Quick update.
The PDFs of the book and cards were completed early last week and sent off to be hosted for download, and sent out to the backers. I have been in the US for a work trip since then so haven't been online much.
I'm chasing up when this is going to happen at the moment, and as soon as they are available I will post here.
Sorry for the delay.
Mike
So it's CMoN hands now - they need to host it and post it as a KS update.

I just downloaded the cards and the rulebook. Holy crap, that's going to take alot of ink/money to print out.....
Just glancing at the rulebook and cards, is there any way to actually tell what has been changed other than by pure side-by-side comparisons? I know that at first look in the book, some things I found before, like Scenario 4 are still broken, and don't look to have been changed at all- it looks like the Vanguard player can still win by not killing all the strain models in the first wave, so as to stop the Strain player from being able to spawn more to overwhelm them.

I am pleased by this.....
Based on all your feedback today, we've taken the decision together with CMoN to send all our backers the updated cards together with the wave 2 shipments; this will save you printing out an essential component for gameplay. Hope that helps and please give us feedback on the revisions - best place to do it would be over at the studiomcvey.com Sedition Wars forums.
- mike
The right decision IMO. Fair play.

yeah,
I commented as such on the KS. I'm glad they listened and I'm very happy about the new cards.
The new cards I felt were a must have.
However I honestly don't see the point in printing the new PDF while its full of mistakes.
I think CMON / SMV need to get some community play testing done.
update the PDF. playtest some more... then print the new rules.
Panic...

Sorry in advance for a silly question here, but I'm a little behind the curve on this KS.
Sooo does anyone know what happened to the LE Kara Black shippmeant within the UK, because I never got mine, is it still delayed?

It's a good start, and a worthwhile gesture. I still want a working rulebook though, before I give them any more money. My cynical side views the fact that they're now going to be sending out cards as de facto confirmation that they will be Kickstarting their expansion(s) - damage control.

The 'expansions' will be standalone, I believe. If so, they will, no doubt, contain full rulebooks with the revised rules.
So... uhh... buy the new expansion, guys!

Thanks for doing that list, really helped to show the changes.
Most of the rules changes seem good, but the changes to the cards make me concerned they may have done a little too much to nerf the Vanguard. I had only played 3 games of the original rules, and the Vanguard did seem to have an overall easier time of winning, but the changes sound to me like they go too far in weakening the Vanguard and strengthening the Strain. I'll have to see how it goes when playing with the new rules, I guess.

Painting Within the Lines
|
I've only briefly surveyed the new rules, but I think I like the reset thematically. My initial reaction was that the nerf/buff ratio was too strongly tilted toward the Strain, but I'm reconsidering after having read a bit on the SMV forums.
SMV has marketed the game all along as one designed around the "survival horror" theme, but I think the first ruleset missed that mark by a long shot. It was relatively balanced between Strain and Vanguard in the way that most TT miniatures games are balanced - i.e. two opponents select forces that are equally matched and play their game. But that doesn't fit with the "survival horror" theme.
If that's the target, then the Vanguard should feel threatened and cornered at every turn, and should have to scramble like mad to make it out alive... In fact, the ultimate narrative of the campaign is that the Vanguard are unprepared and inexperienced with the Strain as an enemy and end up failing to contain the outbreak. As it stands, for this specific boardgame within the Sedition Wars universe you can make a solid argument that balancing forces is of a secondary concern.
One of the BBG guys who helped work on the rules specifically mentioned that Mike and Rob wanted to stay true to their original theme in one of the threads on the SMV forum and that's what got me to reconsider my initial negative reaction. In the first version of the rules, the Vanguard seemed like badasses with an answer for everything the Strain could throw at them, but now they actually seem like they're the protagonist in a sci-fi horror story.
Anyway, just a little food for thought.

Blood Angel Chapter Master with Wings
|
I am disappointed to hear about the troubles this game is having, mostly as I wanted to see Mike really blow it out of the water. I had issues with my box, misprints for the most part. I have to be honest though I gave it away to a friend as I realized I really don't have the time and energy to invest in another game, 40k and x-wing are pretty much my limit at the moment barring something particularly irresistible coming along.
It really just sounds, sadly, like they really overstretched themselves commitment wise... victims of their own success and all that. It should be a touchstone point of reference for both customers and other companies when looking into KS projects.

Hi guys
I'll have a production update coming soon, I'm just trying to get some definite answers from the factory. The miniatures haven't shipped from there yet though, so needless to say they are going to be later than I was told.
I'm going to send out an official update as son as I know, and it will contain pictures of all the painted wave 2 miniatures, just compiling them now.
more news soon

Yeah. I spent more on Zombicide Season 2 than I did on Season 1, and I don't regret it at all. Everyone thought I was mad for throwing my lot in behind Rivet Wars. No regrets there either.

^This. TBH I'll probably ebay the lot once it all arrives and recover what I can. With Deadzone, Loka, KD:Monster and Myth Mercs on the way (on top of other games I already own), and possibly Cthulhu Wars too I just can't see it doing anything other than gathering dust now.

Same boat as many above. I barely remember that I pledged for this. I've got around 20 of the human troopers base coated and I'll eventually paint more but this all took way to long. It's one of the reasons I simply don't back to many miniature heavy KS's anymore. My plans when I back are there but the interest generally isn't by the time we get through all the delays.

To use a sport analogy, Sedition Wars reminds me of the Bills in Super Bowl XXV.
Favorited to win.
Should have won.
Botched it with a failed 47 yard kick at the end of the game.
They made it to the super bowl, but lost it.

I'm still satisfied enough. I paid for the models and got a sub-par game tacked on. I got everything I paid for at a quality beyond what is normal for this price. They're sending me a 'fixed' set of cards with Wave 2? I really don't care. I got Studio McVey designed models at about 10% of the price for a negligibly lesser quality material all with a bunch of cardboard that I won't really use unless a friend bugs me about it. The minis that'll be the centerpieces are already promised to be in resin and will come sometime.
Surely I can't be the only one that only got this for the models.
The delay is an annoyance, but there is really no reason I need to have it now. If it had come at the end of the month, I'd have scheduled it after my Eldar were done and ready. Instead, I'll have to schedule my Aleph afterwards instead. No big deal. I'll blame it on Studio McVey's inexperience; it's certainly not malice. I'm no pushover, but I'm simply satisfied enough for the time being; I'm going to get my stuff eventually.
If you pardon the meme:
What does annoy me is the lack of communication. McVey doesn't need to wait until an official announcement for everything. Just give us a damn update every so often.
Inexperience and incompetence is forgivable, but we're bordering on negligence here.

Actually, if you ordered through the Kickstarter, I suspect you do NOT have everything you paid for. I know I sure as heck do not.
I concur with the lack of Comms. That annoys me greatly. More annoying is the official forums which are filled with folks who berate you for wanting an update and very heavily moderated for the worse.
