Subject: Small fat marines built from SM shoulderpads
Well... you do need 80 shoulder pads for one squad of marines. I'm seriously considering making a 2000 point army of these guys! That's going to take 720 shoulder pads

I love them. I love them so much, I threw one together. His name is Chibi.
Props if you get where I took the pose from. I'm glad I'm not the only person who really wants to make an army of them using the BT codex. I ran a mass infantry list with it when I first came into the game (Multiple 20-man squads footslogging up the board), resurrecting it is extraordinarily tempting. I'd have to find something to use as Neophytes, though...

Nice job, Sarrazon! And when I used to run BT (in 3rd edition) I had some large squads walking and some in rhinos, almost all infantry. I'm probably going to run these little fellas in drop pods, since a rhino would look out of scale
Steelmage99, is there room for the arm to actually go into the shoulder pad and connect to the hands? I've been wondering this, because to get any kind of "dynamic" (or even a little bit less static) poses, you would probably need that. It would allow him to have his arm raised, etc... rather than the fork and knife at the dinner table pose that they all have right now
I like what you did with the backpack, and I'd suggest filling the feet with greenstuff or backing them with card. Let me know what you think about the arms! If you were to tilt the shoulder pad up towards the front, there might be more room to fit the arm in there (I can see that you can't raise the pad, since then he'll have less neck than he already has!)
I'm intending to WillFrost and it definitely helps to see all of these attempts at it!

This was done in about 10 minutes, so forgive that it's a little askew.
I used accellerant on the superglue, rather than take the time to let it dry properly so I could work on it, or plastic glue.
Regardless... I could not let all of you Imperial Scum bags have all the fun!
Witness. Your doom is at hand!
(Also, I was fiddling with the white balance)
Eric

Nice job, MM. Did you consider tilting the shoulder pad up and keeping more of the arm intact? Or is having the disembodied hand the only practical way to go? All but one of the conversions have gone the "disembodied" route, and the one that didn't had zoomed out pics so I couldn't see if it was feasible.
The arms will definitely have to be cut down... I'm just wondering if there's any way they could lead "into" the shoulder pad, rather than be attached to it.
Is it possible to tilt the bottom of shoulder pad up/forward, to make more room for a possible arm?

when I wass messing around with my mega grot I had some old shoulder pads attached to arms. it would work if you wanted to use arms. I would just cut down the area between the shoulder and elbow.
