Hi all

We've got a couple of things to show off today. We've been working on some generic Fist designs to be engraved on clear bases that should be suitable for anyone with Imperial fists, Crimson Fists, etc. Everything that's white in the pic would be transparent; black, red and green would be engraved and opaque. We're also working on Angel and Wolf ranges, we'll show some pics when they're further along.

Ed's been busy and knocked out a sexy display base that would be perfect for Eldar characters, as well as 3D printing a concept for a display plinth that a 40mm / 25mm base would fit into. And now that i have seen that, there goes even more of my hard earned cash, as another idea has struck me that almost every Eldar player out there is gonna want. Just... absolutely amazing I feel as though we are witnessing the birth of a new age in basing!

An interesting idea I had... what about drilling small holes around the edges of some of your bases, for multi-wound models? You could make, or people could find, small pins of some kind to go into the holes, which would then be removed as the model looses wounds? Just another idea to kick around...

But, as I was saying, absolutely fantastic work

You guys are being alot of help recently!

You can tell that your seeing these as gamers as well as just model collectors! Neither myself or Harry has played in a long while so things like forgetting how many wounds are left, that is something that could lead to many an argument i'm sure! There is super cool coloured acrylic rod that you could use - similar to the Necron's weapons.

You could also perhaps make an inner and outer base? With the inner and outer bases connected by a peg system so they don't just fall apart, but so you can rotate the outer ring which has the wounds written on around the inner base which has a pointer on it?

The old Titan bases had something similar for their shields so maybe an updated version doesn't sound to bad an idea

Hi all!

Just an update to show off the bases we made for our own Orks, we realise the laser cut bases may not be everyone's cup of tea so just showing what other sorts of things we can do. These will be cast up in resin once I've poured a mould. We're developing this as a possible product where you order all the different sizes of base for your army, along a variety of emblems / panels for vehicles and maybe shoulder pads (we've had a possible breakthrough in making shoulder pad chapter symbols economical to make, so watch this space!), and then either we can cast them up for you or you can buy the mould to do the casting yourself for a lower price. We could slap a set of rhino doors or similar in the mould as well, all customised to the customer's designs

We've also been creating more symbols, I've been working on angels and wolves and Ed's been doing Chaos and Ork - style ones, so expect to see some samples on here soon

Also, for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, we've updated the Valkyrie thread with pics of the new rotors ready to be machined. I've been doing a bit of work on remodelling the turret, I'll post some pics when it's done. Check it out on http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/358792.page

So how was your bank holiday Monday?! Mine went from a potential nice day off to a day sat in front of the puter drawing chaos stuff - a lot of chaos stuff!

I started off with a series of Chaos stars, something nice and generic that can be used for a range of bad guy's bases!

Overall for the bases, red gives an outline, a slight marking on the surface, black engraves about 0.5mm down, and white is untouched. Once a range has been made it was a case of swapping around the colours to get different effects on the layouts.

I went for a Khorne / Slaanesh side with the icons, as I'm going to begin a Bezerker themed army!

I found it hard to find reference material outside of games workshops own, so please, if you have any suggestions....fire them our way!

I hope to get these out in the next day or so so watch this space

Of the three lowest images, there is a variation of 128 individual bases!

In response to the poll, of what bases to focus our time on next, here we have a range of generic Chaos bases, mostly featuring stars and symbols not specific of any legion or god - what we will do at a later date is re visit and add some of the more popular chaos legions, or your own iconography at your request.

Most of the bases follow a theme, of three different types of engraving which hopefully the images can explain better than I can, and also some of the bases have a nice boarder with spikes and arrows all the way around

Wow you work quickly. This is full of win here Ed. The chaos stuff is fantastic. As is the orks stuff. Are you familiar with the Da Boyz GT? We usually give away something every year for the people that show up. Last year it was custom objective markers. It would be awesome to see these bases possibly distributed. I'll have to talk with the other people running it this year, i think they may be giving away dice, but a possibility for the next year! I'll pm you if i find out any info

Tell me about it! I'm pretty burnt out today! but the lure of the chaos symbols made me stay another couple of hours after work to get some sneaky bases made!

I'll happily subsidies some bases for your competitions the more bases out there the better! let you know!

Most of the bases are 25mm, which is the size of a regular slottabase. We're doing them for £5 for 5 x 25mm, 3 x 40mm or 1 60mm in thicker acrylic. Bigger bases like the valkyrie or dreadknight basesdepend on the design.

As far as the laser cutter goes, they come in lots of makes and sizes, and run off different software so google is your friend if you're thinking about getting one, I've just ordered mine at a shade over £21k. I would say if you don't know what you're doing don't be tempted by a 5k one off ebay.

Hey guys, Just a quick one - We got some 1mm acrylic in so we'll be making some of the swords we drew a few posts prior, and also some lovely colours, tinted and florescent acrylic, maybe I'll fun a few Eldar bases with colour!

So, My eyes are about to drop out the amount I have been staring at a monitor today! But Harry dropped by after work so we ran off some of the work hes been laboring away at the past few days!

The set starts with a commission - including a massive 200 x 150mm base which is going to be used as a centerpiece in a diorama and also double up as a display base. there is also the more usual 25mm and 40mm bases, all of which bare the Aurora Chapter Iconography!

We also have one of Harry's sets, this time a generic 'fist' base pack, which could be utilised by a range of chapters. The bases offer a range of detail that we have not gone to before, with extra depths of engravings and markings.

And finally we have a full range of bases with skulls, scrolls and numerals. These are quite simple as far as they have mostly marking (outlines) of the details, but still look striking enough and will take paint exceptionally well!

Glad you like our stuff

We could do bricks and stuff but there's already a bunch of guys doing resin wood, paving slab, sci-fi, dungeon, bases, bases with rocks on, bases with lava on, etc we're trying to offer something a bit different. Custom designs to a precision standard is our other main direction, as we haven't seen anyone else who can offer this. You can achieve a lot of effects with some textured styrene or resin bases off ebay, but there aren't many people who'll engrave or cast into resin your custom chapter symbol!

Then again, if someone wanted to commission some very particular brick bases, like with their logo on every 3rd brick, maybe that's where we can help...
