Coming along nicely. How exactly are you painting the Death Guard scheme?
Now that's a question
From white undercoat
I paint the green armour first in a watered down Vallejo Heavy Green
Then wash the entire model in Army Painter Soft Tone
Then go over the armour joins and detail bits with GW Agrax Earthshade
The above two steps can be changed for a single coat of GW Devlin Mud if you have any left. Agrax dries streaky really hate that so be carful not to get in on plain surfaces like arms or legs..
Green armour is highlighted Vallejo Dead Flesh
Washes applied in various places all GW, Baal Red, Leviathan Purple and Lamenters Yellow.
Note: I do all the washes from the soft tone to this point at the same time while they are all still wet so they mix nicely
Weapons rust effect is base coat Vallejo Panzer Dark Rust, dry brush Light Rust, dry brush Yellowish Rust, final dry brush Vallejo Air Gungrey (metallic silver)
Add gloss to make parts look icky.
And after that you should have some lovely Plague marines
Archer wrote:That Darklands goatman would be a fantastic beastman stand in for Warhammer. Do they have much of a range of fellow goat headed warriors?
There's five of these guys so far and some bigger minotaur ones as well.
inmygravenimage wrote:Plague marines are foul and excellent. Shoddy from Spellcrow, mind you.
Yeah was a bit disappointing.

Skipping ahead now with update day seven as I wanted to get all the Plague Marines to this point
Just the bases left to do now for these, will probably save that for next weekend, mean while I'll try and start the Oblits this week.

Lots of nice work Gir'.
A bit of feedback on the last lot, bare in mind this is coming from someone that has not managed to get OSL to work himself, your OSL looks a bit too blue where is hits to armour pieces. Less like a blue-lit surface and more blue-painted. Unfortunately, I can't offer any suggestions on how to make it look like I think it should. Keep at it though.

Nice work. I still haven't decided how I'll paint my Death Guard/Plague Marines. I've got probably half a dozen painted in about as many schemes (from a long time ago, now). Going "proper" dirtied-up Death Guard isn't something you see all that often, but you've got them looking very nice indeed.

Cheers Azazelx, Nurgle guys are quite fun to paint.

A few bits are a bit blue but when you look at them from table top distance they look ok, I may add a bit more to the highlights after the tournament.
----------------------------------------
Been a bit quite the last few days I have been trying to get these Nurgles infested dudes finished.
The Plague Marines are now finished but they've eaten my basing brush so I need to try and find another cheap one but have been failing in that department so far.
They don't look great in these photos not sure why but you get the idea.
I started on the Oblits today, I've finished four so far. The below pic shows the first three finished better pics will be supplied when the are all done.
I also had a nice supply drop from FW on Friday.
A few things for next years KoW project some Empire Ironsides and Elspeth Von Drakken, shes such a lovely model I wanted to pic one up in case they decided to stop making them like the did with the Landship. I also want some Chaos Dwarf minis but I couldn't afford them in this order as I picked up a couple of Sicaran's for my Mantis Warriors. Really cant wait to crack on with these to be honest I still need to pick up a few more things for the MW's, they will be the next big project.
After the Nurgle guys I'll be working on my PanO minis for Infinity as I finally got my paints then it's MW time maybe a Sister splash as well alongside them, depends if I can get the girls up to 1750 points with a few purchases for a tournament in October.

I think the Plaguemarines/Death Guard look great. The only thing I'd change would be doubling the size of the photos, so I can get a really good look at them. And yes, that's a request!
Or individual pics of them at double the size.

I forgot to take the picture of the Oblit who didn't come out , but he is in one of the group shots below.
And we of course have Chicken flamer head guy
Group Shots, one of these will be sitting on the side line for the tournament this coming weekend as I'm only running eight.
So that's all the Nurgle for now I'm afraid.
While I had some spare time today I re-painted little Annik's skin as I wasn't happy with it, I learnt quite a bit painting the oblits.
