The AB-9000 Hellbadger is the premier armoured dropship for today’s budget-conscious military or corporation. I like the warp portal, but I guess it's not intended for actual sale?
I just might have to get some of those nano or circuit wall sheets to make my own Necron Monolith (I use the original 2nd Edition Necron models, so the current monolith doesn't quite fit the aesthetic).

Man, I really want those Dwarven Halls! I need to move house pronto so I have room to store scenery!
Definitely the best take on that sort of thing for the price I have ever seen.
40 euro (ish) plus postage for a square foot's worth of halls is pretty good! I could get a 4 by 4 board for 160... O_O

Oh whao. I love thows Dwarf hulls.
Since they are on 6"x6" squares it means with a few sets you could make a nifty little modular table. And you only need two sets to make a 12x12 board, for 4 to make a 24x24 modular board.
I love it. Like it alot more then the sci-fi coradors for the reason in all honesty.

The Warp Portal was designed as a promotional model to give people an idea of what we could do. We are planning to make a less legally risky version soon that we can actually sell. We would love to accomodate anyone who wants a boardgame-ready version. None of us own a copy of Dwarf King's Hold, so we don't know what the tiles need to be like. What would make our halls compatible with that game?
Or do you mean trying to become an official tie-in product? I think Mantic already has an MDF terrain company they used for Dreadball. Automatically Appended Next Post: kenshin620 wrote:Very nice

Please tell me more. What style of terrain works with Malifaux? Or Dwarf King's Hold for that matter?
We are planning to add some new "skins" to the tower and the Dwarf Hall parts. Just not happening as quickly as we would like.

Someone mentioned paint trays in the other thread. Does he mean army-themed trays? What are you guys looking for in a paint tray?

Your stuff is seriously impressive. I'll probably wait until you have a few more things available then do a bulk order, since postage from the USA is a bit nasty nowadays.
On an unrelated note, it might be worth you guys picking up a copy of each of the three DKH games as well as Project Pandora (and Space Hulk) as they are all excellent miniatures-themed boardgames I am sure you and the team would enjoy. You might even find them inspirational.
At some point later on, you could release some "Dwarven Lord's Crypt themed dungeon tiles" and "generic space ship/station corridor/room tiles".

Malifaux is basically anything from mid-nineteenth to first decade of the 20th century, with either a european or american feel.
I've been scoring a bunch of mdf sheets to act as basic flagstones for a steampunkish city.
I got my order in, by the way, it's waiting for me at home. I damn love my postman who leaves my stuff up two flights of stairs in front of my door, safe from my neighbours' prying hands! I'll take pics and review soonish.

I REALLY like those dwarf halls. Though I have to spend quite alot to build a properly sized hold, or even cover half of a board with it if I wanted a significant amount of the terrain to take place inside the hold. Any plans for large combo packs? Enough to cover a 2'x2' square or so?

Just a quick trio of pictures to show the veritable pile o'stuff you get with the space corridors kit.
The details are plentiful, crisp and everything goes together admirably well. If it seems askew, it's because I haven't glued anything, it's just leaning against each other. Rather than just use them as corridors in and of themselves, I will be using those to spruce up an existing board, so I have more than enough to make that work.
If future stuff matches this quality, they'll make a repeat customer of me.

We will be putting up big bundle deals and combos soon. We are just trying to figure out a way to make it fair for people who have already spent a lot of money on multiples of, say, the Dwarf Hall or the Barricade. We don't want anyone to feel angry that they missed out but we can't really afford to ship out more free stuff too much. Maybe there will be some sort of angry points system...
One of our team has Space Hulk, Dreadball and Sedition Wars, as well as a few Fantasy Flight Games bix boxes. I'm not sure DKH or Pandora are in our budgets at the moment. Does anyone have any sample pictures? We are looking into KOW, too, and the possibility of doing movement trays or wound counters. That would probably be a bit farther off, though.
We are working on an abandoned dungeon version of the Dwarf Halls, as well as some fortifications for evil elves. Time is our biggest constraint right now so it might take a while. Even the laser cutter has a day job.

We do have a few stony textures that might work. It's taking longer than we thought to bring out most of our new products so it might take a while to get to anything steampunkish. Also, there are many companies making historical, Western terrain right now and we are trying to stick to markets that are more open. So it might be a while on anything too Western.
I'm glad you got your order. Thank you for taking so many nice pictures!
@Azazel: We will have to look into it and see if we can make them sturdy enough with MDF. Shipping might be a bit much on such large kits. If we were to make paint trays we would probably give them army-specific shapes and textures. Not sure what else would make them stand out.

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal. |

No worries. I was just using those pics to answer your question. I'm probably not after paint racks from you guys due to shipping and the fact that I can source them locally (and I want the acrylic ones). Scenery is a different matter.
Here's a non-detailed pic of DKH. The games are about $50 each, so not expansive and are actually quite fun to play as well. Descent would possibly be another one to look into, but the DKH/Pandora series have card tiles that are closer to cheap & nasty, so good for replacing with MDF. Descent's ones are much nicer.

I like Mathieu's ideas as well. Stuff like that can be used in modern urban games, pulp games anywhere from the late 1900's through to now, 28mm WW2,(Bolt Action!) even steampunk and 40k - as I don't think buildings need sprockets&cogs or skulls&eagles on them to fit those genres...

No, a distinct lack of those would be a definite plus, in my book. And they don't need to be made of plastic, at all.
And from the pieces I have, I know your level of details is more than enough to make each building interesting.

This is what I'm thinking about.
We do have plans to create some buildings to fit this time period, roughly. However, we are pretty far from making them. It took us nearly a month longer to get our Dwarf halls up and for sale than we expected so I'm hesitant to give out any expected release dates.
We are planning to turn the Dwarf Halls into dungeons. We also have furniture and some small accessories planned. Just can't say when they'll be ready. There is a lot of stuff we have at varying levels of completeness right now but don't have the time to finish properly at the moment. Usually when we design something we create some sketches, prepare a CAD mockup, print some prototypes, figure out why the prototypes aren't fitting right, tweak the designs, try to figure out why the next prototypes aren't working, swear a lot, and so on. We do have day jobs that keep trying to get in the way too. Don't get me started on our families.
Sometimes there is also the need to switch around our scheduled releases a bit in order to strike while the iron is hot. For example our next release, evil elf fortifications, might be 95% done. However, we might decide that we have a pressing need to revisit our designs that complement giant robots or Space Germans, which are only 50% done, so that we can release them while a lot of people still want them...
I guess if I have a point it's that time is a predator that stalks us all our lives. Automatically Appended Next Post: Sgt.Roadkill wrote:I really like this terrain, its really good looking.

Yes. Well, maybe not 4 alone, but we are in the process of putting together bundle deals and combos, as well as tile sets consisting of a number of dwarf floors and corridor set floors. We need to find a good balance for pricing and shipping to work out. Automatically Appended Next Post: Azazelx wrote:I like Mathieu's ideas as well. In the fullness of time, we want to have all of these things covered. Right now, we are prioritizing which sets we work on and release based on what we perceive the demand to be and how untapped we think the particular market is. For example we might make a Chinese fortress/monastary/generic building to test the market since no one else it doing it, but we might wait until after we make stuff for evil elves, giant robots, dropships, and the like because we have a better idea what people are looking for in those areas. Or we hope we do.
Speaking of modern urban games, is it weird that we wanted to make some terrain based on the mall we used to work at? We were thinking "Zombie games or paintball", but now it seems a little weird. Thank you. I have to give credit to Terry. He's the member of the team who really adds the details and makes everything look great. Also, he owns the means of production.
It takes about an hour and a half to burn a Dwarf Hall kit. Kits with more texture take longer. It's faster for the laser to cut out a hole than to burn out an indented section, so it's always tempting to reduce texture and just creatw everything out of layers only, but then it really tends to look like a balsa wood model.
