Great look so far mate although you may need to stop the light bleed with some patch work, and you want to smash up my cars

dont worry about the light bleedthrough... after priming and basecoating that thing you wont notice anything... i can´t imagine it otherwise...

No, I just like the look of the cars and they turned up in a search on ebay, I have to say I am glad the plastic is a hard plastic and not that soft crap.

I bought 3 sets of 4 cars so a little conversion work will be done here and there, so maybe a slightly damaged car may appear with some work

I was going through some old stuff and found a load of conversion bits and minis and thought they would make a nice gang, then I needed vehicles as well but wanted something more civilian style

Hence the search on ebay and these popped up and I thought of your thread and FO and had to buy them, well come on the look is to cool not to use, the gangers will be slick stylised gangers with a sci-fi feel to them.

I agree with El Vik on the bleed-through issue. After it's painted, I doubt there will be any bleed-through. However if you are still concerned about it, prime and paint the inside around the lights too.

As for the rest of the 20+ pages I had to catch up on....

But after you posted the game shot of it, I think you need to build a Nuka-Cola Fridge as well!

I don't think paint will be enough on the bottom, will it? I'll have to cover the sides of the LEDs with something so it doesn't bleed that rectangular light chamber under the interior. I really bit off more than I can chew with this damn project, it's gotta get done, and I still haven't even started on the rear circuit, nor do I know how I am going to get the rear fin tail lights to be lit. That plan went ploin-shaped too.

LDD, would you be willing to part with 1 set of them?

Well, you can always cover the bleed-through areas with masking tape if the area won't be visisble. That blue painter's tape should work.

I don't envy you on the scope of this project. You really have you work cut out for you.

But if you don't push yourself to do things outside your comfort zone, you will never find out what you are capable of!

I know you can do this. If anyone can, you can.

If those LEDs are just for the light out the bottom, you could potentially seal all around the LEDs with opaque glue (like from a hot glue gun thing). That would stop the LEDs from lighting the rest of the area.

Or just use some tinfoil.

Speaking of tinfoil, I've seen people take the marx cars, cover them with foil, then use the foil as a mold to make a bunch of them for scrap piles too.

Pretty fantastic looking cars for FO terrain. Have no idea what the light-up thing is though.

I'd have thought that primer and paint would hide those rectangular bleedthroughs, maybe a coat of black inside if you're that concerned - I'm assuming the circles are downward facing spots? It's been a while since I last saw it in action so can't recall the layout

Yeah, feel your pain. Some models just seem to want to make things difficult.

It's not the model itself, it's flawless. Everything fits absolutely perfectly, just like all new digital-designed kits, it's my damn fool ideas to light it that have given me problems for months now.

been meaning to say... they have the kit your building in a chain model shop here in the UK called "Model Zone" for about £80, its on clearance :S

This big 8-window model? Or the 4-window model? -The 4-window TV version is a smaller scale, but has more detailed interior rooms than this bigger one does for some strange reason.

when i´ve read this i instantly thought of terragenesis too...they built a wall of wrecked ars this way iirc... was on my try out list for so long...

@ LDD- Man those cars are wicked awesome! They remind me a LOT of the Limos for the Genestealer Cult posted in White Dwarf many, many (many) years ago. Those are so perfect. I want one. Or two. Would fit on my board as wrecks, or even functional vehicles. Stats for Necromunda maybe.

@ Dave- You'll find a way out of this at the last minute and produce something incredible (again).

Several layers of black primer will do it, had to do the same for a lighted Starship Enterprise many years ago

I don't want to use black, not inside, I figured opaque is opaque is opaque, so I tried Vallejo Light Grey primer inside

Yeah, the only light-blocking technique's I've seen: solid black, or aluminum foil.

You will have to test it Dave to see if that primer worked or not.
