Well you dont have much longer to wait. I have to paint the window and the rest of the pilot (I have his skin done) and the jet is finished. So make sure you check back ya?

And thanks for the compliments everyone

Ive seen a few people make Ratrod trukks and what not, and always thought, how awesome. So I decided, since Im redoing my buggies, I have to have at least 1! that is a Ratrod. Soooo heres what I bashed out and in primer. Note the rear wheels are not on permanently yet, so if they seem off from one pic to the next, that is why.

Enjoy!

This buggy is in the paint shop right now. I ALMOST have the yellow right on the boddy. Then its paint chips, rust, and the cool car club logo that every ratrod seems to have on its side somewheres. Still kicking names around like
Wheel Bustaz
or
Rokkit Poppaz

Something like that.

I apologize if this was asked before or already answered but where did you get the wheels for your buggies?

Well the giant rear wheels are easy. I get them from Family Dollar, though Ive seen these trucks in other dollar stores. Anyways, the big rear ones are from a "rev and go" type truck toy. The fronts, have become tricky. A few years ago I could find tractor toys and smaller truck toys that had a couple different sized wheels that were just PERFECT for the front wheels. Now no matter where I look, I cant find the right sized wheels. Soooo luckily I have a couple wheels left that I plan on casting next year around tax time. So if your interested around that time, I could sell ya some

Wow, dollar store toy trucks. That's a fantastic idea. I'm trying to custom build some Ork Kannons and need to find some decent wheels to start as a platform. I used the wheels that came with the model gun I used as a base but they don't look very Orkish.

Those rear thick wheels you were using look like they would be perfect. I probably won't be able to wait that long lol, but thank you for the fantastic idea. Dollar store toy truck wheels it is!!

Thank you! Great work btw, love it.

I dont think the wheels I have on the back would work, because they are large, Im talking slightly taller than a Space Marine on his base, and nearly as wide as a space marine. But still, dollar store it up, you might find a gold mine. My only suggestion is if you find tires you like, buy up whatever they come on in bulk, because dollar stores are notorious for not selling things very long. Again, thats how I ran into the problem with the front tires I need. Ive used them from everything from buggies, to kannons to bikes, but now Ive only 1 set left and cannot buy them

Thats a sweet kannon you made BTW

Hrmm, yeah. I guess I'll have to gauge the size when/if I find something.

And Thank you!

That buggy looks great KC, nice job man!

I like the fact that the boyz built it as a ratrod then decided to just stick some dakka on the roof - car surfing with extra boom

Nice gun Gylen, you could try adding some plates to those tyres, or maybe even just a line of rivets around them - that should orkify them nicely.

Welp its been awhile, and mostly because my camera took a pooh out of the blue leaving me no reliable way to take pics. Avatar720 and I were chatting and spit balling some ideas for a special character that would be myself in 40k. They got so good, that I HAD to jump into making the guy, and so far, I frigging LOVE it. Obviously I didnt get to really take WIP shots of Cracka being made, but hes at a near complete state, and really only needs green stuff work done and thats it. I have to fill in 1 wrist, his reposed leg, his neck and build his beard!!!

So really not TOO much work to be done, and figured Id show you lot where hes at currently. OH yea, Im also tossing around the idea of taking a grot and making it carry a crazy shoota/bigshoota for his, since no matter where I put the shoota on him, it just looked too busy.
Any ways, enjoy! and as always C&C folks!

Well Ho-lee-karap! I took a good long break from the boyz and 40k in general. Just needed time to collect my thoughts, and take a breather from the hobby. So I figured what better way to jump back into the swing of things, then with a scratch build project! Im going to end up with a pair of Stompas once Im done with this whole she bang, BUT while I was using my heat gun to shape the PVC into a stompa armored skirt.....well the blasted heat gun went nuclear and blew up in perfect Orky fashion. It was glorious. I ended up being able to shape 1 of the Stompa fronts. It doesnt look like a bunch of work, and really, I should of taken more pics of the build, Ill do that on the second one. Anywho, heres where the spanna boyz and meks left off for the day.

From the basic concept we got the feet, ankles knees and legs together and positioned.
The front armored skirting in place
the "chest" section
And the basic part of the back wrapped.

Now nothing is finished yet, as Im going to rough up the feet and other edges, add a crap load of armor plates and rivets, build a head, engine w/smoke stacks and the weapons. So tons to do, but at least we got a solid start, and something for the boyz to work off of. Now, its not at its full height either, the "chest" section will have arms coming off it, as well as shoulder mounted platforms for guns and whatsits, and last but not least the head of course. So what youre seeing is going to have a head attached plus all the gubbins to add some inches. So itll definitely be the size of the GW stompa. Anywho, without further ado.

Some Goff rockas and Sgt. Shotgun for scale.

Ahh Selv thanks for stopping by. Just a warning I probably won't get much done this weekend as I have a ton of plans to keep me away from my boyz. But I have several things in the pipe line to produce.

After this stompa I'll be building some grot tanks, then a second stompa, painting some boyz as well (no surprise there right? ) as well as finish of my custom Warboss Da King Cracka and paint. So that's a decent list to chew in for the time being
