Afraid not I don't trust spray varnish so I paint mine on. I'll be glossing him afterwards to make sure the paint stays on.

I finished Obliterator number 4 today, its not my best paint job by any means.

I wanted him to be dark and brooding an unhappy chappy.

Man if I saw that on the other side of the table I'd unload everything I had that was in range at it simply to get it off the table.

...that's a compliment btw

Thanks Skalk and Cutthroat.

That's going to be the last update of the week as the Plague Marines aren't far enough into the painting process to finish tomorrow and the Dark Wolves will be strutting their stuff this weekend.

Its going to be interesting if I face a blob army I'll be out numbered 50 to one or something silly. I counted up I have 50 models in a 2500 point game.

Well I actually have a sort of update today.

Terminators prepare to disembark

All on their tray ready to go to the tournament tomorrow.

Also thought you might want to see some WIP shots of the great Nurgly one.

Cheers guys due to the resin issue I have to keep hitting certain areas in washes to try and get it to stick I'm doing this while paintng my Plague Marines so a lot is what colour wash I'm using at the time which is giving a very interesting layer effect.

Also of note Graven and leadlegion are sponsoring a Paint-a-Deathwatch Marine Competition!

Graven's Paint-a-Deathwatch Marine Competition!

A found it quite fitting for this thread as they were supposedly originally made up of loyal Death Guard marines

(and yes Git's, I did steal the above directly from you!)

Cheers for the invite

Its going to be right after the new Chaos Codex hits so not sure whether to bring Chaos or the Dark Wolves.

Dark Wolves is the safer bet as I don't need to worry about learning new rules or having to emergency paint all the new good stuff

A few pics from the weekend from one game

Logans hit squad dishes out the dirt

Taking on the Vendetta squadron, I took down 5 out of 6 with my Cyclone Missile launchers

At the end of the day I drew two games and lost two, ah well. Some very nicely painted armies as well, I lost out winning best painted by a point

In game terms I played the following

Flesh Tearers - Really nicley painted army managed a draw in this game
Black Templars/Marines - Lost this game by a victory point it was so close. It was the other way round in the last tournament where I beat this player by a point.
Imperial Guard - As per pics this game was a draw which was quite amazing.
Eldar - I thought I had this game when I saw his army deployed but he took out two of my squads in his first turn before I had a go, I was out matched from then on and couldnt pull it back.

They guy that beat you out in the painting category must have really deserved it because your stuff is amazing all around. Sound slike you had a really great time. I'm really enjoying 6th Ed and I wish I could get way more games in. Like... 1 or 2 a week. I need to force my kids to play.

I played at a "welcome to 6th Ed" tourney at my FLGS this last weekend, went 1/1. Lost by 1 VP on a secondary objective. I got greedy and went for the win and split my fire between 2 squads at 2 targets instead of both squads hammering at 1 target and taking the tie. The other game was against Dark Eldar and the game turned out so horribly for my opponent I don't even consider it a victory and we didn't bother to count up VP.

The guy who got best painted had a really nicely painted Ultra Marine army, the only thing that I wasn't keen on was his allies detachment of Imperial Guard because it wasn't painted upto the same standard as the Ultras

I'm really enjoying 6th as well cant wait for my next event using 6th rules which will be in August.
