I am with you there, Plague Brother. I have been itching to get back to modeling and painting my Plague Marines but don't dare to touch anything because I don't want another '3rd Edition Ork Surprise' when the new CSM Codex comes out. I really like the new 6th Ed core rules but I'm also staying realistic that GW could eviscerate my CSM on a whim and my hard work could be shelved for the next 5 years. Ugh.

Your stuff always looks great and you haven't disappointed here. The bases are really cool, nothing I'd ever associate w/ Plague Marines (holiday on the French Riviera perhaps?) and I really like the bright contrast to the more mottled rot.

Still wondering how much it sucks to replace a spiky Bolter magazine though.

Many thanks Skalk we get some Daemon love this month plastic plague bearers and a nice Slannesh chariot.

Here he is the master of rot Typhus

The base is a bit odd as my drybrush has given out on me its just a lump of paint so it didnt quite work as well as normal. I've also noticed a small place that needs touching up on the back, but thats what you get for doing large pics.

I'm at another tournament this weekend but I'm going to be travelling light as I have a long walk from the train station so no pics i'm afraid, not that I ever remember anyway

I have my second defiler planned for next month and some other bits but I've not finalised my next tournament list yet, waiting for next months WD to see the points changes for possible daemon allies. I'm quite sure I'll be doing a chaos defence line as well.

I always enjoyed the typhus model! good painting, however i find your green alittle bland on him. Perhaps you can add lighter green here and there and maybe even a super thin highlight.

I like the base but i do agree with Panda. I think that he is too dark or the base being the color that it is, is taking away from the paint job a little bit!

No new pics today for this thread I'm afraid.

I was at a tournament yesterday run by VonWar at Triple Helix Wargames in Westbury, first time I've been there and it was a really good place. There was ample room for 20 tables and the owner of Triple Helix is a really great guy. All the players were great as well as the organisers of the event.

I played four games in total over the day with my Chaos Space Marines, last 5th edition tournament for me.

Game one was vs Orks (1500 points) - which I managed to pull a victory. My Berzerkers took on a Ork bike squad with Painboy and warboss.

Game two vs Daemons (1250 points) - First time I've ever played Daemons and I made a mistake of splitting my forces and got stomped, I will know how to fight them next time though.

Game three vs Grey knights (1000 points) - If ever there was a reward for the quickest game played we would have won it, 15 mins for 6 turns We had so much time left we played a second game afterwards and still finished before everyone else. I lost the first game by losing a vehicle and a single Obliterator squad to his half a paladin unit.

Game four vs Necrons (750 points) - I tabled this guy, it was looking really bad from the start but one of my single obliterators walked out from behind a building in my first turn and stunned his monolith, next turn he got 6 to hit 6 to penetrate and 6 booooom I then preceded to bash my way through the rest of the Necrons my Sorceress took out his destroyer lord in close combat she was well hard.

---

Painting wise just ordered some bits for the second Necrodefiler when that arrives that will be my next project. While I'm waiting I'll be painting Sisters in my Imperium thread of which I will have an update later today.

Today I received some cleaner for my brushes and had a go with and was very impressed, its amazing how much paint gets stuck in them and you don't realise.

Also got a few other things in the post today from GW. An Iron Warriors Warsmith because I wanted to make sure I picked up a metal version before they went finecast and also a copy of the latest WD with the new Daemon rules in. I must say the last time I picked up a WD must have been in the early hundreds and they have gone down hill rapidly since then by the looks of it. I couldnt actually see anything worth reading in it apart from said rules I purchased it for, I was most disappointed. Did have a nice pic of Fateweaver on the back though.

Now my Nurgle minis are out of the way for a Tournament this month its time to concentrate on the next batch of models for September.

I'll be looking at doing the following over the next few months.

Chaos Aegis Defence Line

Necrodefiler (number two)

A squad of basic chaos marines most likely Dragon Warriors. The reason I chose them is because I'm planning an ally detachment of them (Salamanders) for my Dark Wolves next year so this will kill two birds with one stone. I'm going to try and merge my forest and ice bases together for this unit to show they are allies to both main armies.

Also an Iron priest for October for the Dark Wolves. There might be something else as well but I'm not sure yet.

After that this thread might go quite for a few months while I paint my Sisters up in my Imperium thread ready for a doubles tournament in November.

Scary as it sounds but that's the rest of the year planned out for painting.

Next year will see more Dragon Warriors, Exorcists and Sisters (in my Imperium thread), Any new stuff from the new CSM codex plus some Deamons of Tzeentch and Nurgle for allies so I can play both my Death Guard and Thousand Sons as separate armies.

All subject to change as normal though

Cheers Skalk I like to keep myself busy. I have loads of other projects I want to start as well but I need to try and keep myself focused on a project at a time. I also want to try and improve my painting as well but I'm not really sure how to go about getting to the next level.

Typhus is looking great brother, I want to start a Deathguard force at some point but Im forcing myself to focus on my Worldeaters.....and my Star Phantoms......and my Titan.......dammit!! :p I have to agree with you on the WD, I picked it up yesterday to have a look at the new Daemons and besides the rules from them the only other interesting part was the pics of Wade Pryces WE.

I like typhus. Dark, grim, brooding, with a limited pallette. Very nice, much better then the putrescent green most people feel the need to use to represent Nurgle. I always feel monochromatic shades of dark colors are best for the god of mortality.

Thanks everyone glad you like the Nurgle boys. I'm currently working on my Deathwatch entry in my Imperium thread for Graven's contest.

@Graven I picked up the brush soap on ebay, its really worth the purchase.
