Is there anything more rebellious than not complying with the guidance of the Codex Astartes? That tome says Plasma Guns are a two handed weapon. This badass says not today.

From the people who brought you Duck and Cover, we now have Safety First Plasma Pose. Take out tanks, not your face*.

Feel the burn, Nev. Get those appendages aligned and macro-motormuscles muscling!

That biomass ain't gonna gather itself! (oh wait, never mind)

It feels wrong to be done so far ahead of the deadline. But my nids contrast scheme takes roughly zero time to get done.

I do have 4 WIP marines I want to get done before the end of the month so the deck is clear for the next comp, but this one is all wrapped up for me.

Finished my eradicators and the whirlwind, so just my captains sword to go.

I won't post loads of pics as I dont think it fits the theme but I will share a pic of the army after I finish this captain.

I'm not very proud of these ones, but they're done. The models themselves weren't that great and the colour scheme didn't quite work.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

Running a little late this month; I start a new job in less than a week so I've been working furiously to finish some other commitments including a bunch of commission projects before my start date. I've only just managed to clear my plate so hopefully I can squeeze this guy in the last few days of the month.

What greater rebel and outcast than the mighty Gotrek Gurnisson. A Slayer obsessed with finding his doom, Gotrek has a penchant for gold (loot), a mistrust and contempt for all other races, and a strong dislike of boats.

While I'm not actually painting the official Gotrek model, I am painting my counts-as conversion for my Junkforce Overlords, the lone brigand and wanderer, Hjarnan the Tall, who stands a full head over his more decidedly average Halfling brethren, and accompanied by his faithful companion, ... Dog.

Don't ask how Dog keeps up with Hjarnan when he's on his bike. Such things are better left to the imagination.

Any subject ideas for September? I'll put the poll up tomorrow, so fire away!

I’ve been painting stuff from my extensive backlog for the last couple of months. Something related to old or outstanding projects might be fun. I’m sure that any hobbyist could find something like that.

Now showing Samurai Marines!

Painting total as of 3/18/2024: 14 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain

Painting total for 2023: 79 plus 28 Battlemechs and a Dragon-Balrog

How about 'I am the law!' - Basically the opposite of this months theme of rebellion. And yes, I am suggesting this because I already have something in mind ...

Just managed to squeak these in under the wire it seems!

Here are my four heroes rebels of Ulfenkarn:

Apologies for the meh photos, I don't have anything even close to a decent lightbox or camera as yet...

I'm really happy with how these all turned out. The monochrome plus flesh and spot colour idea seems to work pretty well, leaving the models tied in to my Soulblights while still being very obviously different in game.

I just had a massive push to paint like 50+ models for my Sisters of Battle to get ready for a tournament last weekend, so in the end I just didn't have any painting energy for this month's challenge. If I'd thought ahead, I probably could have made Repentia fit the bill for rebels, but alas I didn't take a proof pic before painting them. They didn't turn out super special or anything either as I was trying to paint quickly rather than carefully, so maybe it's just as well.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2023: 40 | Total models painted in 2024: 7 | Current main painting project: Dark Angels

The idea is always from world of the warcraft. Looks like Level 100 players farm the ice throne.

I was hoping to get something else done, but time is short at the moment so I'm throwing in these Orcs from TytanTroll Miniatures. Lovely models to paint, full of character and with just the right amount of detail for printing.

Nearly done - hopefully I'll get a chance tomorrow to finish up the purity seals, amulet, and maybe give the runes a nice orange, purple or pink glow, then take new pictures once the camera is recharged.

Well I'm not going to finish Russ in time. He's almost done but needs polishing off, and the base isn't finished. I've procrastinated too much over the last 2 weeks and got distracted by a full NMM Rogal Dorn. Here are a few photos I took anyway.

Agreed. Half done WIP still in the fight for the podium. Great work.

Lot of good stuff turning up near the end, as is par for the course. Let’s end the summer on a high note everyone! Or winter I guess for those on the flip side. Either way, let’s see what you’ve got!
