I thought preorder started today thats what I heard at my FLGS.

Thing is that noone I work with is in to it, so I don't have a public outlet! I love you Dakka!

Not really worried about getting my order in seeing as my FLGS owner is a buddy and already has my preorder down and ready to go. I just really wanna go to the GW site and ogle the figures for the next week.

Driving to GW in the morning to pre-order a set, so excited! Gonna get 2 squads of those DW termies and convert a little and have a DW set of counters for my 2009 Space Hulk!

Heres hoping those Cultists will become available separately- they are perfect for games of Dark Heresy!

eBay sellers will definitley break up the sets. I highly recommend Black Dagger Games. They handle shipping to countries outside of the US really well.

So what is the outlook for new Chaos troops? Just CSM and Cultists, unless you buy Kharn or Typhus or something? Or will god-specific marines, namely Berserkers, still troops? I really don't want to field Cultists unless I have to.

As a Word Bearers fan the idea of Cultists makes me very happy!

IIRC, cult units would become troops when the Lord was given the appropriate mark. So a khorne lord would unlock KB's as troops.

edit: Oh speaking of word bearers, was the dark apostle supposed to be an upgrade for cultists? Can't remember that one.

Hehe yeah I can see how cultists arent everyones cup of tea, for me they work fine as I want my warband to have recruits that if they want to make a name for themselves, they must take whatever weapons and armour they can find and prove their worth in the name of the blood god.

You have to remember that those sellers are stores, so they get about a 45% discount from the msrp. This gives a lot of wiggle room for pricing to still make money.

Looks like there will be a hefty margin on the new set if they get what they are asking. About $200 if you buy the models all seperate from spikey bits, probably another $25 for the book, and $10 or so for the templates/dice/sticks.

I actually didn't realize some pre-orders were already up online a few days early. Looks like Spikeybits is already out of the special edition, and a handful of current ebay sellers are offering them without much if any savings over GW retail pricing, since some are tacking on pretty exorbitant shipping (and I'd receive them long after GW would likely get it to me). Anyone else have any online retail suggestions for that 20% discount? I know technically GW discourages it, but just looking for a few more options.

The special Chaplain is only available ( for the foreseeable future) in the limited edition versions of this boxset. Once they've gone... so has the model.

One would imagine that there will be some of these versions for sale in the stores, but they'll be the ones that people go for first IMO. So if you do want the model then you're best off putting in a pre-order ASAP.

Exactly. If you have any cultists alive at the end of the game, not only are you playing them wrong, but you also hate 40k fluff, kittens, and beer.

For the person asking about buying cultists seperate there will be loads of people selling them I am planning on buying 2 sets just for the marines and getting rid of the chaos, think I am trading both lots of choas for more marines!, good starting army and will use them as allies for my planned 30k Raven guards. The cultists have by far been the most requested units in the chaos lot

As i read it,the chaplain has been cast in limited numbers and every box will have one in until they had no more chaplain mini's left to go in the boxes.

I hope to get to my flgs to get a box with him in it.
