Painting Update 4!

Yo! So still no sign of my Infinity order so back to those zombies I go.
I thought I felt like a spot of painting...however half way in I completely lost interest and rushed him as a result this guy is by far my least fav to date. What do y'all think?

I have to say he looks ok in this pic if I'm honest but doesn't fit well with the others at all and that yellow over black undercoat was a really dumb choice.
I just about rescued it by making it filthy but thats lazy painting IMHO so yeah...at least that's another down

I think he looks cool, love the bleeding eye sockets and the yellow doesn't look bad at all though it is quite a bright colour, like he was going jogging at night when he got turned. Oh and he looks slightly like a zombie Bruce Willis.

Overall I think your painting is of a really high standard and you should do it more!

HA HAH AH HA yes he does kind of look like Bruce give him a vest, no seriously I actually prefer this one don't know if that is a good thing or not though

The colour looks great and the eyes are a really cool idea, if not a little blood thirsty mind but thats why I like it.

So don't be so harsh on your self it looks great nice work

Zombie in yellow looks quite good in my opinion. Nice contrast from the usual brown / gray / drab they get painted in (and I'm guilty of that big time, I have 100 Plague Zombies for a Necromunda scenario I like to run form time to time).

Dude bleeding eyes make this guy look awesome!
I can understand you not being as pleased with the yellow, but the dirtying up looks realistic, because lighter colours show up dirt and grime more.

And man those eyes, just damn bro. Nice eyes.

that's some pretty great technique you've got going on there, reminds me of PDH's style. I love the cracks/seeping corruption on the head of the guy being trodden on, looks fantastic. Looking forward to seeing the next member of the gang painted in a few months.

Excellent work, love the paintjob on the face! The "new" plastic warhammer models like that one and the nurgle lords are very useful for Inquisimunda

Edit: Woah! Just realised something. A few months ago I saw the blanchitsu stuff in WD and wanted to do something similiar. I decided I wanted to do one iqnuisitor gang and one mutant gang. I theen I googl'ed for inspiration and bookmarked a blogthread here on Dakka for inspiration, just realised it was this thread . And in your thread you had a link to PDH that also was a major inspiration before I started off

And to think you were worried about doing him justice! I really like the brown robes and the soul seepage is somewhat unpleasant.

It's great work on the brown robes dirtying to black on th bottom, yet more inspiring stuff!

There's a lot going on in such a small space (said by the guy that has been working almost exclusively on terrain for the last few months ). Purple OSL on the eyes really works, and I really like the color mix and highlights on the ethereal face escaping from the canister (nice touch w/ the zombie drum on that).

Another example of the artistry and craftsmanship you command. Well done.

Love the ghost face on the back.

Wow he really is green. I think we all know that the mysterious experiment the Mechanicus were up to now: Human Guardsman + Ork DNA = Atlas. Tut tut tut bad mechanicus.

I am really looking forward to seeing him in the flesh to see the yellow coming through. He looks really nicely painted. I love that heavy stubber! I hope he is glued to his base next time I pick him up too

Pretty happy with him although he's been a little rushed, wet blending on his sword was difficult, painting eyebrows was a nightmare too! I wanted to do some freehand gothic filigree on his armor etc but just didn't have time and not sure my hand is steady enough to be honest!
