Aye, I do feel a bit of underestimation on kingdom deaths behalf. This could well end up being the right product at the right time but with not enough capacity to cope with demand!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
One thing I do like about this is the deep ocean feel of the game. To me it seems to mirror the hadal zone of the oceans:

The constant lack of light
The kill or be killed theme
The total lack of any resources or plants
The lanterns acting like bioluminescence drawing in other predators
The bizarre and other worldly nature of the creatures

I'm in at $250 + $45 P&P. As much as I want to support Adam and the KD stuff, I was a bit surprised to see the 1 year waiting time for the game. I own a fair share of the limited edition resins already, but have no issue adding some more to the collection.

Really going to enjoy tracking this Kickstarter, lets see whats in store..................

A bit of everything really....... Titanicus, Bolt Action, Cruel Seas, Black Seas, Blood Red Skies, Kingdom Death, Relic Knights, DUST Tactics, Zombicide the lit goes on.............

Any pictures yet? What do the armor kits look like? How does the snap on work?

I need to see more before I pledge.

Also, would love to know definitively if CMoN is involved...

What do you mean: snap on? AFAIK the miniatures are just normal plastic miniatures, if they are snap on, I'm removing my pledge post quick...

Snap on ? Based on the first few plastic releases from Kingdom death - ie Experiment of Death , the optional parts that are supplied are like normal plastic bitz . You choose which ones you want to use and either glue them on or magnetize them as you desire .

That may be the case. I may have misread, but I swear I read that the armor would be swappable somehow.

If not, oh well. Still need more pictures.

Well it is a question to post on the kickstarter anyway just to be sure .

Adam posted a link to a comparison shot of the resin and PVC used on one of his pinups (not in this KS) just t give folk a better idea of what they're looking at

I thought I would miss out on this, but a BF-Survivor slot and a friend who's chipping is let me pledge

Addressing the 'snap on' armour question this is clearly not the case. The image below (from the latest update) shows what is in the Phonix Armour kit

and it shows the multiple bits you'll use to assemble the mini (presuambly resin masters as I don't imagine Adam will have been able to spring for expensive metal moulds yet)

Also a link to an interview with Adam talking about the game & where he wants to go with it (he mentions wanting to get it into distribution by CMON)

That looks like it has similar shrinkage to the Restic that Mantic uses. Wonder if it is the same supplier? Also, I wonder if this will make the figures scale better to other manufacturer's lines?

I definitely misread or misremember then. Thanks for the picture.

Can someone do a screen capture of the White Lion armor kits from the video?

Best way currently to look at the various armors is to watch the vid. He even shows some built with combinations. Pretty darn sweet!

And over 150K already

It looks like the amount of $15/$25 add-ons is going to amount to a lot of extra money in this campaign.

It might not be so easy to say "I'll get 'em all!" in the end.

True, but I am not after the pin-ups anyway.

If this breaks 1000 backers and 200K day 1, it will be insane!

Yeah there is. "King of Death" Pledge at US$ 5.000,- . Gives you every mini they produce, including past runs.

Doesn't seem worth it to me atm. The sum of KD's backlog would be < US $2.000 at "normal prices"; but who knows what they've got planned.

The minis look great and all, but I hope with more stretches reached, we'll get to see more of the mono-pose KD minis that aren't pinups.

Agreed Fafnir... but that would hurt my wallet.

One final $135 Survivor black Friday pledge level opened up, around 75 left! This is the sweet spot for stretch goals.

See, it'll hurt your wallet more, but in the long run, it makes that absurd shipping price much more tolerable for me.

I really, truly do hope that he can manage to save on the shipping, at least for Canada. At this rate, it would almost cost me less to drive down to the border and pick it up from there.

So... are their figs the usual 28-30mm kind, or are they more like 54mm or something like that? I thought I remembered that they did bigger figs, but maybe that was just special stuff...

they're 'slightly' oversized for general 28mm heroic use, though not to the point of being completely out of place. it's not dystopian legions level bad by far, to give you an idea.

Though some are bigger than others - for example, I've heard that the Flower Knight is a bit on the larger size.

Yeah, the Flower Knight is pretty big, but it's distinctly non-human in the first place. It's also incredibly beautiful.

Just backed at the Survivor level. I'm a little put off by the delivery date being a year from now, but at least I have a month and a half to change my mind.

As Fafnir said, I believe the flower knight is supposed to be some kind of golem or supernatural thingy anyway.

actually the FK scales perfectly with other minis; it's immediately obvious it's *supposed* to be bigger

Adepticon 2011- Mike H. Orks 8th Seed (This was the WTF list of the Final 16)

My gut tells me that Adam is being smart and giving a very conservative delivery date. He could very easily have said the delivery date was May or June and then shortly after the Kickstarter closed turned around and said things would be delayed, like pretty much every other Kickstarter. I'd rather know up front that delivery will be later next year and then be pleasantly surprised if it gets pushed up a month.

It's interesting - I certainly like a lot of the minis in the KS.

But affordability/availability of future, followup products gives me pause.

nice stretch goals, however, like sedition wars, I am not a fan of a stretch goals being get another copy of X!

and add 15 dollars to get this mini!

couldn't we just have bigger stretch goals to get new items rather than smaller ones for minis we already get?

I only have a need for so many of the exact mini and can only paint so many duplicate minis.
