As for the Warshrine mutants Im thinking I may not actually use them now as Ive just built some Raptors and Im planning some bikes for my FA slot. If youre interested in taking them let me know.

Would be interested in more of a trade as I've spent most of my available funds for now... I've got plenty of spare bikes/raptor parts (and other random stuff besides) if you're willing to trade for them pm me that would be awesome.

The fast attack slot does fill rather quickly... especially when you consider the obligatory helldrake (I'm still having problems figuring how to make one).

You have PM, I have a few ideas for my Heldrake none of which involve a dragon Im thinking a squat brutal looking fighter, something that looks like it would be a fast hard hitting unit. Ill get onto that once I finish my current Mauler/Forge Fiend build.

The new DA flyer is not bad at all, just so expensive. I can't really do a traditional flyer for this army, it's got to be some tentacled daemon engine. I tried with some valkyrie engines but they are too big, I might be back to square one.

The thing that jumps to mid when I look at your army is the sentinel thingys from the Matrix movies, the giant tentacled machines. How about maybe the Storm Talon engines in place of the Valk ones?

The thing is I was thinking of making something based off a manta ray or the daemon screamers, so I'd want the intake to be where either the mouth is or the gills. Something a bit more integrated into the body, I still might use the valk engines but just the ends of them and have one or two integrate into the body and come out the rear.

Yeah I want my stuff to be sentinel-like, although more gothic, organic and random. I'll have to put up some pics of where i get inspiration one of these days.

Arent the Storm Raven engines abit smaller than the Valk engines? A little shorter I think, I really like the idea of the Ray type flyer

Yeah shorter, but square and not as much detail on them. Cool bits, but not what I'm looking for.

Thanks guys! Yeah I may get around to doing tutorials eventually, but for now I have a batrep in the works and by that I mean it's filmed but we need to do the voiceovers and final polishing of it. There are good OSL tut's out there, if you have any specific questions or problems don't be afraid to ask, I can't babble on about how I do everything but I don't mind sharing.

Just some more WIP's of the flyer, finally I've got a good idea what to do with it





I call it a Void Seeker. Like the helldrake, it's a daemon engine and spends it's time attached to the outside of mechanicus vessels, or hunting in space, so I gave it a lot of eyes and a little radar thing.

Design wise, it's a hybrid between something from the Matrix and a Cylon Raider, and the Hell blade designs from forge world.

It might be hard to see in the pics, but I've done some work on the wings so far (it's all got rivets, I'm using the glue method so it's hard to see, and panelling). I'm still not sure what to do on the main body but it most likely will be a mixture of more segmented armor plates/wing panelling, some kind of spine-like structure along the middle of the body, and a lot more wires and tubes or exposed machinery. There's a vendetta engine (cut off half-way) in the middle kind of like an in-board engine. And yes I know what you're thinking, there will be tentacles and blades attached. As for the gun... I really would rather not give it a flamer since I think the Hades cannon would look cooler and more space-fighter like.... (flamers don't work so well in space).... but it will probably just be magnetized since in the game the flamer is a bit better. Although I don't know really I might just keep this guy as an anti-air beast.

I'm open to suggestions, but otherwise enjoy the pics!

Also in other news... I've begun accumulating raw material for a terrain board. Sent some old MTG cards to the warstore to trade for a bunch of terrain materials, if it all works out it will be two sets of pegasus chemical plants, and a crap load of pigments, water effects, sand texture and w/e else I need. Also I recieved a top secret item in the mail (I posted a teaser pic in the League terrain comp thread, link below), that will go with the terrain board. I'm hoping to do something based roughly on this picture:



For those who don't know, it's a photo by this awesome artist Edward Burtynsky. It's a river of nickel tailings, waste from a mine, which is pretty much a river of rust It makes you think of a river of blood but it's not so cheesy.

Is the body built up from hot glue?

The board idea sounds cool, sounds similar to an ash waste board. Neil101 did a great ash waste diorama and had a good formula for the dusty waste stuff. Looked great.

Yeah, It's going to have some cables coming off. Still haven't decided but I might just shell out for the helldrake bits... but it won't be a single tail because that would block the engine. And yes, the body is built up from hot glue and random stuff I had lying around, most of it will get a shell of green stuff much like the head.

I'll check out Neil's stuff. Although I do want the soil/sand to be quite black like the pic, to contrast with the bright rust-orange of the river, but more on that later once I get to it. For the time being the idea is to use mostly spackle over foam and vallejo products for the detailed areas with sand on the banks of the river.

Thanks... I think it could use more eyes what do you think

If anything I would find a way to stick 1 or 3 big eyes as well just to diversify it

Totally see what you are going for now, its looking great so far, does put me in mind of the old Batwing slightly

Nice touch with the eyes as well, those will be very effective once painted.

More Void Seeker updates:





It's taking some time to come together... but that's to be expected. I gave it two magnetized "turrets" underneath the wings, I figure that goes along pretty well with the rules and if I want to I could change the weaponry in the future. I'm really trying to give it more of a 'space fighter' look... so I'm putting small thrusters on it in different places (for maneuvering in space), some larger thrusters on the bottom and a bigass engine/reactor in the middle... there is a lot of machinery around it so you can imagine that it could switch from a jet engine (atmospheric) to thrusters (void). And more of a non-aerodynamic look in general, like a Star Wars fighter.

I like where that is going. Good work.

I am super-excited for that flyer, mate! Having just built and painted a flyer myself, I know I am never painting another Heldrake again, so viable alternatives could be very interesting to me. Looking forward to your next update on that flyer!

Thanks guys, the comments motivate me to work faster on it! I'm expecting all my terrain stuff in a package soon as well... soon I'll be forced to work on that stuff.
