In this battle, Reecius and Raw Dogger play a friendly game in Raw Dogger’s first outing with Chaos. We also experiment with some units and try some stuff out.

Enjoy!

Well... It wasn't exciting but... I don't know what hehe

I dare the users on dakkadakka to post a battle report at 1500+ points where Chaos Space Marines win, I've read about 10 battle reports now and Chaos Space Marines lost them all horribly.

I liked the idea to put two models on a single base to represent an Obliterator.

How did the Orks get into close combat with the Obliterators? I thought that some kind of access were needed.

To me the Chaos Space Marines needed to be characterised as a threat reaching back to the Imperium's past, a threat which had refused to lie down and become part of history. This is in part why the gods of Chaos are less pivotal in Codex Chaos; we felt that the motivations of Chaos Space Marines should remain their own, no matter how debased and vile. Though the corrupted Space Marines of the Traitor Legions make excellent champions for the gods of Chaos, they are not pawns and have their own agendas of vengeance, empire-building vindication or arcane study which gives them purpose.

@Badrukk

Orks are the best! So fun to play, glad you liked it and thanks for the compliment son the Chaos!

@Chaospling

We play all buildings as ruins here, I should have mentioned that.

We've yet to have Chaos win a game unless they are playing against another Chaos list! hahah

I think the book has a lot of potential, just not that excited to play it right now. I am liking my other armies a lot more.

And thanks! I really like my Oblit conversions, too.

Finally get to see the mysterious Night Lords of Reecius and they look good! That was a cleaver conversion of putting two marines on a base and calling them obliterators. I need to get me some lobbas they look like a ton of fun to play.

@y0disisray

Yeah, barrage weapons are too good not to take now. They aren't always useful, but in games where they are useful, they can be game winning. It's just like a Quad gun. I bring one in every list. They aren't always necessary, but when they're good, they are amazingly good.

I think every list needs to have barrage weapons and AA to be a good tournament list in 6th. They are really important tools.

@Skarshak

Thanks!

Wasn't sure if you guys were aware of this because of the way you were talking, but Daemon Weapons that roll a "1" still get to attack. You don't get any bonus attacks, but you do still attack, so he still had a chance at killing the Warboss.

Wouldn't have mattered much, but still important to note.

Ah yeah, I think you guys are correct.

I read it with the old rules still in my head thinking you lost your attacks as the rule doesn't state anything about gaining any, but it doesn't say you lose any, either.

Thanks for pointing that out!

How would you expand this Ork army to 2000 points?

I would add more Lootas and another squad of Big Gunz. The rest of it is solid, gives you everything you need.

The only thing I would consider changing, would be to drop one Trukk squad for a unit of 25 Shoota boyz (about the same cost) for objective duty.

I actually laughed out loud watching that video. Those Boss Poles make for hilarious visuals, not to mention that fleeing Son of Anarchy.

I love your reverse Trukks with the assault ramps. I wouldn't mind getting a closer look at how you modeled that so I can loot that idea for my next Trukk.

@DarkHound

Haha, yeah, we like making funny stories about what's happening on the table top when we play, as I am sure lots of folks do. Makes the games more enjoyable!

@Murrdox

Basically you build the Trukk backwards. Put the bed in the Front with the Ramps at the end, and the engine and cab in the back. I will post some closer pics.

Yeah, Lobbas are excellent! Really, any barrage weapon is great this edition. They are too good not to take, for sniping and such.

And feel free to steal the Oblit idea, I myself stole it off of a Google image I found! Haha

Seriously I don't know why you spit on Chaos like that. I'm a newly 40k player who went in for CSM. I'm the kind of player who analyse a lot his codex before doing a list that is likely to counter my opponent's codex. I've played agaisnt other new players and players with years of experience, most of the time I play 1850 points and so far I played about 10 games. I won ALL, 100%!!!, of those games defeating chaos deamons, space marines, BA, eldars and orks.

BTW, I never played a Nurgle list, I don't like spam lists so I don't spam myself. IMO CSM are a lot polyvalent and don't need to spam a FnP T5 army to win. The key for chaos is to use their ability to be unpredictable to counter their enemies. If I play 2 times against the same opponent, he will be facing 2 completely different lists of CSM.

Sorry for my writing, I'm french and trying the best I can.

I don't mean to be overly critical, and your meta may be different, but it is generally considered bad sportsmanship to tailor your list to someone else's army. Maybe this is more acceptable where you play though.

In principle I agree with what you're saying though, CSM isn't a horrible codex. It mainly suffers from simply not being blatantly broken like most armies are right after they come out.

Most of players I played with knew I am a chaos player and I saw a lot of counters to MEQ and heldrakes. When the game is planned few days in advance, we both prepare ourselves for a pre-determined number of points, usually 1850pts and we only reveal our lists when the game begins. It is not tournaments tho, it is 1v1 games. The only thing I know about my opponent's army is what codex his army uses and his allies if he does have allies, and my opponents knows the same about my army, no1 complained about unfairness so far.

Some times, of course, I just play against some1 who waits for an opponent at my local store and I don't have time to prepare a counter-list (last example is my game against chaos daemons), but I still make a quick list concidering I'll be facing armor 2+, 3+ or 4+ and concidering I'll be facing vehicles, flyers or a swarm.

What is your meta? I would definitively try a different thing if it is more competitive.

Try not to revive threads that have been dead for months. There are more recent chaos reports than can use comments and looks. I mean, the codex had been out for what, 3 weeks at this point? Things said back then were probably said without a weight of experience with the new dex.
