That's a 6. Not a 4.

Rending wouldn't really do anything anyway. No real purpose if your sniper rifle is already AP1, and an average armor pen vs vehicles of 19 is good enough.

I always liked Riflemen Dreads actually, and even more so in the GK codex. Anti-psyker defense with the Reinforced Aegis, can nullify Shaken and Stunned results with Fortitude and is pretty reliable against skimmers and such. Landspeeders, all Dark Eldar vehicles, Ork Deffkoptas (Instant Death with S8), light armoured transports like Rhinos and Razorbacks, or side armour on Chimeras are all excellent targets. Not bad for 135 points.

Don't know on my screen there's a curved line (think of it like an L and there's a cross over line between the vertical part and the horizontal so if it was a 6 it would be a 6 with a little tag coming of the hoop :S if that makes sense.

Just looked over the Grey Knights advance order pics on the GW site and I must say I'm really unimpressed.

The Dreadknight looks even worse than I imagined and I couldn't see myself wanting to field one ever because of the model.

The PAGK failed to impress me as well. I don't know if it's just their odd helmets but something about them is off-putting. I do have to give GW props for making them in plastic and giving them plenty of options.

The terminators were maybe my favorite, but I was really hoping for something to blow me away. Again, big props for the plastic kit and a ton of options.

Look at the old metals compared to the basic marines/terminators of the past and the GK metals blew them away and looked really special. I just don't see much difference anymore. Maybe that's a good thing. But there's no way I can get past that Dreadknight. It really looks like a toy. Like it should have a button on the back that when pressed will shoot the spring loaded hand off at your target. The comparisons to transformers are much to true for my liking. It just doesn't fit in with the style of the rest of the army or the imperium. It looks like some bastardized unholy union between tau and terran technology. I swear that model could be altered very slightly and fit in perfectly with a tau army.

Pre-ordering the codex and a box of terminators. I'll have to reserve judgement and think really hard before jumping into this army, an army that seemed like a slam dunk to get into not too long ago.

Let's not base this on a side note scribble on an old leaked layout proof.

Why are you even mentioning things from the leak now that the real dex is in peoples hands, people want hard facts now that the dex is "out" not leaked scibble that could be years old...

On a side note regarding the Turbo Penetrator, the old max was a pen roll of 30 (3+3D6+3D3) if you rolled 6s on everything. The new one is 39 (3+4D6+4D3), would be funny if they added a rule that gave +1 to the pen roll for every 2-3 rolled over the vehicles armour

I dont know, I dont see the assassins as lacking.
I see most players using the librarian deep striking dickbomb list since its dumb and simple enough to play, and after the first turn, the librarians job is done, i dont see the harm in gating over an assassin out of line of sight (with teleport homer) on turn 2, without the libby you still have grand masters to let them outflank.

the others are primarly for disruption, I dont believe in the "making back points" thing, I think one has a list in every GK list depending on how you are making your army, primarily to disrupt enemies while your big guns get there to beat stuff up.

Well, I'm... underwhelmed. The detail on the terminators and troopers isn't what I thought it would be after the Blood Angels and Space hulk miniatures. It could just be the paint, but the details looks soft. Also, LOL that the "Brotherhood Champion" is the old Justicar model.

I could still see getting a box of terminators for some fun modeling, maybe. However I wasn't all about GK anyway- they only really appealed to me in the Ben Counter books, which are apparently at odds with how most people see Grey Knights.

The old one was 3+3D6+3D3 (S3 for sniper, 3D6 pen, 3D3 on successful rends), the likelihood of getting this is pretty much less than 1%. Haven't done the math myself but it can't happen very often.

It's an exo-skeleton. Terminator armor is an exo-skeleton. Power armor is an exo skeleton. It's perfectly in line with how Space Marine exo-skeleton ARMOR is designed. Heck, even it's in game profile tells you it's not a vehicle like a Dread or Land Rider. Kan has a sever case of misplaced rage...

Well in the leaked codex it clearly says it rolls 4D6 for armour penetration. There isn't any generic rule that would all of a sudden add 3 to that number, is there? Correct me if I'm wrong of course. I have a very hard time believing that they buffed that 4D6 during playtesting for the final version, but we'll know this saturday the latest.

Overall, here's what I think.

PAGK's
- Look Good, overall.
- I think the problem isn't with the heads. I think it's the collars around the head. Look at the new plastic models and look at the old metal ones. The collars on the chest-piece cover up a larger portion of the helmet on the metal ones.
- Don't understand the weedy-legs complaint. They don't look any more weedy than the other marines.
- The bolter clips looks silly. I'd replace them as soon as I got the models.
- The Psycannon is just terrible...seriously, I don't know if it's the color, but it looks really bad.
- What's with the Daemon heads? Was there a HUGE retcon about how Daemons die?
Overall: 7/10 (-2 for bolter clips and psycannon. -1 for lack of a substantial collar.)

TAGK's
- Look incredible!
- Love the amount of bits you get.
- The Apothecary bits are great.
- I love the banner.
- I am not fond of the two-sword look.
- The little book/sword things on their backs are going to snap off VERY quickly.
- Daemon heads...again.
- Pyscannon...again.
Overall: 9.5/10 (-.5 for the Psycannon.)

Draigo
- The bare head looks derptastic.
- Helmeted head is much better.
- I love how ornate he is.
- The shield is the sex.
Overall: 9/10 (-1 for the bare head.)

Dreadknight
- I don't get the big hydraulics on the shoulders.
- The whole idea is a bit silly...a guy in an exosuit...strapped into another exosuit. But I guess we can work with it.
- A bit too rounded and sleek for an Imperial vehicle.
- The feet and the sleek look make it look way too Tau-ish.
- The pose is too static.
- Big psycannon looks much better.
- Heavily salvageable, and with a little work, it could look good.
- You should never use the unhelmeted head. It's just ridiculously obtuse. You're in Terminator armor and yet whatever you're fighting requires you to be in another, more substantially armored suit of armor. Are you really going to go through all the effort to better equip yourself if you're just going to leave your helmet off? C'mon...
Overall: 7/10 (-4 for the negatives listed above. However, I'm going to bump it up a notch because, while it is derpy in it's current state, it has alot of potential if you put some work into it.)

Worst model GW ever put out? No. Is it pretty derpy? Yeah. Is it unsalvagable? By no means.

My SoB list had 1 platoon of attached Guardsmen... A small-ish platoon even (two squads and a command squad). I took them cheap lascannons, primarily, to give me a couple chances to shoot tanks at range before the bulk of the Sisters, which were on foot, got anywhere useful. And, yes, I had an Inquisitor, but I think i only fielded him once or twice...

But, yeah, my army sucks, i suck, everybody sucks.

They're all versions of powered armor, yes, but that's what design aesthetic means.

Do you actually have to put the GK dude on the DK? I'm sure you could just leave him off it? A little bit of plasticard or some such to make a nice GK chestplate to cover any holes in the chest.

Well we all are sort of mentioning un-known facts yet, for all we know the leak could be someone trolling us all or GW taking a viral step on seeing our reactions, the leak could have been deliberate, both unlikely but I refuse to believe rules until the codex is in my hands. no one knows the sort of people could come out with who have claimed to have read the new dex just adding what I have seen so far until my dex arrives.

Now that i have a 3rd look at the DreadKnight it seems it will be well perceived by the young players. For some reason it looks like a gadget that the new GW target market will like (14 years and less). The good news is that we will see amazing talents out there converting the Dreaded DreadKnight. Im sure CMON will be full of entertaining pics and might be a lovely project for golden demon.
