If you did 15mm Iron Core stuff would the infantry be metal or plastic?

Because after working with plastic and metal infantry for Flames of War I've found that I vastly prefer metal for better detail and the fact that it stands up to being handled. Plastic tends to break fairly easily (especially rifles) at that scale sadly.

For vehicles and stuff like that tough plastic is awesome. A 15mm version of that APC for example would be amazing.

Heck... I have a whole city of 10mm buildings, in a cinch, I'm sure I could survive imagining those 15mm leviathans and potential vehicles as being bigger than they are. Oh frabjous day.

Hello, just wondering the status of the M7 Paladin? I am making a DKOK army, and painting it up ww2 german style, and the Imp Guard is supposedly releasing a knight paladin! Dreamfotges is way more ww1/2ish steampunky and would work better for a Krieg army....

I'd likely put the M7 in the not any time soon bucket. I'd guess you wont see it till some time next year. Mark still has wave 3 stuff to make it through, then the OPFOR, then the actual game

OTOH, it would be a nice kitbash of Destroid Archers and Tomahawks (or whatever their name is dependent on where you are. #youknowwhatimtalkingabout)

If they do one of those, I'll absolutely add a few to my own DKoK.

Realistically, that's a couple of years at least. The current project has been "in production" for 18 months now, not counting work Mark did before the KS launched. (which I'm sure he's also doing now on the Shadowkesh)

Just thought I'd drop a quick post to say "hi". Once upon a time I was a Dakka regular, but other things have been demanding my attention of late. However, it's great to see such enthusiasm for Mark's vision for Iron Core. I'm trying very hard to make sure that my game design lives up to that vision.

Although I did say that alpha access would be granted to anyone who sent painted pics of Dreamforge products in for me to post on the design blog. It won't, however, be exclusively reserved for these. I have a wide circle of interested parties who will be invited to participate in the alpha testing. Obviously, the emphasis will be upon limiting alpha access to people who's interest and commitment can be reasonably established, though. So just waving and saying "ooh, me me me!" is insufficient.

When the game is alpha-ready, I'll set up the hurdles and you guys can take a run at them if you want. If you don't want, that's fine: you're not who we're looking for in the alpha test, but you can look forward to participating in the open beta.

Right now, I'm working on a loose deadline of "end of April" for Iron Core Alpha, and "end of 2014" for Iron Core beta.

Alpha will mean "rules plus limited forceorgs". Beta will mean "rules plus preliminary army lists for at least three factions". Alpha, therefore, is playable but designed to test the functionality of the rules, not the balance of force. Beta is to test the balance of force.

I won't be posting on Dakka or other forums about Iron Core often, because I'd rather have a single point of information. If you have questions, suggestions or criticisms of what limited information we've so far given out, please feel free to post them as replies to the blog and I'll do the occasional FAQ. Your questions and criticisms are bound to send me back to the rules to see the things I've not noticed or forgotten, so are very welcome.

I figure the Valks will be like S.O.B in my units, just snip a point or so for no faith points, just IG in really good armor! Trained in Power armor use until rules come out for the Iron Core Game.

Also adaptable as a special type of troops for other games, including playing for a certain tech grabbing brotherhood in a Nuclear Sandlot or so?

Mark, is there any plans on an Asian army, cause I posted this over in my p&m blog.

So for the leviathan mortis all this anime talk had me thinking, how's about giving him some swords, elegant Japanese katanas?

I've had a copy of samurai swords sitting around for so long, never played it, got it for the swords but they were too big....until now.

So I can do samurai style

Or wolverine. You know the Japanese samurai born in Canada, played by an Austrailian for an American pop culture, who acts like a Sicilian smokes like a Cuban and drinks like an Irishman. Who have I not stereotyped yet?

Problem is the game came with 5 swords, not six, so either try and find another sword, build it from plastic card .....

Or do the wolverine intimidation with the other hand.

Or just go messed up American action movie wannabe.

I haven't quite decided which varian to use, but I think I'll need to order another one to make a matching pair, sorry

Those leviathans look awesome! And I am shamed that mine remain mostly unassembled and unpainted and even when they are painted will look no where near that nice.

It's proving to be a dickens to clear out the way to the modelling bench in the wake of a few KS shipments showing up, though I'm closer today than I was yesterday!

And on the way to be sigged . Honestly I fell asleep more because I had put in major overtime, but the fact I got it from redbox and I was skipping sections didn't help either. I will give it another shot, I think it's on Netflix now.

Which homage? The bird on the Mortis's chest or the Crusader's Crimson Typhoon paint job?

Or something else?

Thought I saw it on Netflix, but no joy, I'll have to try and track it down in the redbox again.
