Your terrain turned out SWEET! Man that's decent. I hope you get bit by the bug and make more.

Glad you liked the tut. I learned a lot from other people by posting that. Dakka is such an awesome place for continuous improvement.

Cheers on the scenery front Skalk I'm not impressed by it but no my limitations

More Skyrar's Dark Wolves today

First a Long Fang pack Leader

Then we have a load of Grey Hunters

For the one in the top right corner I went for a Hulk Hogan look

The bottom right guy is really small, he's a 2nd edition metal model I got off ebay to fill in, here's a size comparison shot.

Still no sign of my replacement parts from FW, getting a bit worried now as next weekend is the last free one before the tournament for painting. I've undecorated the rest of the parts today and will paint them in parts and will give FW a call on Monday to chase them up and hopefully I should have finished everything. Oh I need to go back and add plants and pigment to all the Grey Hunter bases, might do that tomorrow

I'll post some more pics of the units with their plants etc so you can see them as a whole.

I picked up another rulebook the other day for a game call Deep Wars its an underwater skirmish game, haven't started reading it yet but will let you know what I think when I get that far, the minis look quite nice which was the reason for getting it

---------------

Today I finished painting the last few parts of my Skyrar's Dark Wolves army ready for their tournament next weekend. My FW replacement bits came just in time on Friday although they sent the wrong parts So I had to go to my back up plan the SAW, yep I ended up cutting through the sensor array base and cutting out the middle section which was a pain in the on both of them. But you would never know if you saw them

So here they are

Hyperios Air Defence Launcher's

I also have a pic as promised of the two Grey Hunter squads all together.

And there we have it that's the last of the Wolves I have planned for the foreseeable future.

I'm a bit stuck on what to do next I have to finish building my Death Guard, World Eaters and Sisters upto 1750 points each but I've lost my motivation for 40k minis at the moment. I have a load of armies planned as well. I think my tournament this coming weekend will either kill my interest for 40k completely or revive it depends how it goes.

I have loads of different things to paint on my table so I wont be depriving you of painted minis any time soon

You must have posted the same time as me

Yeah Sisters have a new codex as of yesterday, I haven't bought it yet but I have thought about giving them a boost they really need a second Exorcist.

Nashbashem wrote:Sad to find out that there will be no more Dark Wolves

Thanks Nash, it is sad but I've painted everything I wanted to do for them. If FW bring out some nice HH Space Wolf minis I'll revisit them for sure.

My list of armies I want to do for 40k is currently at 39 and this is the first to be fully completed.... I'm sure there will be something else you will like

Ok I'll sort something out for any army shot, with or without the Logan wing?

Also looks like I need to update my army profiles as well as they are well out of date.

With the Logan wing. And you'll want to run 3 exorcists (in my blog I've done a little Codex review, make of it what you will) I likewise have many projects I'd like to do, but it's very satisfying to have a finished one

It might be a while before the army pic but I will attempt it when we see some sunlight next!. With the Sisters I think I'll go with two Exorcists and the Rets in a bastion with Jacobs and a simulacrum which I believe lets them use their faith ability three times and that's with their 4 heavy bolters and the bastions two.

-------------------------

I went to my tournament yesterday did really bad but enjoyed myself and it gave me all my motivation back for 40k. I did walk away with best painted objectives so the Wolves didnt do too badly.

Today I've mostly been assembling the pile of metal minis in my draw there's still a Fire Dragon Exarch as I don't know which weapon to give him yet as I haven't got round to picking up the Eldar codex, I'm waiting for the Biel Tan supplement to come out first then I'll get them both.

So name that character

Project wise its kind of looking like this at the moment in the following order

Death Guard - Need to replace the Oblits I sold, add another PM squad and make a top secret project squad. I think thats it for them and then they are finished.

World Eaters - Need to add another Berzerker squad with rhino and a Vindicator, Predator, Storm Eagle, HQ and a termi unit when the new FW ones come out. Due to not being able to undercoat FW resin in the winter by hand they may get pushed back.

Sisters - Need to pick up the codex but as mentioned above a bastion will be needed and I need to make it look nice and gothic for them, I've Immolators are all the rage!

Thousand Sons - Well I've sold nearly everything I had for these apart from the Defilers, I'm waiting for new plastic TSons or FW ones whichever is first.

New armies with finished lists, I wont list the rest as theres too many lol.

Exorcists
Iron Warriors
Emperors Children
Night Lords
Black Legion
Omega Marines
Hawk Lords
Black Templars
Celestial Lions

I didn't realise they were all marines

Actually I'm going to list the rest as its a good way for me to keep track of my insanity

Biel Tan
Red Scorpions
Necron
Tau with Khorne Dameon allies
Death Skulls
Mantis Warriors (Dark Angels)
Dark Eldar
Death Watch
Angels Encarmine
Howling Griffons
Dragon Warriors
Ultra Marines
Snake Bites
Sam Hein
Corsairs (Eldar)
Sons of Horus
Dark Angels
Fire Hawks
Slaanesh Daemons
Nurgle Daemons
Tzeentch Daemons
Tyranid
Blood Axes
Imperial Beastmen
Genstealer Cult

I think thats it The only army missing is Imperial Guard who will be acting as allies for a lot of the above where needed.

lol Yggs I've only completed one army so far a long long way to go.

A break down of the tournament was as follows

Game 1 vs Blood Angels

He was running a drop pod assault army and started with two combat squads on the board, I took first turn and dropped Logan and his Multi melta Long Fang squad between them and promptly wiped out one squad that turn. He then panicked and dropped his entire army in his own deployment zone to take out Logan and his squad. They died and I then held my ground while he wondered back across the board it was close to a draw he just pulled off a win by having a lone sergeant in my deployment zone at the end of the game.

Game 2 vs Blood Angels

Yep Blood Angels again and it was nearly an identical list but he had less assault squads but they all came in drop pods again. He went first dropped everything as close to my objective in my Defence Line as he could and we had a big old scrap. While this was going on Logan and his Long Fangs dropped into his deployment zone and ripped apart his tactical squads holding his objective. At the end of the game we had swapped sides and objectives for a draw. The Thunderwolves went on a killing spree in this game, his Librarian took a Thunder Hammer to the head

Game 3 vs Tau

He was running three Riptides and we were playing annihilation long ways, lets just say I got my ass handed to me. If it was objectives I might have been fine as he didn't have many models but long ways vs 3 Riptides na no chance. Although my Thunderwolves did take one out in close combat which was my only moment of the game The guy running them was really great though so I enjoyed the game which was what counts.

Out of all three armies there were no flyers, but the Hyperios Missile Launchers still did quite well sat behind the ADL with an Iron Priest on the Quadd Gun.

no I have very limited hobby funds so I'm never that far behind the wall of plastic and metal and I never play with unpainted minis so that helps to keep the curve of unpainted minis low.

Very interesting idea Gir'. As I'm currently planning to add some Tau to my army, it'll be nice to see someone else corrupting the little blue people.

Not had much time for painting this weekend and there's been lots of rain and wind so the pile of metal has remained unprimed, so I had to find something else on my painting table and went for an Eldar Warlock. I just finished applying the gloss to the jems.

I am afraid though its that time of year where my photos look like gak as there's not enough natural light.

So here's the finished Warlock for my Biel-Tan army.

Thanks guys. I wanted to go a step higher with the highlights on the armour to make it stand out from the clothes.

I really enjoyed painting him very different from the Dark Wolves, I have quite a few more Eldar already primed so you might see some more next weekend.
