These guys are finished, which is to say I'm tired of working on them. I might go back and fix some things, so this isn't my final photo. Also, I may end up entering the Dark Judges instead of these dudes, depending on which I'm happier with.

More photos and some commentary in my P&M blog.

The Marine Standing Behind Marneus Calgar

Nice work on those chaos warriors.

My brain filled in the crinkles/streaks/whatever the white lines are on the backdrop as lightning on stormclouds, in a very Heavy Metal image for them. Like they need a pile of skulls/bodies/slaves to be standing on, and some song you’ve never hard of on the B-side of the album.

Very slow progress so far. I got distracted by some Ultramarines. Managed to get these guys cleaned up, mounted on their bases, and added a liberal sprinkling of skulls, as befit followers of Khorne.

All done and dusted. Really pleased with how this came out. Surprisingly fun and quick to paint.

Grot command tank finished. I wanted to add hazard stripes to the plow, but I could not figure out how to put a straight line on a curved surface.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

Getting there with captain smash, picked up a 3d printed shield for him too.

My entry is getting there. It's mostly done, but I'm sure I'll revisit it by the end of the month to touch up some details (and the base) and try to take a better photo.

@MrNobody - masking tape. You can get some narrow stuff that could allow hazard stripes on the plow really easily. It still looks good without, of course.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Take one night to repaint a mc SoB.
Waiting for some 3D printing parts to finish it.
The origin one and some WIP photos.

That's a nice smooth looking red, mine has gone patchy, shield looks good still don't know what I'm doing with mine might just have a stripe and a transfer.

Real nostalgic vibes here, awesome work!

Thanks Rybrook, what has made yours go patchy? Wash or contrast?

I go super messy and heavy with my wash then pick out the panels again with mephiston red to get my lines.

I primed it grey, then used BA contrast to get a red down but the grey made it more like red gore, then I got lazy and brushed on Vallejo bloody red air paint.
so had to more layers than I would have needed if I had used a lighter primer.

Making real progress...

I'll explain the incongruous color scheme when I post the finished model.

Lighter primer may help or you could just use a more opaque red for the base coats. Mephiston red from citadel has great coverage.

I normally use the normal blood red but picked the air paint because it thinned, a little too thin.

Best part about that model is you can go do the most metal thing with it after you're done. Go fight flying sharks with lasers on their heads.

Is 'Eavy Metal Calling?

UK

Bit of a long shot, but I'm working on a Blood Angels Leviathan Dreadnought for this round and with my eyes as bad as they are these days, the freehand symbols I had planned to add are not worth risking the rest of the paintjob. By any chance, does anyone (ideally UK-based) happen to have any Blood Angels transfers lying around they'd be willing to send my way? Happy to pay postage/packing, of course.

I've decided my entry isn't "metal" enough, so I'm making it an ensemble.

Here's updated proof:

I'm very nearly done although the capin is looking very jaundice, could be put down to the hero lacking the radiated wasteland of Baal.

A late starter for me, with this chunky badger knight I've had sitting around for ages. Should have taken the proof pic of the bare (or is that badger) metal though...
