@Commisar Agro - Cheers man , and yes I have a problem @biginbelgium - Thanks! @Gitsplitta - Yeah I am going for stances that a normal human would stand in as opposed to the usual legs shoulder width apart, knees bent and a dead flat surface to stand on. Oh yeah and they all have to look like stone cold killers @Father Gabe - the product I use is called Pinkasyl, it cures in about 15 minutes and has a lot of flexibility, not sure if it is available in the states. @warriors of mayhem - Thanks man @Anung un Rama - Thank you sir @young logan - Yep Space wolves codex, at first because of the whole feral angle but I now really like the way that Grey hunters can fill a lot of roles with their weapon loadouts. If my razorback could hold terminators (I don't think they can right?) I would upgrade my wolf guard leader to have terminator armour. How cool is that? a power armour squad led by a veteran in termie armour! I hope to get Scents-the-Wind's base sorted out tonight and get his legs glued up so that I can add a few Dark angel style feathers and tooth amulets and try and figure out how I am going to clip the boltgun to him in a sensible way. Cheers, Blackhand

Hey Blackhand, I have a question that might be right up your alley.
For my Mantis Warrior Vanguard (you've seen the prototype), I'll need to have space marine arms bent at a less than 90 degree angle. Do you have any suggestions for doing that (and making it look natural)?

@Gitsplitta - The chainsword arm on the last tmarine is made made of 2 different arms and they are cut in 3 pieces. I used one of the bolter holding arms and a chainsword arm, cut the shoulderpeice off the bolterarm which allows you to turn and mount the stretched out bolter arm so that it is not curling around the body but pointing forward. With that arm I cut the hand off flush with the wristband, on the chainsword hand I cut it off on an angle leaving as much on the top as possible this will put the sword on a more than 90 degree angle and create more of the illusion that the arm is outstretched. Hope this makes sense, the best advice I can give is pin the joins, check the length against a normal arm, greenstuff is your friend and shoulderpads will hide a multitude of sins @ Dufflebag and Good Green - Thanks guys, always good to get positive feedback! Cheers, BLACKHAND

Blackhand: I must have misspoken... I need to be able to bend arms more... not less. Like if you took your arm and put your hand to your cheek. I don't need quite that much bend, but that's the overall idea. Ever done anything like that before?

i´ve read in this forum that you can do this by heating salt (yeah ordinary kitchen salt) to a certain point and then use the heat emitted from the salt to melt the plastic to a certain degree to bend the arm or leg. so no cutting is involved.
i have to add that i read that only and haven´t done that my self...
good luck

Hmmm, it would seem to me that dealing with the elbow kopp is the main issue as it won't bend and the arms (obviously) can't move within it. Might have to cut both sections of the arm off the kopp, then re-position them at a shallower angle on it again. That would work... but would be a mess to do.

@gitsplitta - Sorry bud , was probably more my reading then your phrasing, in that case yeah I would still cut the arm in three and trim down the elbow kopp, I find its realy hard to get a grip on plastic that small with pliers and you would have to do that if you were heating the arm. It's amazing that GW hasn't taken into account that marines may want to do things like scratch their noses huh?
@Victor von Doom - Cool tip with the salt , is it because the salt hlolds heat for longer?
@ChocalateGork & TyraelVladinhurst - Wow, you guys take plastic crack addiction to new levels, Keep it up!
@SlaveToDorkness - Damn, No I hadn't seen them Slave. while I have been making molds of all my work in case I make more of the Sabretooth marines I only intend to make a squad at the moment. If I end up making any more I will definitely pick up some of those Scibor pads, they are pretty fricken cool, thanks for the link!
Cheers,

about the salt: yeah i suppose tho, aslo it doesnt count as dirket heat i think, othgerwise it would melt the soldier. the methode makes it just so much bendable to form it anew but remains the original aspects to conserve the detils. otherwise it would by like holding your average marine over open fire for example candle light...

Just to prove I've been working on the marines, heres a pic of a casting frenzy I went into...
and heres a pic of my first marine, Scents-the-Wind, the squads information and Comms specialist, still to have his auspex attached to his belt...
Im not too happy with his stance at the moment, he is leaning back to far I think and so he seems to be staring off over the horizon, I may snap him off at the waist and add a wedge of GS to get the angle of the torso how I want it.
C&C welcome as always
Cheers

Thats what I was going for! The fluff for wulfen say they are more feral looking than normal SW but not actually wolf headed. I had a look at a friends metal Wulfen models but they didn't look bestial enough for me, so I based mine on an old beastman head. So yeah, sounds like I got the look I was going for, sweet!

Scents-the-wind looks nice. The colors and the toros work really well together. He could use some fur or pelt or wahtever on a shoulder.
Though I have to ask, wouldn't he be able to sense the wind much better without the helmet on? Sorry to bring this up so late in production, but it'll probably be one of those things I'll keep nagging you about.
btw, when are going to change the legs on your Tervigon?
The Wolven, Sabre, whatever looks good so far.

I dunno Blackhand.... I mean, how do you "scent the wind"... maybe he's just passing gas?
Seriously, he's probably not looking anywhere, he's got his eyes closed, the air intakes on the suit open, and his head in position so that he get's the best wiff available & is concentrating on what he's smelling. Love the wolfen... looks a bit like Dracula (in monster form) from the movie Van Helsing. Which is a good thing as he was a pretty good mix of beast and man.

@Anung Un Rama - I have a serious lack of decent SM heads to convert so I had to settle for a helmet for Scent-the-Wind. I decided to cover for that by saying he needs his helemt to access all the higher end sensor suite functions of his suit, don't know if anyone noticed the extra camera lenses on his shoulders? @Gitsplitta - Yeah I like the beast work in van helsing too, I also thought he looks like the wolf form of dracula in the old bram stoker's draacula with gary oldman. @Ghosty - You can take one wulfen per squad in the new codex and they have 1d6 attacks and rending so .... fun fun fun. Kinda like taking a genestealer in a SM squad still trying to find a pair of vampire counts ghoul hands for him tho @InyokaMadoda - Thanks man, I'm planning on doing a diorama base for the whole squad which should tie them together even more. Cheers guys for all feedback, BLACKHAND!

Sorry I was focusing on the "inbetween" portion of your comment My intent was for it to be feline-ish but I figure there isn't too much difference between a wolf and a lion in that inbetween stage.
Man I don't think I've ever used the word between so much in one paragraph.
I have more work to do on the mane and sabreteeth any way so I may work on flattening and widening the nose to look more feline..Its not a fun peice of modelling to do due to the whole head being about 5mm wide
