@CC: I think you'll be fine. While the pic you submitted is a bit distant at blog level, when you zoom in at the gallery it shows plenty of detail.


Thanks Ice. I'm definitely humbled by all the work and creativity that everyone put in. So many wonderful ideas! Things I never would have thought of. Very invigorating... gives me all kinds of new things to consider for future projects.

Mk-1 Land Raider, perfect condition (side guns still move), nicely painted in an IG camo scheme... $30. I was on it like white on rice.

I'll replace the little imperial fist insignia on the front with a Mantis Warrior one, concoct a bit of fluff to explain it and off we go!

Well yes Casey, it could. But I have another screaming blue Mk-1 LR that will get a re-paint first. This one will hold for now... it's much less obnoxious.

FLGS consignment room. Occasionally you just get lucky and wander in right after someone drops stuff off... so you get first pick. He had a ton of beautiful IG vehicles and two Baneblades too.

I think it would look really nice in the tranquillity scheme

I always feel bad for not checking in on your thread(s) (and many others) for ages, but then I do and I get to spend a fair chunk of time looking at all the new wonderful stuff you've produced. I need to remember to check in more regularly though, I love this thread!!

And I love that Mk1 Land Raider, great find. I would quite like to do a whole Mk1/rouge trader era army. eBay is pretty expensive for that stuff though.

@rodgers37: Well, I do appreciate you taking whatever time you have to swing by the blog and especially to comment. Lots of activity always preceeds Adepticon and recently with everyone doing such a marvellous job with the Mantis Maker competition it's been a fun few months.

I've been lucky... most of my RT stuff I've either picked up cheap or been given by folks who just wanted to see their old models get some TLC, so it hasn't been too much of an expense. It can be though... that's why I jumped at the chance to pick up that LR. Just doesn't happen every day.

Mantis Maker Competition Update!

Judging is starting to trickle in and should be completed today. Trophy builds are done, just need to get the mundane components.

It may take me a while to compile all the results, so it may be a day or two before they're ready to post. I won't drag my feet with it however... I'll get it done as quickly as possible as everyone's been waiting so patiently.
