I don't like the fact they made the space marines warrior monks they should have stayed criminals forced into service like they were originally designed back in the late 80's!

Things change over time - we get new kits, new vehicles, new characters, etc. now that GW is going to release a model for everything in their codex/army book and add on to their existing lines. I'm sure the flyer will be in the space marine codex due out later this year.

More than half of the price, not half of the value.

Nu-uh. The guy bought it, obviously he thought it was 'worth' it the first time around...

The Storm Raven and Storm Talon are in the iCodex right now! No need to wait for a new codex.

Also, I haven't seen any reliable rumor that the Space Marines are getting a codex this year.

Nope. Out of stock still. And no mention whatsoever has been made to me by GW that it is coming back . (Noted, that a lack of information is sort of expected at this point.)

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

Finally had a read through it. Man was a waste of money. "Thinly" and "Stretched" don't even begin to describe the so-called content of this book.

The purchase of Crusade of Fire just looks better and better by the second.

Oh I didn't buy Death from the Skies, Sigvatr. I just said that I had a read-through of a copy.

 Mick A wrote:

No. They contain different things. Buying Crusade of Fire wouldn't get you the updated (and even calling them 'updated' is a stretch) flyer rules.

My point is that before Crusade of Fire came out there was a litany of people screaming bloody murder how it was a content-less reprint of a few random WD articles with some fancy pictures. I bought a copy. I thought it was great. And while it's no mid-3rd Ed Chapter Approved compilation, it still had a lot of new stuff in it (and was great if you like campaigns).

Death from the Skies, however, is just a reprint of Codex rules, a few words changed here and there, a reprint of the Space-Guppy/Dakkajet rules, an amendment to let Marine and Templar players buy the Storm Raven kit, and some scenarios. Worse, it has reprinted rules from Crusade of Fire. Of it's 72 pages, 35 of them have rules. The rest is just pictures and other nonsense. Stretched thin!!!

Death from the Skies is not only available for sale again on the GW US website, they've apparently commenced shipping the North American back-orders from the initial weekend it went up for sale.

Yeah, it definitely was stretched thin. I love me some pictures and fluffy bits, but it still felt a bit light. Not regretting buying it, but definitely could have had more in it. I would have liked to see more flyers in it, or something new. Some new forts for AA, whatever.

C'est la vie.

I also own a game store in the US (just a few miles from Mikhalia's, actually), and just got off the phone with GW. They're back in stock on the website, and they're willing to let me place an order for them, but they're making no promises that I'll be able to get them, and they all but said they certainly won't be able to get me as many as I want (which, for the record, is a meager four copies to start with).

FWIW it's a Teleporter Homer that works for everything as opposed to just Teleporting units, at least if it's meant to be the same as the one from C:SM...

You mean for drop pods and such? Do they home in on the flier or simply dont scatter wherever you put them? If its in C:SM I do own it.

It's in C:SM and it works for everything that Deep Strikes within X" of the Beacon. It's pretty handy if you want to have a minimum scoring squad in the Stormraven, as it allows you to deploy onto objectives withouth having to Hover and without risking mishap.

So the Raven drops it on a point its passed over? Or takes the Becaon as an option and is able to safely deploy the squad? Either way Im reading the dex tonight lol. Thought it was just in the flyer book or BA dex.

The Raven drops the unit at a point it's passed over, but if you have the Beacon you won't scatter if you're within X" of the Raven, as you deploy as per the deep strike rules.
