Thinner, burnt umber oil paint, and rust brown weathering powder
Flick
(it's messy)
Then airbrush thinner onto the oil paint before it dries to help it diffuse here and there.
I will add more on detail areas later

well dave... you do realize there is no turning back now? you opened a can of cool looking skills with this tan... now you will be judged by that work... i bet that competition at gencon is getting a hard time with this orkmower...
the only thing now missing on this piece is the crusty mud on the treads...after that i would say it is confusable witha RL tank...once finished we have to make some nice jungle mockup fighting pics...

Vik- This is my Entry for the Golden Demon at Games Day, not Gencon Yeah, there is much more paint work to do on the running gear, road wheels, and treads still, plus mud
Oh yes, pics will happen, plus I have to give it an appropriate display base yet.

Childe's comment about 9 months to cure was misleading, drying time is about a day, meaning you can't move it around on the gloss surface anymore. It doesn't matter if it is cured or not, since you are going to be covering it with a clear coat anyways.
