Wow !!! Proud owner !!!

Had a really fun game last night with Brian, one of the local 40k guys. Not enough good pics for a battle report but a few highlights... Maelstrom mission.

My turn 1, moving aggressively with all my transports into the middle of the board. Brian's Chaos guys are still deployed.


The Chaos forces also move strongly across the table. This is taken from behind my lines so the perspective is different than the last shot.


The mid-table show-down. The squiggoth is carrying my "command squad" (big mek in MA w/ 3 MANZ & a Pain Boss).


Turn 2ish and things are getting really messy. Luckily my group of 5 lobbas had really put the hurt on one of the 3 berserker squads and the only one really threatening me had to disembark, so I'd get another turn of shooting. At this point the squiggoth is slowly chewing threw some Spawn & the meganobz are off camera taking out a squad of berzerkers. Every gun I have is firing at the Lord but his invulnerable save is, well... invulnerable!


Here's that bugger again... just before charging my fancy new aard boyz and completely wiping them out in 1 combat.


I'm not sure we got past turn 3. We tied with 5 points each & drew the next series of cards just to see how it'd go. We figured we'd each probably get 1 point from our next draw, so still a tie on the next turn. I was wearing him down but the Chaos Lord was going to be a real issue for me to deal with, so it think it would have stayed close no matter how long we went.

Aard boyz never had a chance. Their trukk was wrecked turn 1, they got out & failed their pinning test, they snap shot once, then were charged and destroyed.

I do have a project on the blocks for my orks. That unpainted landing platform that Cam made for me. Might even get started on it this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed!

Have you ever figured out what your total Ork points were for the stuff you have complete?

No idea. Not as many as you might think... orks are cheap and I don't have a lot of the really high-priced figures painted.

Man. If only you had a gargantuan squiggoth...

That squiggoth is just so much win in the bat rep pics! Remind me, do you use it as a battlewagon or can you actually field a squiggoth in a normal ork army these days? (Or maybe you're using FW rules, etc)

Local group allows IA so I get to field it using its proper rules, which is very nice.

Actually, on that note Gits, I'd be happy to send you a set of 40k Mysterious Objective ModCubes to use in your games once I get my final set of samples later this month . I think they'd look really nice in your bat reps, and I owe you and a few of the other Wardens of the Maelstrom some freebies from having helped at the AdeptiCon booth! Just let me know which color you'd like (blue, green, or red).

That'd be great RiTides, I'd be happy to feature them in my bat reps at the local club, maybe even scare up additional business for you. I know people are already asking me if your cubes are "available" (i.e. for regular purchase). You'll have to let everyone know that once they're into regular production.
