I have been blocked from Dakka from my work computer, which is pretty much the only place I use a computer anymore.

Sorry it's been a while, I am still mostly blocked from Dakka, I just now got through.

Here are pictures I promised of the stuff I sold on ebay, the only things that haven't sold are the Old School Nurgle Terminators, the Plague Marines, and the Heldrake.











I have been pretty busy with my Word Bearers, the 40k chosen squad is done:


I even put transfers on for the first time!!!


I have also been working on a fairly heavily modified Soul Grinder, The chassis was almost all Defiler, so I added some sculpting to make it more daemonic:






It's also my first OSL in a LONG time.

Oh, and I have one 30k Word Bearers model in the works so far...a chaplain in terminator armor. I got the model on ebay, pretty sure it was recast, but I couldn't pass it up.
I also couldn't leave it as-is, had to modify it at least a little bit.





As of right now, he's base coated, waiting for some paint. I'm going for black with silver edging.

DStein, yeah, it took me forever to get around to drilling the exhaust.

I am pretty much dedicating the next 2 weeks to 30k stuff, so I'll try to do some painting on the Termi Chaplain. I am also working on assembling a MkIII armor Chaplain and a MkIV armor Diabolist. The regular troops will come along later, but I have visions of what I want the HQ to look like, and I need to get them done.

But Word Bearers can also ally Daemons in 30k, so I'll work on the Grinder too.

So, I have also been working on a Mk III Chaplain:




And also a Mk IV Diabolist or possibly another Chaplain, with either a Power Sword and Bolt Pistol, or a Power Fist and Plasma Pistol, or some combination of those.



So, he'll have a jump pack, but I don't have extra Mk IV shoulder pads, do you think Mk III shoulder pads would work?
I am adding artificer armor, I have started on the chest plate so far.


So, I'm asking for some help, what do you all think? Jump Pack Diabolist or Chaplain? Mk III Shoulder Pads? Power Sword? Power Fist? Bolt Pistol? Plasma Pistol? Any ideas will be considered.

I try to get through my work's firewall or whatever is keeping me out once or twice a day. I just got through! Yay!

I have some work to show:
I don't think I posted about the 30k Terminator Chaplain I was working on...so here is the pre-painted version:


He came with a Stormbolter, so that had to go, plus he had a Crux Terminatus which I was told was post-heresy, so I shaved that off. Other than that, I think he'll do just fine for 30k.
I also wanted to give him a power maul "crozious" from (I think) Grey Knights...anyway, I like the look, and I wanted to add flames:


And then, here is where he stands now, a few touch-ups to work on, and basing, but he'll be good for now.







I have also been working on the Diabolist, I tacked him together to get a good look at him. I am going with a Daemon Axe from the AoS Wrathmongers that I don't have with me, so that will have to wait...




And I tacked together the MkIII Chaplain too...




I've added the front half of a tabard, and flames from the maul...





That is where I'm at currently. Still some stuff to do, hopefully I'll be able to post some more stuff before I leave for home next week, we'll see.

Not a whole lot to show. But here goes:

I found an axe for my Diabolist to show how the taint of chaos took him over, I really like the look of it, and I'm excited to get this painted up!



I also started to work on a Tactical squad.




The arms that came with the missile launcher is the wrong armor, so I have to add Mk III armor to the forearms. Still working on that, and still putting together the rest of the squad. I'm heading home on Monday, so I won't get much more done.

I'll be back in a couple weeks and hopefully get started painting on the Diabolist and the Mk III Chaplain.

I came across it after searching for World Eaters - I'm coming in the opposite direction to you, planning to add some 30k style WE allies to my 40k WBs - and until the last page I've been thinking 'I hope this blog's still active'; I'm looking forward to seeing it keep growing! I've added quite a few of your projects to my ideas folder - I've been ruminating how to make Wrathmongers into Spawn and you've made them not look to me like they're wearing waders, which helps enormously

Love the look of the River Troll Prince. The first shot with Dragon wings worked for me - GW monsters tend to have very undersized wings, that could never support their weight (which can be explained by magic and are a necessity to make them viable gaming pieces), and the mismatch actually made its flight look biologically viable; the opposite direction you went makes me think of 8-bit Metroid bosses, and I love how it's turned out.

That Khârn is a beast. Can't wait for him to run at some Primaris and make them feel like the shorties! With regard to your cracked bone effect being mistaken for marble - perhaps a little trickle (or, with your sculpting mojo, spurt) of blood from the cracks, and an occasional fissure revealing marrow, might help guide the eye away from reading it as veined stone?

Is this plog still active? Khorne demands updates!

The Wrathmonger spawn, I can't take full credit for, I saw it on FaceBook, "Blog for the Blood god" He's got some crazy stuff!

The Nurgle Prince, yeah I like how he's all under sized and unimpressive, makes me chuckle to this day!

The cracked bone armor, I'm afraid it's a moot point, I've sold them all. I'm going almost 100% 30k now. I still have some CSM, but I'm trying to sell them.

Unfortunately, my beast Kharn has also gone the way of the eBay. It was bitter sweet, I'll miss him, but he funded a large portion of my 30k Word Bearers, so, it's all good.

I am still keeping all my daemons, because 30k Word Bearers can summon, and I'm keeping some CSM stuff like possessed so I can run my 30k in 40k games if needed.

Still active-ish. I'm not able to log on very often. Also, I haven't done much lately. I did base coat the 30k models seen above, but just have a small amount of other colors on the Diabolist, I just have not had much time lately. Unfortunately, not much Khorne stuff in the works, unless it's daemons, but still not much of that either.

I just got the rules for 8th Ed., but have not played anything. Mostly due to me selling off a majority of everything I had assembled.

But I figure it will only take a few years before I'm ready for a game.

It's been a while! Sorry.
I don't know if I mentioned here or not, but I ordered some of the Green Stuff Base rollers from Green Stuff World! Awesome stuff! I got the Celtic looking runic roller and the Daemonic looking Runic roller. My first attempt at both was iffy, but the second attempt was much better!!!

Just about done with the Word Bearers Diabolist. I think I am going to stick with the human head, but might switch out when I'm feeling naughty. Who knows! The head still needs some paint and touch ups.



Still some final touches to add to that one, and also the MkIII Chaplain, but I like the way the Chaplain is coming along!



I am in the midst of getting the Terminator Chaplain's base done, I'll post when it's done. One thing I want to get done is all the scroll work and transfers for these 3. I have the first 5 tac squad models base coated and ready for some detail too, so lots to do this week!

Hopefully it won't be 3 weeks before I can log on to show updates again!

I did a bit more, mostly just adding script to the scrolls, I am going back and forth on whether or not to put transfers of runes onto the armor of the Chaplains.

What do you guys think? Add transfers? Or no? Or just paint script on the open spaces on the armor?




Also, I think I'm done with the Diabolist's head. I still want to do some more highlights on the armor.




And I am almost finished with the first of the Mk III Armored Tactical squad.




And, last but not least, I have had this Skulltaker 70% painted for the last few years, I finally got him done, mostly just so I didn't have to look at him any more!

Wow, those white skulls really suit Bezerkers.

For the Chaplain and/or Diabloist, you could add one or two small subtle transfers to make them more obviously a Word Bearer. Either the Legion or a Chapter icon, or even just the Legion Numeral somewhere subtle..

I like the plain grey marine as well. Great stuff!

On a lighter note, I have some plans to make more berzerkers using the Age of Sigmar Wrathmongers or some of the similar units to become Berzerkers. Looking forward to that!

I have been giving this a lot of thought lately. I just didn't leave much room on either of the chaplains. I think maybe some transfers on the forearm armor for the chaplains, and on the knee plate of the Mk IV Diabolist.

And after some feedback, I think I am going to paint the inside panels of the Tac Marine's shoulder pads red before I apply transfers.
There are 4 more of this guy's brothers on the way, but painting is going slow again.

This is some a grade stuff. I really like the runes, that you modeled into the surface of the mkIII armour. Also excellent use of the flames. Your guys have a really visceral feel to them, very fitting to the zealous nature of the bearers of the word.

Also: Great work on that maulerfiend. I'm not a friend of the three-legged monstrosity that GW made and your conversion really takes away all of the weak points and makes the beast look like the giant feral monster that it should be!

Thank you! I had to look up visceral! Hahahaha! The runes took a while, I have one of those visors with the magnifying glasses on them. As for the Maulerfiend, I hate the head with the mouth closed, looks silly, but with it open, it has a different quality to it. I sold both of the ones I had, I guess I'll get more at some point, and I'll probably do the same thing again. I wonder if there is something like them that looks more Heresy Era-ish that I could substitute...

So, I ended up going with red shoulder pads, I like the look! Let me know what you think!




And I also have my second trooper almost done...





Neither of these minis have come out as clean as I had hoped, as much as I like the Mk III armor, it is not quick or easy to paint. Still, I'm happy with them so far.

I think the red pads really help it from being a monochrome soldier. They look great as a whole. Wicked smoke work on the mace of thumping +2.
