You know something I never see on bikes, is actual turned forks.

That is, the bike is always "Front wheel straight with back wheel" even if they're tilted, when a real bike would have the handlebars and front suspension turned.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

If yer an Ork, why dont ya WAAAGH!!

I know exactly what you mean buddy, I've been riding motorcycles for years and I must admit that and the fact that I've no idea how the throttle is controlled on these bike bugs me a bit lol. As for the wheel/forks it's honestly way more work than I'm willing to put into what will essentially be a fast possibly kamikaze unit.

I ride a bike as well and I noticed that (and I like to turn the head the way it's turning), but it took some surgery to turn the fork if I recall on those other bikes I built. In the world of 40k, I like to think the bike itself controls the throttle through some kind of evil sentience so I wouldn't worry about that.

Man I love bikes! I don't know anything about real bikes, but these look great. (And thanks, Anvildude, for that point about posing bikes! I'll try to remeber that whn I build mine.). Love the Power Sword in the 3rd picture, too. Nice work, Bio.

Dying's the easy way out. You won't catch me dying. They'll have to kill me before I die!

Fantastic work on those bikes, buddy! In fact, seeing these almost immediately made me pretty much tear apart my own squad of bikes to make them look as dynamic as yours

Thanks guys, Im actually looking at thses pics and feel the bikes as they are are looking decent enough (to me anyway) that I probably wont change them too much, I may add a few skull trophies or some chains here and there but nothing major.

Meade, thats a great explanation as to how the bikes are controlled.

Poses and tilt on the bikes is superb, the standard way GW do them makes them look so crappy imho. You've transformed them there. Big inspiration for doing my own!

Thanks for the acknowledgement about Blood and Skulls. That was cool of you.

Bikes- 2 things. 1- forks won't necessarily be turned. Those bikes look like cruisers (instead of sports) and would likely have really stiff suspension, riding the edge of the tread on a lean than pushing the handlebars.

2- I can't believe that I just saw a Khorne Berzerker, Blood for the Blood God, Skulls for the Skull Throne, Kill Main Burn... wearing a a helmet. I know from a modeling aspect it's to show the affiliation w/ Khorne, but I think you could effect the same result w/ icons and banners and lose the lids.

Please don't get the impression that I don't like the builds, they are awesome!

Side note- IRL I think helmet laws suck BUT you would never ever find me riding w/o one. My policy is ATGATT and having been down twice (neither one was anything I could do about. Stupid cagers ) I am 100% convinced that were it not for my gear I'd be a mangled mess. Chaps jackets and helmets are easily replaced but I have only 1 Skalk Bloodaxe.

ATGATT is the only way to go buddy, in the uk the hemet law is mandatory but to be honest even if it wasnt Id still gear up. Ive been down a couple of times myself, one was definitely my own fault, full lean on cold tyres on a damp day somehow resulted in a highside!? The other was a cager trying to kill me.
As for the hemets on the models I have to say I really despise most bare headed marines. I did think of giving them differet heads as with my Raptors who will all have skull helms but then I thought about it and these guys are basically just Zerkers who found some bike keys, right? I have a game today against Blood Angels using my Raptors and Bikes for the very first time so will be interesting to see how they get on. Hopefully ill have more modelling updates tonight.

You will get biker bases to them right? Cav bases hurt the eyes even if the riders themselves look great

Wow! What a game, we went 1500 points World Eaters vs Blood Angels and it was very closely fought. The game ended on the 6th turn and all I'd lost was 1 biker, 1 Zerker squad and my 5 Termis (unfortunately my Lord was one of them) I wiped out two Tac squads, a Dev squad and 4 Terminators. We drew on victory points. My bikers did fantastically counting for 1 Termi, the first Tac squad and the Dev squad. My Defiler lasted the whole game even though it weathered at least 10 Lascannon shots from The Dev squad and a Predator Annihilator.

I also picked up some Terrain pieces as well as a box with pretty much another full building inside. As soon as I get home ill stick some pics up of the terrain.

As for the bases on the bikes, they'll stay for now as the cavalry bases dont really bother me too much.

Ok heres some pics of the terrain pieces I picked up, they need some TLC but Im loving them. im planning on making the Manufactorum into a corpse filled haven for the WE, I may leave the other one as an Imperial ruin.

Well, this isn't brilliant or anything, but here you go:

Just me fudging around with Photoshop for ten minutes there. May need quite a bit of additional cleanup

A little more desaturated:

And, just because I can, the last picture transmitted by a pict-drone in the inner districts of the Theraspin Hive:

Hope this helps, buddy!

All that needs done is to remove the base edge and the 'modern' background from the original picture- then add any of those filters to it.

Must be the same manufacturer surviving for 38,000 years due to his outstanding products

Anvildude wrote:All that needs done is to remove the base edge and the 'modern' background from the original picture- then add any of those filters to it.

Indeed. Like I said, it's a fairly primitive manipulation, and I used the first, slightly futuristic and burning cityscape I could find on the net. The background would be very easy to exchange.

Anyway, here's a slightly tidied-up version. I also removed the base edge, like Anvildude suggested.

My package from Machinator arrived just as I was leaving for work this afternoon so I had to wait aaaallll day to get home tonight and get cracking, I didnt take any before pictures as I was a bit too excited to start gluing the jaggy bits to my tank

The quality of this kit is fantastic at first glance there was a lot of flash but most of that came off in the basin when I washed the bits, the rest was easy enough to remove by gently sliding a finger nail along it.

The assembly is fiddly in places but no more annoying than the standard Imperial style tracks but I think the little extra effort is more than worth it when the result looks as mean as this.

Next step is the complete rebuild of the Land Raider, Ill hopefully get onto that tomorrow night after work.
