and bred, never really fancied the "glory boy 8th" so instead joined the 3rd. A popular member amongst the squad he is rumoured to have his eye on Moody's spot when the grizzly Sarge snuffs it. No sign of that happening soon though. (trie to do some OSL on him...not sure about it, any comments?)

Veteran Carth: Although he doesn't look it, Carth is over 50. He was the sole survivor from a regiment after an attack by renegade marines in the Scarag wars. Always grim and unsmiling, Carth would be an outcast if he hadn't saved so many of the squad at one point or another, including Moody! He likes to wear no helmet in a vain love of his still coloured hair, showing off to the rest of the "old timers" in the division. Unsurprisingly he's not always the most popular lad about camp.

Veteran Mikal: Still comparatively young for the Veteran squads of the Mechanised division, Mikal has been nicknamed "lucky" ever since the squad and their chimera were stuck in the desert due to a lack of fuel and he stumbled upon two full cans. such brilliance would surely never go unrecognised...

Vox Operator Hass: Hass is a stalwart soldier. He has served with Moody for sometime now and has been a confident comms expert. He is popular among the squad for his constant swearing, and his ability to hack into the colonel's personal comm link for the use of practical jokes. Only when the commissar is not on patrol of course...

Veteran Cirkus: (apologies for the bad picture, will retake later in the week) Cirkus is normally very popular with the rest of the squad, funny and a success with the ladies he is currently being shunned after acquiring new boots at their last resupply at the Munitorium depot. Most think it had something to do with the pretty Quatermaster's secretary.

Veteran Erud: Another new member to the squad, part of the reinforcements drafted from the depleted Cadian 3rd Infantry division en route to Cadia for retraining, erud is now training under Hass as a comms-man. They get on well and often sit alone from the rest of the squad on long rides, discussing techy things.

Veteran Pilous: The youngest member of the squad, a mere 25, Pilous has brought enthusiasm for destroying the foes of mankind. However his exuberance is not always smart and Moody's steadying hand (the non mechanical one) has often had to be used to inject a little realism into the young 'un.

Hope you enjoy. I know my painting is not what most would call high quality but I'm hoping the background stuff makes up for it...
Comments appreciated, also what are thoughts as to Hunter-killer missiles on Chimeras??

Looking good! The OSL on Grenth's face looks cool, even if it looks a bit overdone in other areas - I'll have to check them all out in person

Looks very nice!

Also HKM's often aren't worth it in my opinion.
You pay 10 points to shoot one HKM at BS 3.
Even if it hits, you still don't have a great chance of destroying the vehicle.

Okay, so my Dark Sphere order arrives (nice prices on there btw, similar to the GW prices about 4 years back) missing the Leman Russ Eradicator. Oh well, enjoyed making the chimera this morning. May do the bane wolf later today...we'll see.

Pics will come soon...

And finally some newer models for the army:

And a man-portable autocannon that needs a name...ridiculous? Yes, but Oh so 40k

I'm not an expert on guard, but this is a really nice army. Gritty, yet still colorful. Good job on the faces which is very important with guard. Nice!

where am I? *looks around* Well i'm...errr...I...I...don't know!

Hey all, not much happened since last update. Got a couple of games in against Crimson Fist Sternguard/scouts (Draw, very nearly won) and Vs Arakasi's orks (Loss, very nearly won). I also finished my Pimp my sorcerer entry. I will post more and better pics of him at the weekend.

Moody walked into the Command centre and immediately felt the worse for it. His spine tingled and the room was a dank, rotten cold. Freezing, in fact. His augmetic arm already had frost forming along it. He growled under his breath "Psyker Witchcraft!"
Shivering and cursing, he continued into the dimly lit chamber.

Clustered around the glowing hololith of the capital city, were a number of figures, although none of them seemed to be any happier about the temperature. Moddy nodded stiffly to his fellows and bowed to the Militant Lor- General Dernbac,. "M'lord, you summoned me?"
"Yes Sargeant. I have a...special briefing for you" he replied haughtily, gesturing into the shadows to his right. Moody became aware of a rasping breath emanating out from the shadows. Masked by the unmistakeable sound of a respirator. A figure shuffled out from the shadows, pal, old and decrepid. His face was mostly covered by a respirator and his one good eye looked drowsy, his other a milky white, tinged disturbingly red. Bile came into Moody's mouth and he almost retched, but held his composure. "This is Hadouir Alyr. As you may have guessed he is a Psyker."
A prick at Moody's conscience made Moody put his hand out, meeting Alyr's. Moody hadn't even noticed it was there. A voice as laboured as the breathing eminated from him. "No need to not heed manners Sargeant." Moody snorted to hide his surprise. Alyr's grip was strong, and completely at odds with his appearance. It had a surety that can only come from knowledge and restrained power. Alyr became to make a horrible retching noise and Moody realised it was laughter. He stiffened in the knowledge that the psyker had reached into his mind once again.
"Moody, you are to escort Hadouir into battle..." Moody made to object but Dernbach waved away his protests. "I won't hear any of it Sargeant. Your squad has the lowest attrition rate in the whole company. And I intend to make sure Hadouir get's where he is needed. If anything he should bolster your sqaud."
"But sir. He's a psyker. A witch! The boys won't be willing to travel with it." The wheezing continued from behind him. "Besides, he'd be safer with your bodyguard."
"You know that's not true Moody. And don't make me order you."
Moody felt a hand on his augmetic arm, and the frost began to spread, rapidly. Leave it Moody, you do not want me as an enemy Moody shook his head to get the voice out.
"He's right Sargeant." spoke Dernbach, and Moody guessed that Alyr had projected that last sentence to everyone. "Right now, this man is possibly the strongest on the whole planet."
Lost for words, and still reeling from the psykic pressure on his mind, Moody threw a quick salute and stormed out from the room. Behind him, Hadouir Alyr began his slow, shuffling excuse for a walk after him.

And to finish, some pics from my game with Arakasi:

So long Dakka, progress will slow up (even more!!!) now that I'm back to school but I'll try to make each update worth it. Cya.

Really love that sorcerer... especially the way the rich blue on the robes stands out.

Thanks. I don't think the pictures do it justice. It looks much, much better in person. I'm rather pleased with the lens on the Servo-skull. That came out better than I could have hoped for...

Congrats on your highers! Your guardsmen look similar to the ones i had when i was aound about your age, especially with the red shoulder pad. The difference is yours are slightly better painted.
