Awesome Galorn, take your time getting those molded up, I have a feeling they will sell themselves if they are really nice casts!

The Mk1 can be flat-backed, no need to try and cast the back detail on that one.

There were some vintage Praetorian minis at GenCon, but he wanted $7-15 each for them, no way. The Wargames Factory figs were $15 for a box of 20 figs on the sprue.

Not a problem. I have a spare Russ chassis lying around and I was trying to come up with something fun and =]_,= worthy to build out of it. I'm not running a third russ in my army list any time soon, but I'd like to start working more with plasticard, especially since I think my Hydra conversion will require some scratch building to make it work.

The treads on the Malcador are the same size (same sprue actually) as the Russ and Chimera treads. You should take a look at some of the different FW Russ variants, like Tank Destroyers and such, there are a lot of cool things you could do with a Russ Chassis, even without a turret. My first ever Plasticard work was turning a Chimera Kit into a Salamander Scout. I think it is the best place to start with Plasticard!

I'm going to need to build a bigger table!! 6x4 may not be enough anymore!

-I can go golf 18 holes with a cart, beer, etc. and spend $40, it lasts an afternoon, then it's gone.
-We can go to a movie, get popcorn, drinks, and candy and Spend $40, it lasts 2 hours, then it's gone.

Or I can buy models and have something to do for weeks/months and have something to show for it

Well, yesterday I poured 5 pounds of plaster into them, and got about 6 pours from all 7 Hirst molds I got. It's enough to get started building anyways. I think I've found a Dental Plaster supply company here in Fort Wayne that sells 50lb boxes for $50. I just need to call them to check and stop in to pick one up.

I have read that Pottery Plaster is also good to use, but If I can get the real deal dental stuff, I'm pretty sure It goes farther than the art plaster/permastone stuff I've been using. The grey pieces you see are the sample packet of dental plaster that Hirst gives you when you buy a mold. It's just better all-around from my limited experience with it.
