BlueDagger wrote:Big thing to remember with that is that is the "starter pack" not the army deal that is up. The army deal includes the starter pack and additional figures.
Are you referring to something other than the sale? The sale is specifically the Army packs and says so. Even in the title of the tread.
I think he was talking about the video from Bobba....
Correct, their "unpacking video" is the standard starter set. The 50% off week includes the starter pack plus a lot more.

Why the hell are they not going to ship to the richest country in the world?
Well, when I go to put in Invoice Order address like it mandates I do, the list of countries does not include USA. Unless I overlooked it twice, which is certainly possible.
Ok, I don´t want to sound rude, so, please, do not misinterpretate this.
But here is the USA in CB Online Store.
It is not the most easy-friendly online store I had visited, but they do ship to USA.
What happens (in Firefox, Safari and Chrome) is that choosing United States causes something in the Flash they are using for their store to crash. The language changes to something other than English. (definitely not Spanish, or Italian) and "United States" can no longer be selected.
As I was growing up I was told I could be anything I wanted.... so I became an donkey-cave.
Priced out the cost of the book deal with shipping....and it's about an $8 savings over ordering them from a merchant here in the US. It saddens me that Infinity doesn't have a better presence in the United States. Their material is hard to find, and there aren't many groups in my area.
Delephont wrote:I guess the only fix for that is that more people start playing....as was stated elsewhere, you can proxy miniatures rather than buying two armies!
Where there is a will there is a way.
They are making a lot of noise. A lot of attention now into the Infinity range. Beasts of War, 50% discount, Quickstart rules... If that does not bring new players to their game nothing will.
And now thay have uploaded a new website. More visual than the old one, easier to look at the range.
Yeah i love the new website, the mini gallery is stunning
I have proxied Eldar my last four matchs while I continue to assemble my models, it's worked perfectly.

If you can't even find the book for sale in your country, blazing trails becomes a lot more difficult. When Infinity actually develops a presence stateside, I'll be happy to give it a shot. Until then, it just demands more money than I'm willing to spend on a game that I probably won't be able to play.
But enough of the doom and gloom. Enjoy the awesome sale, my Eurofriends! Hopefully CB makes enough money from this to penetrate the overseas market!

Heh you do know all the rules are free to download right? Proxying down't become a huge deal either = test the game is free
I love free

No it’s not, you can pump all the necro you want but necro is still outdated and compared…very poor models. Not just that but the compare is to 40k or Warmachine… we can get some cheap reaper models and call it good. Really your way off base… bringing up necromunda… Shame on you trying to resurrect one of G.W.s long forgotten projects…
Bob: “And on to our man on the seen lord black fang with the Necromunda news”
Lord Blackfang: “Well Bob things have been quiet here in Hive Prime since the mid 90s, but there has been a stirring of interest in the Arbite area since the release of Codex Demon hunters”
-and cue tumbleweeds-
Infinity is way cooler than Necro ever was…
I don't even need to read the whole thread to see how –some- are reacting...I just got an order (placed before all the hub-bub) from the warstore
are the expensive... not really
-these are warstore prices-
my Salamander T.A.G. (big robot) is larger and I.M.H.O. cooler than a dreadnaught. It was under $40
most “characters” are $8.99
the new G.K. terminator character is $23.00 (didn’t check W.S. price just remember from the preview) yeah a 23.00 termi is really a steal
Corvus is a new company compared to G.W. so they don’t have the huge fanbase and stockholders and such to have expansive plastic lines… and you don’t really need them.
After reading over my beautiful hardbound full glossy color rulebook (39.00) and watching the beast of war stuff…and loving the high detail beautiful models from infinity, you've gotta see them to understand the level of detail and to see what realistic minis look like (not the squatty Disproportioned models from G.W.) I’m done with G.W.
(Please don’t start the B.S. retorts either I'm 36, 22 years of playing and G.W. has gotten plenty of my cash. guys like me helped build that company on a grass roots level)
The people at the infinity forum are nice… pretty troll free and very helpful. Infinity is fun, it’s not meant for powergamers… not sure if the super competitive crowd will like it as much cause a basic troop without melta powerfist monster can kill even the toughest T.A.G.
If you like clean unique Anime/Manga style models, fun play, friendly helpful players, (free) high detailed rules(buy the book it’s worth it)… checkem’ out… Oh you can get started for around 90 bucks VS. 300 that is the min from other companies
When was the last time G.W. had anything for free…
Well worth it…
Corvus has a great product, great fun rules with depth, Killer models and with a little support might become a real contender in the wargame industry
Stop Drinking from the haterade cooler... buy an Aleph starter box, and have fun

Agree with you 5deadly, nice post I share your perspective and funny we share the same age... I mean comparing necromunda gak to infinity miniatures shows not only how off base some people are and that just want to dig arguments for the sake of it.
Infinity is FUN, miniatures and cast is some of the best currently made everywhere, artwork great, community friendly and kind of the opposite of the brainwashed type of crowd we see on other systems and company guys are there to talk to you... free rules... man if you just want to have pure unbiased fun this is the right crowd and game to hang out with.
You're seriously going to piss all over another game just to justify Corvus Billi's high prices?
Isn't that basically what you're doing? Seriously, this is a news and rumours thread that may or may not be of interest to people. If you want to argue the toss over pricing, why not make a thread in Discussions instead of derailing this one?

Yes please. We appreciate the very essence of discourse might require, nay demand mayhaps even, the odd meander or tangent or clarification, but only really if that means the general drive and direction of the thread is left in its unsullied state. Ta

I´ve been looking at the new website and, wow, they have a lot of new photos there. I have also noticed that, apart from the generic starter packs that are included in the 50% ARMY PACKS, there are the sectorial starter packs which IMHO are cooler because they are more recent miniatures.
When I look at the Nomads Starter Pack:
and then I look at the Bakunin Starter Pack, Nomad Sectorial Army:
They look much better, but there are no Army packs 50% discount with these guys.
They should have done also this offer with the sectorials... and make it point balanced. i´m not asking for something impossible. They should think about it.

New site is great you can check all minis very quickly and know prices etc... Infinity is going stronger their past site was a sluggish thing, but this one is fast.
And I'm still struggling with the aleph deal I mean I could buy this or spend 50 euros expanding my yujing collection... or I could make a combined force to go with my caskuda... decisions decisions...

Oh crap. I haven't painted any of my Ariadna minis. I ordered another 2 different army packs (ALEPH & Haqqislam). And now the idea of making a Japanese Sectorial is growing on me so fast...
Luckily I'm not a fan of the Yu Jing army pack and I'm only interested in the minis with the ninja and samurai flavour on them...

100% right… Some people could have Beautiful Models sitting right in front of them and still be Cheerleaders for G.W.
I couldn’t convey the mood over at Infinity any better…
I do like the new Haramakis, but if you talking about buying the Aleph army box… Do it… it’s a few buck more than the tag itself if I didn’t just buy $158 worth of nomads and paints I’d Jump all over it… it’s going to be the second army for sure… I say go for it Navarro… they remind me of -Ghost in a shell- more than any other force… the Asura model -pretty girl- in the starter box is a tank… her weapons and armor (what armor right it’s a bioroid style body) make her one hellova killer… just do it

I'm with you I'm not as impressed with the oldstuff as some of the new packs... I pretty sure you can still bring the sectorial guys with a main line army only not as many... there might be some limits...
Can't wait to see whats next...

Thats my third choice... but I'm torn because I love some of the mainline Yu jing too... and really PanOceania is growing on me...ugh... small force of PanOceania
can"t hurt right
On to you Cheerleader

Not pissing on G.W. your argument just Bogus and Corvus isn’t over priced… you like Anime? I don’t see anyone else doing it right…

I spent bits of my afternoon listening to the "Who are the ~?" faction movies on youtube. While I would like to see better visual editing in the videos (no need to see the designers' faces all the time when we could see the miniatures they're talking about) and while for some reason I can't find a PanOceania video, they are excellent. Combined with the new website and the starter army deals and everything, this may be the best example of advertising I've ever seen in a miniatures game. I'm in the middle of moving back to the US, but it will be very hard to resist getting into this once I'm back on my feet.
Although after looking at the minis more closely, I'm starting to think maybe I like Nomads better than Yu Jing. Maybe I'll just have to get a handful of minis from both factions!
To the people who know the game: I keep hearing them talk about the option of playing specialized Sectorial armies vs. general faction armies. Is there a game mechanic bonus or penalty in choosing your army in such a limited way?
"White Lions: They're Better Than Cancer!" is not exactly a compelling marketing slogan. - AlexHolker
Let's keep this on INFINITY, on the deals in particular.
It is a great game with beautiful models and fun rules, but it won't be for everyone.
Dissenting opinions are fine, if they don't go overboard and derail threads - and there's no need to jump ugly on people.
So, more INFINITY talk, and less of... that other stuff, OK?

From what I can tell...
When you choose to run a "Sectorial" list, you are limited to choosing only certain troops, and only some of these are able to "Link".
"General" armies are free to choose from the entire list but then have no ability to "Link".
The ability to "Link" though, is VERY powerful, especially in this game, with the ARO (Overwatch on steroids!) system, so I'm not sure how much of a wash the 'disadvantages' really are!
