The markings were there just so there would be no comments like 'to plane!'

A more holistic aproach to layout is needed ass to how the system will work so they all line up and look good, one for a cross road, t junction, corners etc...

The elevation is so you don't need to have them permanently on the gaming table, and allows for a more modular approach to the games and layouts....they're also conveniently the same heights as the Mr pods and walkways further up the thread!!

Double height sounds like it could be a good direction for us to take

Looks like they can be raised or multidecked or connected tosome of the other designs. Which means that we can hopefully look towards a landing set or a vehicle parking area. I would not be surprised if Warmill is trying to create an entire Gameboard of things like this.

Hmmm... am I the only one thinking about multi-level highways?

Or at least a raised up a floor

Also, Mr Pod - yay!

The roads are cool. They have a semi permanent vibe to them. Like they have been airdropped in like barricades. It makes sense that there wouldn't be any specific t-junctions etc as the soldiers on the ground would just put the pieces together like a simple puzzle to get where they need to go.

Damaged road segments would be great to! With craters and cracks. Like where you're going with the terrain. You are creating your own universe and style.

It is easy enough to add your own battle damage to these sets! I have a fortress section that I attacked mercilessly with a craft knife, the result was very cool!

Good road bits guys, though I honestly have come to expect the best from you anyway!

That would be amazing! To have a a cuztomizable display board that is expandable based on objects bought from you would not make you cary money but be simply smexy to the core!

We were thinking of a block war kind of thing, imagine 2 opposing tower blocks made of mr pods (btw we may steal that name ) connected at various levels by walkways, with a road running through the middle with little stalls like noodle bars bythe sides, with fences around the blocks. The blocks would get grimier as you went to thebottom as the towers are added to as more people are crammed in, with grafitti all over the ground floor trailing off as you got higher, and all over the place are neon adverts and billboards. Street wars indeed

I might be tempted to have them built around some kind of industrial complex - some large power station coolant towers ringed by worker dorms and services for example, or a couple of huge vehicle assembly bays ("titan" style construction/housing buildings)?

With the scaffolding being Mr Pods + walkways and a couple of more solid towers in the centre of each block of pods? Perhaps rival construction/power companies/gangs in an industrial waste/hive/district?

A maze of walkways and the odd Mr Pod being used as a shop or bar in "no mans land" suspended between them?

Hectic industrial section with roads and walkways going everywhere sounds great.

DEAR SHOE,

THAT'S RIGHT YOU ARE A SHOE. THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT NOT BEING A SHOE BECAUSE IN MY MIND YOU ARE ONE AND THAT IS MOST UNFORTUNATE.
AS LONG AS I HAVE YOU CONCEPTUALIZED AS A SHOE IN MY IMAGINATION YOU SHALL REMAIN AS SUCH.
THIS MAKES ME WONDER WHETHER ALL PEOPLES AND OBJECTS CAN BE CONCEPTUALIZED AS SHOES AND THUS BECOME SUCH, GRANTING ME ABSOLUTE POWER OVER THEM. DO YOU HAVE A CLEVER ARGUMENT? NO YOU DON'T, YOU"RE A SHOE. SHOES CAN'T HAVE CLEVER ARGUMENTS.
I FEEL LIKE THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD HAS BEEN LIFTED OFF MY SHOULDERS NOW THAT EVERYTHING IS UNDER MY CONTROL, NOW THAT YOU ARE ALL SHOES. I NO LONGER HAVE TO ANSWER TO MY REGRETS AND PAST MISTAKES BECAUSE THEY ARE SIMPLY SHOES.

Yeah, if I ever win the jackpot, there are several companies that are going to want to add me to their Christmas card list - WarMill being one of them

Yessir! Let me get it painted up first though!

Liking the ideas for a Warmill industrial complex, I imagine that it would look very impressive all set up!

Yeah come on Cain, that first tower looked awesome!

Pods are detailed, construction of the tower block must begin! We've worked out how to do upgrade parts that allow for neon signs for those bar / brothel / gun shop pods that will be in there

Silver that pic is pretty much exactly what we had in mind!

Hey welcome back Hazzer!

And Cain, please feel free to add as many as you like to your basket

Have some more preliminary snaps of the 'production run' Mr Pods. We have this military looking thing, and Harry has been working on a very nice 'high tech' version, and we have another in our lovely shade of Orange. I think we have used up all our GrimeDark skills and are trying to rein in the effect on these 3! More pics to follow (once the pods are painted )

Enjoy! xD

I was thinking for the laser cutting - could people supply you with essentially "pre-painted" print outs which you could then stick on the wood pre-cutting? ie if someone coloured in your walkway design, sent you the file and you then printed it and stuck it onto the un-cut walkway section and then cut it, they would have their "paint job" (such as hazard stripes, metal plating, rusty patches, etc) with your walkway pattern cut into it.

You could even have your own "pre paint" designs...

If you painted up the pannels prior to assembly and then scanned then in 1:1, you could quickly amass lots of designs without having to draw them digitally...

the only way i have seen this work in the past is if you have a template cut around the actual cut for example an A4 sized rectangle that people can download and color in a graphics program that the guys at warmill just print out and paste on this means the pattern can be lined up correctly each time.

That was kind of what I was thinking. Though my slant on that would be if WarMill painted up their own pieces and used a scanner to digitise the paint scheme for each piece, rather than have to colour each piece on the computer.

Paint up a pod "cleanly" without assembling it, scan each piece, then add on weathering etc, scan in again and work in the cutting guides and you have instant "decals"/"pre painted" designs for the buildings/ walkways and still have the etched detailing as well. You could even use colour filters to give people choices between, say, different primary colours. My only concern would be if the laser would burn the paper designs/glue...

Fire extinguishers on hand for this experiment

you have to be soo precise for this to work properly its quite a pain in the arse asnd would easily tripple the time taken to cut a pod hence trippling the cost

Hey guys!

Interesting comments there guys, at work we align pre-printed artwork with the vector artwork, it can be a pain but having done it over and over it is possible providing everything is set up correctly

I have considered sorting out stickers that could be applied post paining / pre weathering..I think it could work.
