Chris, I did suggest it there.

Also, Brookhurst Hobbies also has the Bones models in stock, but they seem to be selling them pretty well. They haven't complained at all. In fact, I think the KS actually boosted their sales of Reaper product just by generating interest.

Yeah, it effectivley added a lot of potentially well selling, low price point items that make great impulse buys. The stores potentially lost out on some initial sales, but the huge number of new releases assures that they can make it up in volume quicker than the previous release schedule of like 5 per year.

I was going to say the same thing- particularly for shops / brick and mortar FLGS, the low cost of Bones make them easy purchases for customers and also makes it easier to buy at retail, since just buying one Bones model at retail is cheaper than buying it at a discount and having it shipped, most likely.

It's also a fantastic gateway to the hobby, because it doesn't involve a lot of tools (no primer, files, or superglue).

A shop can sell a few paints and a few bones. Or if they have open painting, just a mini!

Reaper could really do with some better non-US distribution, there's almost nowhere in the UK that sells their stuff.

Heck, someplace in the EU that Reaper could ship off a container would be good - both the USPS and UPS fell flat on getting stuff to the Rest of the World.

Not to speculate too loudly or wildly...but Hasslefree (Kevin, Sally and the kids) were flown out for ReaperCon this past year...they happen to be a not insignificant retailer/manufacturer in the UK. It could be that Ed is kicking around a partnership with a company like that who have kindered outlooks towards miniatures and their customers.

Granted, it could have just been because they wanted to hang out for a bit...but $6000 or so on airline tickets as well as hotel and what not...

Note, that is just wild speculation and I have not specifically heard anything relating to that. However, back in the day that is how they teamed up with RAFM in Canada and how Citadel teamed up with Ral Partha.

Would be cool to see those two working together (I imagine reaper in that case might stock hasslefree stuff). But on the other hand I would miss the British candy with every order.

That would be grand - and likely good for both companies.

The Auld Grump, then eventually a Kickstarter to get Hasslefree a PVC molding machine....

Spoiler:

I like that - keep it updated!

Here's some non-KS bones I did recently.

I'll get pics up of the one or two KS Bones I've finished so far, soonish.

Here's pretty much everything I did and updated a bit.

I don't have any non-bones stuff up other than a Sophie model and some 54mm stuff (which I think is in my PLog), but my bones stuff starts here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/300/253077.page#5933734

Got my Bones today!

Looks like nothing's broken, but I'm missing some. The "deep ones" at least, I'll have to check with the full list in hand to see if anything else is missing.

Still a bit peeved, but seeing full retail prices for the stuff has cheered me up. The huge bone dragon is RRP $75, a bit over $50 from discounters, and we backers got it for, what was it, $25?

Yay! Just received mine (Perth, Western Australia).
Unfortunately I'm at work so I can't pull everything out and check what is or isn't there. I can see Kaladrax, Cthulu...

It seems like my lucky day or maybe someone at Reaper saw my post a few pages back because I've got a free Wyrmgear in my box! Yay! Now just to make sure everything else made it. 2 1/2 hours left before I can

...and at least that again to check your entire vamp level.
Seems all I'm missing is two models from the vanp box. Not too shabby. Of course i was just, and i really mean just, outside the last 100 backers so no free dragon for me :(
Kaladrax is for sale right away, that thing is too fething big for actual use. Cool to play around with for a minute, though

I think the best use for Kaladrax is making some cool diorama and donating it to your FLGS to promote the Bones line.

Donating? Displaying, maybe. Not donating.

Indeed - I certainly plan on waiting until I have plenty of free time and have painted up most of the rest of the bones (so, about 20 years? ) and chopping and pinning the hell out of Kal to make it look far more dynamic and dangerous, as well as work in some more scenery.

Agreed though, I like helping the local FLGS out but if you want to run a commercial venue, getting donations is right out IMO. Especially from me.

You better be trolling!

It's true that we didn't have all that social Darwinism crap beaten into us like the western bloc did, however.

Just a follow up about that mispackaged Bones Large Earth Elemental. I sent them an email advising them that it was missing the one arm on 30-Aug and they got back to me the same day and after providing some more info they got to fixing the issue by sending me a correctly packaged blister of the whole model! It arrived yesterday, less than a week after the initial email was sent.

Very satisfied customer

I dunno if not liking the idea of giving a large expensive model that you've put time and effort into turning into a diorama to a place that sells you things is exactly social Darwinism, though.

What?

Has anyone else received replacement parts? Maybe I should just email them again...

I emailed them again about missing parts, but have yet to hear anything back after a day or two.

I'm still going through my models. The only one I have an issue with so far is "Zalash, Dark Elf Assassin" - he appears to have no face, just a big hole where his face should be

Maybe I just have a better FLGS

Giving a $10 model that I have no room for anyway to a place that lets me hang out 6 days a week and sells me gaming stuff for cheaper than most online discounters doesn't sound like a bad deal to me

I'm with you, blackfang- donate all you want

Heck, I just donated a few hundred bucks worth of foam kickstarter terrain to my local store... it's pretty common to donate to where you play to make the gaming environment better, at least around here!

(Note: there's no way I had room for that terrain in my house, anyway... it's a bit easy to get too much stuff via KS sometimes . Not that any of you Reaper Bones backers can relate to that, of course! )

Oh no... I checked through all my models to make sure they were all there... didn't think I needed to check for bubbles as well.
In terms of everything accounted for? The only model I'm missing is... Nethyrmaul; I got wyrmgear instead. Or, in addition to

They do seem to have had problems with Nethyrmaul. Mine was missing as well and other people have posted the same problem.

With the exception of a handful of figures which didnt translate well into Bones that ended up with messed up faces and what not, I think it is less about a specific figure having problems and more about probabilities.

Even at a pretty good accuracy rate of say 99%, that will still leave two mistakes per order (on a per figure basis) if you just got the Vampire and no extras. A lot of orders were dead on accurate (mine and all the people I know personally were). With several million miniatures going out to several thousand customers, I am sure if you tallied the various packing goofs up, they would be spread out across the board.
