GK armour has the psychic hood built into their helmets.

Well they're not exactly psychic hoods are there? More of an suit interface or something? I suppose it would be closer to an actual GK librarian than the old model is at least. And plastic ftw.

ChrisWWII wrote:Assuming those chibi-hawks or on their flying base, it looks like the Dreadknight is as tall as a flying base, which definitely makes it Trygon size.

Aye, it's definitly Trygon sized; if I put my Trygon next to a flying stand it just about reaches the top with it's head, like the Dreadknight seems to do in that army shot. And if it is indeed on an oval base like Kroothawk says it most difinetely has a size to match.

It has always worked exactly that way in the Netherlands/at my local GW as well. As soon as the Black Box hits the store the customers are welcome to check out the codex & whatever other stuff is in it.
Of course it does. Thanks for contributing. Isn't it fun when people argue with facts because they don't support what they believe? *sigh* I've moved the discussion here as requested: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/351618.page

I've already got two Stormravens and some Dreadnoughts and Land Raiders set aside for this release. I just need a few sets of the new Grey Knight specific kits and I've got another army ready to paint. Advance Orders will likely go up on Wednesday, then hopefully we'll have some good pictures finally.

Right now I have a Land Raider, 15 Grey Knights, and 7 Terminators. Not a big army but its enough to add to whatever I plan on pre-ordering.

I hope that we can get some good pics on Weds because once I get to see the codex ill be setting up my pre-orders

I've got a ton of the old metal models.. 32 PAGK's and 30 Termies.

I assume its enough for a bad army.

I have no vehicles, 1 Dread, 1 Crusdader (henchman not LR), 2 Mystics, 1 of all the assassins and a bunch of storm troopers.

I can always "counts as" some Eldar vehicles and Walkers until I decide if I like GK's enough to expand my options.

I'm almost hoping that the PAGK don't go live with storm bolters and force weapons (that are power weapons) for everyone in the squad as cheap as they were in the rumors. Playtesting them has been painful with how good they are.

Just talked to the local store and I'll be perusing whatever is in the black box later this week. Now I just wish I had an eidetic memory.

Sorry not very relevant, but i asked in my own thread months ago and got no reply. Its about painting.
Those pics from warseer of models painted in GK style, how would you achieve that kind of NMM silver?

Looks like a boltgun metal (or some other less 'shiny' silver) with a blue wash.

Looks great, I agree. Hate the Libby model, though, he looks like a Silver Space Marine (which is what he is), and not a Grey Knight Librarian.

Somewhere in the dark...

Im just hoping that the regular PAGK aren't the same price as the death company models. And I bet that the trygon sized dreadknight is also has a Trygon sized price :(

Interestingly, Coteaz has now been taken off the GW website. I wonder why? If the leaked codex is accurate then he has the same wargear so they could just use the current model. Does this mean a remodel or a plastic coteaz? Based on the HQ choices in the codex, it certainly looks like he's a fair way down in the HQ pecking order so why give him a new model when there should (hopefully) be lots of other new HQ models - no Belial type shenanigans here please!

I just hope I can still use the old model as it's one of my best paint jobs

Of course I have known various GW staff to take a "Haha I've got the book, you can't see it, you can't see it nee naw" approach, which is quite frankly childish and utterly baffling.
That would also clearly be contrary to what their employer wants them to do with the items. Those items are a form of advertising an employee of GW no good to do that. I don't think any one-man store operators will be doing that "hide the Black Box" thing, they have bonuses tied to total yearly sales. Advertising preview items by showing them off is very good for them and GW. It's also just simple good customer service.

Look, I didn't jump into this Black Box issue because I like arguing with strangers, I despise that part of these forums. What I despise nearly as much though is the misinformation, misconceptions, and irrational attacks based on bad information and occasional outright lies posted here. Does GW do some things that are questionable at times? Yes. Do they make mistakes, honest and occasionally otherwise? Yes. But I'm sick of seeing all the ridiculous attacks based on bad information and the problem is getting worse. Let's save the criticisms for negative occurrences based on fact, not hearsay, rumors or distortions of how things actually work.

Couldn't agree more, and as I said, it's only 'that' type of satffer that does things like that, besides I always use the FLGS, much better service and atmosphere

They do look like metallic paints instead of a NMM approach, aye, but I doubt it's just spray and wash. At least the Dreadnought seems to have blending and highlighting going. I hope they do a tutorial that non-'Eavy Metal level painters can follow.

ColdSadHungry wrote:Im just hoping that the regular PAGK aren't the same price as the death company models. And I bet that the trygon sized dreadknight is also has a Trygon sized price :(

I guess the big question would be if the PAGK come in a box of 5 or 10? I think every 5E army has at least one box of 10 troops, but they do seem to have a lot of options (5 different close combat weapons, 4 different ranged weapons, teleporters, justicar options, some extra bling and perhaps purifier stuff?), so perhaps it could be 5.

Interestingly, Coteaz has now been taken off the GW website. I wonder why? If the leaked codex is accurate then he has the same wargear so they could just use the current model. Does this mean a remodel or a plastic coteaz?

Coteaz has an awesome model already, so I doubt he's going to be scrapped or replaced. Plastic special character sounds very unlikely, afaik there are none currently. If anything, he could just be sold seperatly in the future?

Does anyone recognize the sprues? Is the picture of some old black box or are we looking at yet more crappy resolution GK pics?

lol, i didn't think the GK pics could get crappier but they just did! thanks for the link, though. if it's genuine, we'll probably be getting terminators and regular grey knights in the black box. the sprues on the right could be the 5 terminators that would be expected to come in a box while the ones on the left resemble what you get in a pack of 10 space wolves (two identical sets of a two-piece sprue).

That's probably a picture of an older Black Box release. Black Boxes get sent out with Mail Order deliveries, which is usually Friday deliveries, and they'll be sent out this week. I'll have mine in store Friday afternoon, so if anyone's in Durham, come in and have a look, my Black Box will be available for inspection.

I know. I guess I should have articulated that I was trying to add more information
in case there were situations where a model disappeared from one site and not
others. Was he pulled for re-packaging? Re-release? Etc.

For instance, on the US Site, Coteaz is in a 45 dollar box with henchmen. Is
that how he was posted on the Brit site?

Don't dream about "plastic named Special Character kits". That would not be available.

Actually, since the general/mage kits for Empire/HE did not sell well...we won't see any new "plastic character kits" in a long period.
