The general scale of all the other collossals. This one is by far the most squat. A marine comes up just below the crotch on a stormwall.

I wish there was a 28mm or so infantry model in there for scale!

The top of a space marine most likely is at the top of the little truck ring on it's pelvis.

Ask and you get told to go google it. But I'm feeling generious today. The small guy on the right is a standard 28mm guy. Pretty much the same size as a SM.

Since we don't have a picture of it based, too early to tell. Should be roughly the same size as the Judicator though.

I painted my Mountain King without using an Airbrush, and yeah it's a challenge, but it's not worse than painting a couple of 50mm based models... Granted I'm not a great painter by any respect, so I didn't spent hours blending the skin...

I paint 10-12" anime resin figures with a brush. Its hella fun. It does take practice and a lot of paint but damn the results are just so satisfying when your done and the figure looks awesome.

The merc one in CAD is a lot more squat.

Really looking forward to getting my mitts on the Judicator. I'm a horrible painter but it's such a handsome model it should look good no matter how much I ruin it.

Gonna be fun to field too. pSevvy and eFeora seem the obvious choices. I love how efficient it looks to be, it can put a fair amount of firepower downrange without eating focus. Even a fair chance at direct hits on heavies other than against the more slippery factions.

Put this next to a dreadknight and wonder why people say GW has the best models in the business. I love this thing. The 3d rotation gives it a great sense of dimensionality, it looks even better in 3d.

Keep in mind that the main group that says that is GW staff. Sure, others do to, but not nearly as many.

Gives it a bit of style, though. If every model in the line had that kind of pose, it'd be a problem, but one in a while...

Not being really into Warmachine: do players regualrly field groups of models like these, or are they mostly solos?

Admittedly,t hat's PP's art style for much of the Iron Kingdoms artwork.

That is the trick with art, finding the fine line between enough exaggeration and too much exaggeration which can change a piece of art into a cartoon.
In general, PP plays closer to that line than GW does, but seems to have a little more deliberate control, even if the odd piece strays over the line.

GW seems pretty unpredictable. The Dark Vengeance box set Chaos figures were very good (IMO), but the dinobots and dragon seem to have gone off into cartoon/toy territory as well as straying into PP territory with big shoulder pads/tiny legs. I will be looking for other options...

Forge World, on the other hand, seems to have a good grip on not straying too far into cartoon territory.

Back on topic, I think the exhaust stacks on the Judicator could be reversed right to left so that the tallest stack is to the front rather than to the rear. Might flow a bit better with the missile launchers.

The Colossals are actually pretty poseable (barring the Kraken), with more ball joints than the plastic kits. The default pose it a bit meh on the Judicator, but I expect to see a lot of creative posing once they start hitting the painting boards.

You won't ever really see more than one or two Colossals on the field, and if you do see more than one they're virtually always nearly the entire army. At roughly 18 points a pop, you're filling most of a 35 point list, even with free jack points from your Warcaster.

The Mountain King on the other hand isn't as easily to pose

An unfortunate side effect of organic sculpts, really. It's easy to make a robot look natural in different poses, but when you can see how muscles are supposed to work...

Are any hordes beasts pose able? I guess the Circle constructs, but those are rock robots. The only pose able beast in my faction is the Ironback Spitter, which is such because it has a shell obscuring it's joints.

The plastic dire troll kit is pretty poseable, but again you have to deal with the "muscle" structure.

Spoiler:

as something a little more military and less nautical for Magnus.

While it doesn't have the grabber arm and has less visible firepower, bonuses include it being a limited edition piece that's the same size but 1/3 as expensive, being able to make sound effects and move the swively bits, and the fellow who produces them being a really nice guy.

The raw might of a naval ironhull now walks the lands as the Galleon. The colossal fires a rolling broadside before reaching out with its enormous cargo claw to toss warjacks like rag dolls. It can also use its massive trident to reel in foes and finish them off at close range with a series of punishing blows. The Galleon commands a high price, but for those mercenaries who have the fortune to spend, it fights as a symbol of unquestionable affluence and might.

I'm not sure if the Galleon was meant to go underwater.

It has a dive helmet and a triton harpoon. But, just going by the smokestack, I would have to agree that it ... well, can't go underwater.

Maybe there's a one-way valve? Does the entry in Colossals say anything about it?
