Thought i recognised the parts.

OK, I think I've got the color scheme worked out for them. Well, a couple of options anyway.

I'll do the cloth black (well probably dark grey so I can shade it down to black & easily up-shade it a little bit). Leather will be natural (light brown). Armor plates will be my standard yellow with some black ornamentation and/or chipping & rust. Bionic bits will be metal (either iron-based or bronze-based) with appropriate wear/rust/verdegris.


Any thoughts?

I really like the Kromlech parts, I was thinking about getting some of their not-Meganobs and using some of their parts to up the cybork parts on my biker nobs, as it stands right now most of my cybork parts are the heads.

I think your color scheme will work well.

Funny Anpu... I was just thinking that the bikes were the other thing that needed to be cyborked up & figured the easiest way to do it would be heads and weapon wielding arms. They need to make a nob sized cyber torso. Bodies and heads with normal arms and legs would be a really easy conversion to pull off & would look pretty darn good.

The monotrack Ork really looks great, but my favourite has to be the last one, on the second pic : I just love how you managed to make that stubgun + grenade + choppa look like an AK47 with bayonet !

Well, I'd run out of proper shootas and had these AoBR orks laying around, so I was trying to come up with creative ways to put the two together into something useful. I was originally just going to make a second shoota squad, but then I got a bug to do a cyborked up Aard Boy squad (could be just Aard Boyz or Cyber-Aard Boyz). 4 of the shootas are modified sluggas. Expect more where those came from!

I think some of the bionics' should be more of a "gold" kind of goes along w/ your yellow paint scheme that way.

Well, bronzy with verdegris would make sense. I want the metal to be obvious though. If it blends in too much with my earthy yellow... it won't be clear what they are supposed to be.

I've been using regular old warbikers as my nob bikes because when compared to my RT era ork bikes (the grots)... they do look like nobs. That being said, I thought they'd look a little more nob-like with proper nob heads & I really wanted to cybork the unit up a bit. So, I ordered some cybered up ork heads from Max Mini that I'm assuming are intended to be used for big meks or some such. Unfortunately, the heads are HUGE... really... even on a big boss figure they'd be massive. Wayyyyy too big for anything less. I've figured out a way to slim down a couple of them, but even with the face-job they're still far to big for a regular nob.

So, since I'd popped the heads off my bikers anyway... I dug into the bits box and started replacing the now absent boy heads with appropriate nob heads. Here's the result of the day's effort. Pretty fun to just sit, relax and spend a good chunk of the day just working on 3 heads.

Yeah, I think so. I'm a chronic bits buyer so I loose all track. I don't even know if it was intended to be a nob head... but it's the same size as the other nob heads so it seems to work just fine.

Have a very fun one I'm working on right now... then one more until I'm finished with the group. Might get some work in on it today... kind of hard to say, have a number of other things on the docket that'll take priority over painting.

Great looking group. Great detailing like the mouth-held grenade and the spotted bandana turn them into real eye-catchers indeed.

The nob bike squad is going to be quite the sight. Each head is very unique and different from the others. They should be quite the sight!

I have a special "guest artist" working on the painboy bike for the unit. That'll be a real peach (I've seen the early pics). Of course this means I'll finally have to get Wazdakka and a regular bike warboss built and painted to. One step at a time I guess.
