It's really easy to do with a color laser printer, the problem is those little support beams are expensive Plastruct, and they are only sold in pairs of 6" beams for like $5

You should cast a set of them to save cash. That price point is definitely a bit steep for a couple of strips of plastic that you are going to cover up 60%.

Bill board is simply amazing. Just perfect.

I feel you on the price of those particular plastics. But they fit so perfect don't they. I wonder about trying to manufacture something, but it would probably cost more, and take a ridiculous amount of time.

Dear dsteingrass,

Thankyou for providing such wonderful models to inspire us.

I wonder if I might ask some advice?
I have a project which I am about to start which will rely heavily on posters and billboards. You mention that you need to user a laser printer ( i imagine because of problems with ink running), my question is whether you then seal the posters with anything? Watered PVA? matt varnish? I am I must confess, slightly concerned about the durability of anything I might produce.

Thanks Guern! No problem! It's really easy. I don't think the printer matters as long as it gives an unpixellated image in the right scale. Typical Inkjet lines won't do, but if your printer is better, go right ahead! Once printed, I start to rip and tear the paper. Once it is ready, I just thin down some PVA glue to attach it to the plastic. I also paint this thinned pva onto the top of the paper, folding down any corners into fun hanging poses. The PVA works both as a glue and a sealant in one shot.

I'm afraid my old well-used SD card for the camera finally took a gak, so no photos until I can get that replaced. If I use my phone, the pics might make it to photobucket by next thursday at best
