Now I've assembled all the new Necron models ordered.
But 30 Warriors are still to come. Delayed about 2-3 months now.

Some glaivewraiths and the other ones I can't remember the names of( the ones with the sythes ), and a resin eldar farseer.

Bit careless with the stanley knife and cut my thumb. Got me wondering if there is such a thing as a thumb guard?

I just got another set of 40-60 Romans that randomly showed up from an order I made about half a year ago!

That was unexpected!

Assembled SK and 20 Necron Warriors this week (with only 3 CW batteries left unassembled).
So my pile of shame is almost at zero atm.
But with painting I have a time problem.
When it comes to local tourneys again, I'll paint my list.

Primed a bunch of minis from my pile of shame and made a start on some. Hoping to get my WIP marines out of the way soon so I have space on the table to get some speed painting done.

Most players here play unpainted (grey) anyway.
I usually don't play unpainted models.
But these days I'm quite busy and have to shift painting.
All Necron models are assembled but there are more models to arrive (still delayed by Brexit).

I actually have to re-organize my pile. I actually did a good job cleaning out a pile of "based but not painted" models last year. I still have a a small pile of those left but another full "prep" pile I want to get based as well.

So far this year I've painted a solid 50 models so I'm making good progress....Cursed City will probably bust a hole in that but we'll see.

Well through selling plenty and painting a few in 2019 and 2020, I’ve lowered my numbers plenty.
This year I aim to do the same, more so on the painting side as all the selling done in 2019 got rid of most of the stuff I needed to move on.

So far I’ve gotten through maybe 10 models to a basic colours, with washes and highlights done.
A level I’m happy with to call them done.
Though most could a,ways be gone back to..

April started with 15 more models painted. This month should be another strong showing as about 80 or so models almost done after march. Just last details.

This year almost 100 more models painted than bought though this month will see plenty new models added.

Got the Swordmasters done on the final day of March so 156 minis done 2 purchased since 2020 began. Going to pledge a smaller amount this month to make time for more building and some extra details on some minis.

OKay, let's check in how we're doing:

Tau (Primed)
Stormsurge - Painted
Etheral - Painted
Bomber - Painted

Space Marines:
35 Dark Imperium Intercessors (currently ready to prime) - Painted
Indomitus characters (on the workbench) - Painted
6 ETB Reivers (reday to prim) - Painted
6 Plasma Inceptors (on sprue) - Assembled

IG:
OOP Hellhound

High Elves (need stripped, cleaned, rebuilt)
20 Spearmen - Primed
15 Silver Helms - 10 Primed
20 Sea guard
20 Swordmasters
20 White Lions
10 Ellyrian Reavers 5 Patinted, 5 Primed
5 Dragon Princes
4 bolt throwers
Dragon
2 Chariots
~10 characters

Grey Knights (mostly build/primed)
~30 Terminators
~50 PAGT
2x Dreadnought
Stormraven
Dreadknight

To that, so far I've added an Imperial Assault Core box (currently about 40% painted), and about 60 more Praetorian infantry, which are fairly rare and something I buy when available.

I've also dipped into Rangers of Shadowdeep, which while it resulted in my buying (and painting) some new figures, I also dug deeeep into the pile of shame to paint some minis from the very first Reaper Bones kickstarter.

Sounds good, here's what I've been up to:

Complete projects:

Crucible Guard - Rocketmen - Complete
Khador - Some solos, a couple jacks - Complete minus the jacks.
Mercs - Some dwarf stuff mostly. - Complete

Mostly complete projects

Trolls - Some storm of the north stuff. - Mostly Complete. A unit remains from it.

Relic Knights - Star Nebula Corsairs - Finished up all my Knights and units that I actually play. I've got a handful of characters left.

Projects I haven't gotten to:

Malifaux Outcasts - Bandits, Obliteration, Plague
Malifaux Arcanists - Performers, Wildfire
Malifaux Ten Thunders - Last Blossom

Guild Ball - Brewers

Projects I picked up this year:

40k Spectrus and Indomitor Kill Teams - Complete.
AoS Jawz of Mork Squigs - almost finished. Mostly highlights left.

Also some random Monpoc and Marvel stuff that was completed as it came in and never sat on the pile.

I’ve been updating my initial post but here’s where the state of things are for me. Added the Aliens miniatures since the start of the thread, otherwise I’ve been quite restrained.

Going into the year I have the following unfinished models to get through:

Blood Angels:
Primaris Captain (Indomitus)

Terminator Captain

Judiciar (finished in January)
Sanguinary Priest (finished in March)
Bladeguard Ancient
3 x Bladeguard Veterans
3 x Eradicators
10 x Assault Intercessors
8 x Intercessors
10 x Tactical Marines
15 x Death Company Marines
3 x Inceptors
5 x Hellblasters
3 x Reivers (I think I will only really paint these as I like the models)
3 x Primaris Outriders
Repulsor
Baal Predator
Drop Pod

Death Guard:
8 x Plague Marines
6 x Poxwalkers (10 finished in March 2021)
Myphitic Blight Hauler (finished in February)
Rhino

Necrons:
Overlord
Royal Warden
Plasmancer
2 x Cryptothralls
Skorpekh Lord
3 x Skorpekh Destroyers
Plasmacyte
20 x Necron Warriors
6 x Canoptek Scarab Swarms
Canoptek Reanimator

Aliens: Another Glorious Day in the Corps:
5 x Marines
Ripley
Newt
16 x Xenomorphs (finished in April)

Aliens: Ultimate Badasses:
5 x Marines
Burke

I'm going to focus on finishing my Death Guard and I estimate that with the models I've painted already and the addition of a Plague Surgeon, I'll have a 1000 point army finished for whenever games start again. Then I'll switch between Blood Angels and Necrons after 500 points or so at a time, just to break things up (though I think the Indomitus box is only around 800 points?). If I can get a 1500 point BA army together I'll be delighted with myself.

I have painted up a bunch of armoured units that can play both as loyalist PDF forces and can swap insignia to play as chaos renegades.
2x AT83 Brigand tanks
2x Manticore
4x Scout sentinel
1x Basilisk
1x Mothballed tank
1x Hellhound

Even managed to finish up alternative weapon load-outs and optional tank commanders for once, so they are almost fully complete. Just missing some crewmen for the basilisk and some chaos sigils for some of the tanks.

March I painted 38 and brought 1 the Knight of Shrouds from Mortal Realms putting me at just over a 100 for the year....Unfortunately the pile is still winning.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.
