Well perhaps not unexpectedly we didn't get as much gaming done as I had hoped. We did manage to track down a copy of Hey That's my Fish! - which they are all loving, even little miss - plus treated myself to a set of Gellerpox dice because, well, they're pretty in a :Nurgle: kinda way.
Holiday in York is generally excellent. Chocolate museum was ace, and I'm not a mad chocolate fiend at all - more of a savoury guy. Castle, minster, walls, Shambles (inspiration for both Diagon Alley and The Shades) all good. Massive amounts of lethal Mexican food eaten at same place last went to over a decade ago. Also much roast meat and of course Yorkshire pudding consumed. More museum-ing, going a-Viking and railways to do, and possibly a trip home via Alnwick castle (movie Quidditch pitches). But I'll be raging if I don't get at least one game of DB with the boys in.

Yeah cheers. Video may be the answer... *Shudder*
Here we are again
Back from a nice jaunt and trying to get back into the swing of life. With mixed results sleep is all over the place, serves us right for trying to relax.
Still, lots more priming has happened, nothing interesting to show you though. Trying to get ahead before the winter sets in. I have a build list as long as my arm for BMG, 3 teams for Dreadball, AND need to get Mortarion sorted too.
Had a nice weekend time with my boys at our local GW at the weekend. They painted stuff, watched some 40k with really great lads in their 20s who talked them through Black Templars Vs Slaanesh, and got a bit of a feel for it all. They're feeling excited about doing their Raven Guard as well, so I think we might get somewhere now. Here's hoping, eh? With older one's birthday coming up, he's got an eye on the Primaris Dreadnought, so an easy build might be in order. Need to kitbash a macro plasma thing to give it a bit of oopmh mind you :dakka:
So enough chat. Model!

Thanks muchly. Rather delighted by the reaction to it, here and online.
Played Dreadball tonight, teaching a pal. Great laugh, Marauders (orcs&gobs) versus Forge Fathers (dwarves, well, squats), classic match-up.
Great fun tonight teaching erithromycin to play. Some great comedy moments with the event deck messing with every one and everything. Unfortunately the dice hated the visitors, and he just couldn't roll a strike despite setting up some brilliant plays. So rather embarrassingly won on my final rush, and not helped by my goblins doing the happy dash dance!
Db is my go-to beer and pretzels game, so easy once you get your head round. To keep him keen I've also given him an Asterian (Eldar) team; he's been a filthy space elf lover since RT days so that'll keep him happy plus it's one way of rationalising my dB stuff: two teams sitting built and primed (Nameless and Cyborgs), 3 unbuilt: human (male, speedball style), Rebs (assorted aliens) and Brokkr (dwarf mining guild. I have a human female team somewhere, too
Of course, you could win one of the teams in my Contest which is still running over here:

Ha. Well remembered long gone, during the great purge. I did, however, find a box of SM Scouts (5 snipers, a RL, 10 shotgun and a HB) from those days so they'll be getting repurposed for the boys.
Tyranid Horde wrote:That's one mighty crawler, the tentacles look excellent, in fact, the whole model looks excellent.
Thanks chum.
Slinky wrote:The crawler is wonderful! Bravo!
Many thanks indeed. It's certainly come out the way I imagined, which is a bit of a rarity lol.
On which subject, who doesn't like a nice big beasty?
Kitbashing, gradually a... something. It's really just an assemblage of bits. Theoretically, a Maulerfiend. Or maybe a Forgefiend. A big beasty, certainly.
Also You've got a lot to answer for Theophony
Delightfully, I recycled some of my old bags, foam and other odds and ends through our local trade group for a bunch of nurgle daemon bits (hence the kitbash) and some sm bits for the smallfolk.
Which means comedy daemons...
Seriously, who doesn't love nurglings? I think different coloured washes on different individuals?
And speaking of things needing washes, I *may* have started some more Deathguard. As part of the trade there were a bunch of prebuilt, preprimed plastics. Now ordinarily I wouldn't condone the same poses, especially with old Papa's blessings, but you make the best of what you've got. So:
I'm doing a 30k-themed squad. I had planned to really, really heavily decay and rust these guys because of their age (which is why the r-h end guy is darker) but I rather like how the 30k scheme has turned out, so I may just wash them down a bit. Yay?
Started some cultists:
Again, these came built. Luckily the rest aren't.
But there will be other stuff too. Because I love my rust, and I have acquired this great big lump of nurgle, I've decided that it's easier to have a dedicated Kill Team rather than picking and choosing from my rather varied selection. Plus, I got some shiny 'munda bases in the trade, which I'll leave mostly metal that's rusting where they stand.
Happy weekend,
Graven

I'll need another house if my wife is to tolerate me...
Huh. Well rather unexpectedly I had the day off today, having been hit in the head by our loft ladder and losing a quantity of blood. Such fun.
Still, have to make the best of a day on the sofa, so I built one of Uncertain Scenery's 28mm multi-level game tiles.
These things are brilliant. The whole thing took an hour including drying time. I love the removable floor sections so you can have easy access or indeed damaged sections, whatever you see fit:
£28 is a pretty decent price point for these (straight or T), £84 for 4 (2 of each) even more so. They also do a crossroads with moving lift that's £34, I have one of that so very keen to get it built too. Sorely tempted to get a bundle, a 3x2 modular multilevel board will work for so many games. Need to get some scatter done too, right enough. It's scaled (indeed, licenced) for Deadzone so things are marked in neat 3" cubes but obviously that's great for 40ķ et so also - I mean it's also a viable gotham undercity/subway, for instance. It's rock solid, with a support piece underneath to prevent any bowing, and can withstand an adult standing on it. Seriously, why is more bought terrain not like this?
Oh, and they do 15mm too:
There's some great over and under pass tiles as well. These are fully collapsible. No glue required. Ace.
I also did some gs work on the Maulerfiend, mostly gap filling so I didn't have to think about how the Hell I'm going to do the forearms. Not a clue.
Oh. Began building Mortarion too, and finished Darkseid's base:
And threw some lampposts together.
Call them one for 331, as they're a set of 3.
Tidied through the box of random junk. There's a couple of Lords of Chaos, plaguecaster, blightbringer and other quick-build not things I really need in multiple but you never known I guess. 15 more cultists in bits, couple of poxwalkers, some random csm (they are TINY compared to the new DG!), some chaos warrior bites, and 3 plague flies in bits. I think I need to catalogue all my csm and figure out my units. Too many same power fist leaders. I think I have about another dozen DG, ish, to do. I had thought for KT, but I might just go on with the 30k scheme.
Lots o plague goodness, regardless

Lava type base for Mr. Seid?
Some of the larger 'nid arms for the fiend that mauls? I find their organic weaponry makes a good fit for repurposing in the name of the grandfather. Old Keeper of Secrets claw arms, or Soul grinder arms of you can find them on ebay, might make a good start.

Yes, lava for the big fella. If you have spare maulerfiend arms you can part with that would be cracking.

yeah, I am moron
Not sure about tiny arms. I mean I get that they'd suit the model as it stands but I've got be able to "sell" it as a maulerfiend too.
Another day of going a bit stir crazy, but I'm gradually catching up on s3 flash. Woo.
Finished Mortarion. He's a big bugger.
Lovely kit to build... mostly. Back carapace needlessly in two sections, and would've been better for the fit overall. But getting 2 of the gun, and two sets of upper arms, was an unexpected bonus. I've left 2 of the nurglings off to add some razzle dazzle to bases elsewhere, elsewhen. If you're observant, you might spy a couple of DG I'm working on down the right hand end.
Built and started my other drone:
Next, onto the weathering!
And built the rest of my cultists:
That's... 16? Need to do 4 more. Must Go digging in bits box.
2 more days of this. Trying to get as much built - and primed - as possible before winter sets in. So tomorrow the plan is to build DC stuff and start priming. If time, also the other piece of scenery. Plus, tomorrow, the damn ladder is finally getting fixed
