Well, my Infinity Defiance KS arrived yesterday and the core group is a special ops ragtag team of 4 plus a helper bot. So I feel like its kinda preordained to be them this month.

I made a start and don't need any paint, I made a nice tan leather using an old snakebite leather mixed with some agrax then washed with seraphim sepia.

Was going to get agarros dunes for the coats but may have been too mustard like the steel legion.

Good grief. Is that the new Nagash ? Is that a display piece or the intended battlefield look? It’s Mahooooooosive!

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Chopped up a sensor array from the falcon or wave serpent kit (can't remember which one) and stuck on a little bit at the end from the same piece to add some length. Highly recommend pinning if you give it a whirl.

Update from my end, the Wraithseer had some oil washes applied and now I can get down into the details.

All of them are old GW kit.
I will make a base to fit it and then I can use it on the table.

So a few things about these guys. I was worried that without the purple carapace, the ‘stealers would not look “finished” and not fit in with the rest of my swarm. I think they turned out OK. I wanted to keep the Magus in a similar palette to the rest of the guys, to echo the colors of the hive fleet. But people generally need more than the 3 colors I use for them. And figuring out where to add the red was interesting.

Of course, now I’m looking into GSC, which is not particularly healthy. I might be able to get a squad of guys out of the old lead, but would need a lot of new kits, which frankly is not in the budget. Still, fun to dream...

I'll be painting these three miscreants:

I'm in. Rebel Scum = Pirate Sentient Fungus in my world. Good opportunity to paint up another freeboota slugga boy and my first attempt at making a tricorne hat from greenstuff!

Proof:

I just need to make sure these freebootin' mercenaries don't start to outnumber the loyal Skullz in my Waaagh! or there could be power struggle trouble. Can you say, "I'm Da Boss!"?

@Nevelon: I got 10 GSC models with the Kill Team box set that I still haven't painted, but I immediately started thinking, "this may be my new army..." and had to check myself because a GSC army isn't in my budget either. It's hard to have a few and not start thinking about them multiplying into a proper army though.

Okay, my pint-sized anarchist girl is done:

It wasn't until I got some paint on the models that I realized they were the same girl. The packaging on the model three-pack makes it seem like three different characters, but it's a bit like Ral Partha's old "Three Stage Characters".

I will eventually post one more pic for the competition, but this is enough for now.

I'm making a slight modification to my entry, starting with this proof pic:

The Mars Attacks! model doesn't really fit the aesthetic of the Broken, so I'll not be entering that model. In addition, one of the Broken models I built has a really weird pose, and I can't seem to find a good combination of arms that will make the model less ridiculous, so that one won't be making an appearance this month. That leaves these four as my completed entry:

Now showing Samurai Marines!

Painting total as of 3/18/2024: 14 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain

Painting total for 2023: 79 plus 28 Battlemechs and a Dragon-Balrog
