I don't think that the paint job helps much there, but yes, that's definitely in the rankings

The unreleased squats pop up a little more often than these girls do, though.

I always thought that Macharius was one of the better Imperial Guard characters GW has ever made.

it can't decide weather it's a fantesy or a 40K model

Thats the best part, file/clip out the 40k bits and its a perfectly fine Empire General. I've seen stellar paint jobs and scenic bases that make this dude look epic in both game systems. A bit on the small side from what I remember though.

The most entertaining thing about these threads is seeing how peoples tastes vary so wildly.

terrible models....although probably not the worst...there is a figure (most likely from the same model range or game) that look like a worn out hag thats retired from a brothel....she has 1 shoe on and is bald!...looks awful

I remain convinced that whoever sculpted the fiends has never seen a breast. And I mean never. They were probably bottle-fed as a baby.

I think Nagash is the worst model GW has available: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod1140299&rootCatGameStyle=
Despite its size and being a collectors piece GW still hasn't raised the price, what does that say?

Goofy detail and poor porportions.

Yes, that's the reason.

No Id agree with insaniak on that one. Cmon its VERY easy to find minis with nipples and full boobs. Why not pay crazy prices for those? Oh thats right, because there are more then 100 of them made thats why

You know, I just saw this model in person the other day, and didn't think it was that bad.

The pictures make it look like some crazy boar-sized spikey beast... whereas it's an absolute Monster size-wise, and that helps the rest of it work a bit better.

Granted, this was a bare metal model / unpainted, but it wasn't nearly as bad as the pics made me expect!

I've still got a box of those sitting unpainted.

/sigh

It's been a while since I took a close look at them, but iirc they were decent figures.

Now that's funny.

I remain convinced that whoever sculpted the fiends has never seen a breast. And I mean never.

The first miniatures that I ever painted were a pair of fiends back around '90. I had to kludge the legs in order to get them to fit properly, but I remain convinced that those fiend sculpts were far superior to the thing that GW currently markets under the same name.

I stand corrected. Those are actually quite nice. I guess I am just not a fan of the SoB or the aforementioned Slave "Girls" but these are quite well done.

Yep, Jes does some great work.

Hacking up the hair is tantamount to heresy, though.

Jes' 1st gen Banshees are also quite good, especially considering how long ago they were sculpted. And the Juan Diaz' Daemonettes are very feminine.

The basic Sisters are very good, aside from the bowl cut hair, while the Slaves merely need their eyebrows waxed.
