Wait - where is the pricing? How did I miss that?
I don't know, because it's in the newsletter.
Forge World wrote:The Eldar Wraithseer, designed by Will Hayes, is a complete resin and plastic kit that will be available in limited numbers at the Forge World Open Day prior to its release later in April. The kit costs £34.
Forge World wrote:The Eldar Corsair Conversion Kit is designed for use with the plastic Eldar range. Designed by Will Hayes, this resin upgrade kit contains detailed weapons, jump packs and heads that enable Eldar players to convert ten plastic Eldar Guardians into Corsairs. The Corsair kit will be available in limited numbers at the Forge World Open Day, priced at £18.
I think the Corsairs will not include plastic parts, but they may sell two different packages one with the plastic parts included.

by baneblade variant you mean the stormhammer right? one can hope, but as for the Eldar maybe we'll see those missing Phoenix lords such as the warp spiders and the shinning spears. also if they are indeed doing the warlock does this mean psi titans for the imperium as well such as the old psychic warlord?

Rules for the Wraithseer are up right here: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/Product/PDF/w/wraithseer.pdf
What do you think? I don't see it as viable at all outside of Apoc simply because it is only really effective around large numbers of Wraithguard and Wraithlords.

I dunno about everyone else, but these just don't impress me. The wraithseer just looks like a wraithlord to me. I've seen conversions that are more exciting. And, the corsairs are uninspired. Someone resculpted an old helmet, added some new guns, and slapped on super-fragile wing packs. Considering how awesome the shadow spectres are, these just seem lazy.

The same could be said for all the Marine armour/weapon variants, if you're going to be really picky, and look how well received they have been. Personally I think it's great that they aren't just fleshing out RT era Marines, but have gone back to the original Eldar background and are bringing out the Raiders as a playable list and models.
Here's to FW bringing back the Necromunda Spiders, Commissar training squads and Imperial Beastmen!

This is a Dark Eldar "catamaran" build around a big weapon and used by Corsairs (using Craftworld and Dark Eldar stuff). WIP and will probably get rules in IA12. See also Haywire cannon Raider here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/60/358096.page

The only thing that will make me hesitate on the twin hull...it is FW, and those long thin sections and thin sails give them ample opportunity to cast a warped up mess.
If it was someone else I wouldnt hesitate a bit.

Not everyone has had your experiences with FW quality. Personally I have had nothing that warranted more than a quick bit of warming up to staighten up some pieces, no more or less than other resin manufacturers. Not everything they do is to my or everyones taste, but at least the results aren't the fudgy blurry messes of some sculpts that I recieved.

My FW experiences have been about 50/50 good and bad. However, the long spar sections of that twin hull design give a good chance for something to go bad. Id be pretty pissed if I got one and one side was an inch higher or lower than the other.
IMO for what FW charges I shouldnt have to heat and bend things back into place. They should take more time and care with the casting process, and give things a proper inspection before they ship them.
In comparison the 2 Armorcast battletech 28mm mechs I got were nearly flawless.
The Old Crow Sabre tank i bought was amazing. It had only 1 small blob of extra resin on the whole model, no flash, no bubbles/pits, and it had any rough sections sanded smooth and was completely free of mold release. What did all that cost me?...21 GBP, all told less than $45 USD including shipping.
FW has little excuse for much of the lack of quality they send to people, other than the fact that the rabid fanboys simply must have it, and they will pay any price for it and pay little regard to quality.

Heh. but for those of us with a bit of GS, a bit of time, and a whole bunch of extra Guardians and Wraithlords, it's a mighty fine time to get new rules for things we can make with our own two hands for free. I may not buy te models (okay, I'll buy a few), but I will definitely buy a beautiful book with well-written rules (from what I've seen so far).
Back on the rules for the Wraithseer, I see a few missing things:
[EDIT: Thanks, MandalorynOranj, missed the timing bit in the rules]
Putting Enliven or Deliverance at the beginning of the Eldar turn (like Fortune and Guide) would really, really screw us. Powers that you can't use in the turn you come on from Reserve suck- especially because heavily using Reserves is often the best way to play Eldar. So maybe shooting phase would be best for these, like how psychic powers work by default in the rulebook. Hmm. Well, at least they need to stipulate that the powers last until the beginning of the next Eldar turn.
Apart from powers, it looks pretty good.
The 3 attacks are nice, as is the option for a shoulder-mounted D-Cannon (!). A single ranged weapon isn't optimal TBH, but certainly characterful.
A 5+ for the wraithshield is kinda dumb- it really needs a 4+ as this thing will draw fire like nobody's business, and even with T8 3+ a pack of Long Fangs will take it down quick. Something you're paying points for should be at least as good as regular old cover saves.
And the points value looks quite balanced for what he's packing, given that the model isn't much more survivable than a regular Wraithlord but has a lot more punch.
The requirement for another HQ to fill the HQ slot is also both characterful and fair.
Well done, FW and Alan Bligh. Thank god you pawned Warwick off on something other than the IA series, the gaming community appreciates it!
