Looks like the pad could use some dirt on it like the head and arm, though may be the pic.

You did pretty well on the freehand!

My only suggestion, other than WM's mould line removal, would be to try and "lower" the connection point between the fins and the body. I hope you get what I mean, but it seems to me the fins don't "sprout" from the middle of the body, but from the lower third...

Thank for the tips. There is some dirt and grime on his head and pad but not as much as his arm. I may try to level that out a bit.

Actually from our perspective during the Badab War... WE are the loyalist scum (loyal to the Emperor that is). It's the Space Sharks, etc that have fallen under the corrupting influence of the Imperial Bureaucrats and Inqisitorial stoolies.

There should be a Imperial Inquiry on why someone allowed a chapter of the Emperors finest be named " Space Sharks" .. followed by a purge. ( and any chapter with the word " flame" - not my original concept)

All my space shark dead marines on my bases will have Fedoras and power pool cues.

How is the name space sharks any different from space wolves? The are equally lame.

Painting the old minotaur scheme is going to suck. Lots of yellow and red stripes and obnoxiousness.

And I'm playing Lamentors , Like their shoulders are bad enough. Besides maybe they all were killed by Meltas. Not good for the paint job. Hummmm..

Got a bunch of stuff from LTDD today, some of my bases will be Chaos bits as well as the remains of Highly malleable SM chapters slaves to lesser imperial authority.

I disagree about the wolves. Yes they lean lame but at least they are bound in the Norse traditions. That makes it so much better. Meat eating, beer drinking super warriors sounds cool to me. Yet no critique on the robe wearing green ones, at least the red ones feel the need to spill (or drink) a little blood once in a while. Note to self... kill the red ones that sparkle!

PS. I hear Mantis warriors eat their young.. well that what I heard anyway!

WOW awesome Thread. I always wanted to do the Astral Claws, but I was afraid of them looking too Garfield like. But after seeing yours they look really cool.

I glad you using the original colours. I really hate the FW ones. I just finished reading the IA badab wars book and I got to tell you I'm not a fan of it. So far the only thing I like is that they took Chaos out of the picture. And the fact made Huron Loyal to defending humanity (even if its only in his head). He believes what he was doing was for the greater good, and it had nothing to do with mutations or corrupt gene-seed. As for the rest of the book I found it long and boring

I'm still going to buy the book 10 and I hope it gets better

Thanks man! I am glad you like it. When we decided to start this Badab War army we talked plenty about which style to go with and after seeing IA9 I am glad to be painting the older style. The all silver Astral Claws are just boring. Even if I could paint really well, an all silver marine is just not nearly as exciting as a marine with tiger stripes. Am I right?

By they way, I was not saying that space wolves are lame. I like space wolves. You are absolutely correct about vikings being a good background idea for a chapter. I just think their name could have been better.

[Rant] I agree! If I want to paint something silver I'd buy necrons! I'm not even sure where they got those colour ideas from?! They must have picked them out of a hat because they sure as hell didn't ask me!! What does blue and silver have to do with them anyways? Also whats wrong with the old chapter symbol? Per request, here is a picture of the meltagunner and his base. You can clearly see the space shark iconography.


This is one of my newest WIP marines. The goal was to have him reaching down to pick up the helmet. I hollowed it out before gluing it down. Any request on what chapter it should be from?


This was what i spontaneously started working on today. I am going to have a heavy weapons marine standing on top of the standard in a firing pose.

yeah nice bases. how about a space shark like the other base? i'd keep that theme going. if not a ultrasmurf would look good to. If you want to make the colors complementary i think a blood angel or blood raven would work. haha or just get some paints in a row blindfold yourself and randomly point at one XD hahahaha

Helmet needs to be an ultrasmurf. Nuff said.

In the "FW mythology", the Red Scorpions don't usually use Mk7 gear, so I'd avoid this chapter for a tiny nut of fluff...

Otherwise, I'd try and do at least one of each, for fear of forgetting one...

So I'd say, take you list, remove the Carcharodons / Space Sharks, and go from top to bottom...

My vote, then, goes to the Fire Hawks!
