So, that's almost €10 over something they declared as $30

None of which means you have to pay them. If they were holding the package hostage you'd have little choice (practically at the very least) but really? You just accepted a package without agreeing to pay that - they actually don't have much to work with to make you pay. Well, whatever you like - but if/when I get such a letter they'll be in for a... colourful reply.
If it happens, I hope yours is easier to read, mine is faded as all feth, they were probably too stingy to buy new toner or something.

Perhaps they were hoping that if you had trouble reading it you would be more likely to just pay up and move along. Sadly, there are some people who fall for that kind of thing.

Howdy Folks!

So I just wanted to announce that Feb 1st, 2013 will be the official retail release date for Blackwater Gulch! It will be available in fine game shops all over. You can find stores that carry or can order BWG at GameStoreLocator.com, or you can order them directly from the source at shop.GameSalute.com.

The initial release will include The Clancy Gang Starter Set, The Vigilance Committee Starter Set, Los Bandidos Mexicanos Starter Set, The Bloodwolf Tribe Starter Set, Hired Guns: Desperados Support Pack and the full color Blackwater Gulch Rulebook. We actually sold out of our Hired Guns already! getting more made now

Next order of business, seems a bunch of backers for the new campaign never got the email from Kickstarter for the Pledge Manager update. So, here's a link to it. It's only open to backers, not for the public (sorry!)

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/springboard/blackwater-gulch-rebels-and-reinforcements/posts/383771

Lastly, I finally got the shipment of figures for the pro-painted gangs from the first campaign. They look really great. I'll be sending those orders out on Saturday

I suspect some got the update but are deliberatly not acting on it so they can 'add more money at KS prices' when they have it

You can see some quite clear examples in the relic knights discussions of this

you'll also have the usuall lost emails, and the 'we'll that project's finished I don't need to read this' bunch

That link in the update gives me this: "ERROR: We couldn't find your form. Please check the URL and try again. "

(I had it open on my iPad a few days ago - didn't fill it in then because it'd be easier on a desktop I thought, and I couldn't find how to upgrade pledge level. I'm considering bumping $30 to $100 but not in add-ons; I'd like the pledge level. how do I do that?)

Hmm that's strange, the link works for me though.. try it again, maybe it was something funky with the interwebs for a sec?

I do know a few US distributors are carrying it, but I don't know about the ones in Europe. But I do know a couple of stores were going to stock the game. There was one in Germany that I was talking to, Pumika... http://www.pumika.de/shop/modellbau-tabletop/blackwater-gulch/

But you should be able to find others on GameStoreLocator.com

I figured I'd post here since I haven't gotten any response from gamesalute. I still have not received my rewards from the original kickstarter. I have been out of town for a few weeks dealing with a personal matter but my house was attended to someone was at my home. I emailed gamesalute again tonight but was hoping that perhaps Necros you might make mention of it. It was frustrating to see the miniatures for sale at Black Diamond Games in concord today (maybe he also pledged?) when I have not yet seen mine. I was understanding of the delays in production and packaging but I expect that this will be resolved. To hear nothing back after my first email was disappointing.

That's odd. Every time I emailed them, I heard back the next business day.
I've heard the stories about them and, while I wish they'd been more pro-active about my situation (they didn't have an address for me, though, somehow, they had my order and knew what I was getting), I was satisfied with the level of communication I received.

I'm going to ask the typical stupid question; Have you checked your spam folder?

Regardless, I hope you get your models.

Eric

P.S. Necros, I sure hope your packaging gets updated when you need to order more. With the pics on the front of these boxes, I'd have never bought them off of the shelf - they don't do the models justice.

Sorry you haven't gotten your order yet. I'm not sure what the issue could have been. But, you should send an email to warehouse@gamesalute.com and they should be able to sort it out. Include your name and address, your pledge level and what you ordered, and also your kickstarter user name too. And yes also check your spam folder and add their email to your address book too just in case. I thought the only ones left were the pro painted gangs, and I personally sent those out myself on saturday and monday.

I agree about the boxes. I had to paint those figures myself, because we didn't have time to wait around even longer for pro painters. Once we run out of boxes we'll be doing them in a different format too, but for now it is what it is

Damn pro painters!!! I will say great models that paint up easily which in my eyes is always a plus.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Honestly, the paint job is only part of the problem. There's a focus problem on the pics, too.
I mean, don't get me wrong... the paint jobs don't help. LOL - Don't take that the wrong way, BTW. If you remember, I had no intention of supporting the initial KS because my group only plays 40K... you and your models convinced me, however, and I ended up supporting BOTH KS's, talking my group into playing the game, AND one guy in my group just dropped a couple hundred bucks on building kits. So, yeah... LOL... I'm a fan. : ) I just meant that the pain jobs don't "sell" the minis, either.

So, if you don't mind spilling the beans, what's the new format? Since you said it was a new format, rather than new pics, I'm presuming you'll go with an illustration? Maybe the art from the KS? Will the boxes still have pics on them of what the models actually look like?

The new format will be on the new gang boxes.. basically the same as it is now, just vertical instead of horizontal. Some kind of gaming market research says that works best on the store shelf I want to do a model photo on the front since that's what all the other minis companies do, but they'll also be pro-painted with some better scenery. We could do art on the front and minis on the back, but I think models on the front works best for minis.

And then we're going to do 3-man support packs and single hired guns in a smaller box, about the size of a deck of cards but thicker. Decided to do the hired guns all separate going forward because they're more about adding that 1 extra special guy to your gang, not buying 2 guys you don't want just to get the 1 that you do. And the gatling gun will be in a small box too

That sounds cool.
Personally, I prefer the models on the front of the box, so what you're doing is GREAT IMO. I'd much rather see pro painted models on the front than art on the front and unpainted examples on the back.

Very cool.
I'm looking forward to getting my stuff from the second KS, now.
They were coming out in Feb., right? The first week? Tomorrow?
; )

No idea when.. we have till July I'm thinking and hoping it'll be like April/may or so. As usual sculpting is taking a long time. Hoping to have everything sculpted by the end of Feb. Then printing will take a while, so no idea when the new stuff will be ready for retail but I'm hoping for Gencon at the latest.

Planning out some gencon events now. Gonna be doing demos the whole time, also thinking about doing a train robbery event with long & thin board with train tracks down the middle, and like 8-10 people bring their own 5 man gang and whoever is the last one standing wins something.

"The Battle for Blackwater Depot!"
LOL
I can see it now... a huge board with train tracks going straight down the middle, maybe raised up a few inches above the level of the rest of the board. The gangs face off across from each other.

Do you kill the guy across from you, or team up with the people on your side, take out the other side, then fight it out amongst yourselves at the end?

How long do treaties and agreements last? Will you honor your bargain or take out your "friends" as soon as they turn their backs?

The last gang standing has successfully defended/overtaken the depot and, saved (or stolen) the shipment of gold on its' way to Fort Lixx.

Those kinds of battles are always the best. It's how we used to play Chainmail years ago, when it was new, fresh and popular.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to hang out at the train shop with the grumpy old guys so I can find and old timey train to use. I was going to make it a 2'x8' board with a train going straight across dividing the board in half.. or maybe corner to corner to make it interesting. And I'll have the train move something like 6" every game turn. But as the engine moves and enough spaces is behind it we'll add a new car to the back of it, so eventually it will take up a big chunk of space. But if you can aim at someone between the cars or under them then that counts as a heavy cover shot

I was going to suggest that people mostly try and fight the guy across from them.. but maybe teams would work better? And you have to bring your own gang of 5 BWG models and use the pre-made characters. I'll also have a few extras for people that don't have models. Maybe if you bring your own you get extra points?

Sounds fantastic - be sure to have some ladders and open box cars too, so players can get onto and through the train, otherwise the two sides will be too isolated.

You need a gattling gun hidden in a random boxcar for a gang to use of they're willing to take the risk of opening the doors up

Got some new stuff to share... Just got the Pro Paint today for Kurt Wyatt We went with a more traditional color scheme for him instead of the movie's all black look, since that might have come out look kind of dull or boring on a mini.

And we got some new sculpts going.. Here is Jule from the Tranquility Crew by James Van Schaik

And here is Clinton Wales by Brother Vinni

And here is Chiang of the Secret Fist WIP 3D sculpt by Steve Eserin. Might be a few tweaks to him, we might have to make the elbows be a the joint so he can cast properly so he might get some kind of elbow pads, or halfy sleeves on his shirt.

The pics are all in the dakka gallery, so you can click them for bigger versions

That would be hilarious.

I think rules for jumping on the train would be awesome. I can just picture gangs fighting ON the train.

Be cool to have a gang or 2 protecting the train too (so its cops vs robbers). But they wouldn't be able to move around really as they are already going to be moving every turn as the train goes
