Anyone else notice CMON Has gone Dark?

IT's been 3 weeks since they told me I'd be refunded in 1-2 weeks. No responses to a single email for 3 weeks now.

They have also disconnected their prior phone number. I'm beginning to get worried CMON is preparing to rip people off en-masse.

...oops how silly of me.

I was finally able to divest myself of my Biohazard + extras Kickstarter pledge.

At a substantial loss to me.

But I'm glad to be rid of it all.

CMON has always been fast and expedient with me, even when everyone else was complaining, they were replying to me within 24 hours. This is the first time I've experienced the 'cold shoulder' from them in this regard. I'm not happy as I was given a deadline of 1-2 weeks to be issued my refund and it's been over 3 weeks now.

I'm guessing they had too many refund requests and now they don't know what to do. Since they've already provided me with a written agreement they are refunding me, it would become a legal matter if they do not especially since I more than proved the destruction of my items to them and god it was fun.

I've been thinking about selling my SW stuff too. I like the models and all (despite some bended pieces) but realistically I'll probably never get around to playing it let alone painting everything. Just too busy.

I just have the biohazard level too ... what's the best way to go? Dakka swap shop? ebay? Am I gonna get anywhere near the $100 I spent?

It depends on what else you ordered?

The base game can be had for $35 to $50 - are the extras worth a lot more to anyone?

Maybe?

You might get your $100 back - but it isn't likely...

I am really curious how they go forward with all the new material.

Despite all the drama that's surrounded this game, I still kind of wish I'd gotten in on it.

If my Deadzone box wasn't due so soon, I'd actually been thinking of pulling all my Sedition War stuff out and giving it a good and proper spin.

One of these days I'm going to track down the terrain pack. That stuff seems like it could get a lot of mileage.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

It doesn't really have the built in resale value that Zombicide Season 1 had...

I really would recommend downloading the updated rules and giving the game a go, I find it to be pretty fun.

I've been looking into getting a few choice pieces from Sedition Wars, but nothing is available commercially.

If anyone wants to part with some stuff, PM me. I'm not looking for anyone to lose money, either, so I won't try to gouge you guys.

What exactly are you looking for, Matthieu?

Also, they never responded to my message asking when the terrain would be available to buy. That terrain is the best thing to come out of SW.

A batch of Vanguard minis. The plasticky ones, maybe one of the iterations of Kara that's not a huge suit. The drones, stuff that could be used for Infinity.

I've opened up 2 of my boxes

1 of which I am only keeping because I want the bases for infinity for.

1 box I quickly assembled in a very half assed fashion as a demo copy for my local game shop.

1 box sold off with extras

1 box with extras still sitting around.

Yay me.

yeah,
Its mostly the SW community self hate that has me unwilling to open the box up again...

I'm still deciding what to do with my biohazzard plus complete set of extras.
Right now sitting on it, resisting the urge to just take the bases and sell the rest.

I'm kinda hoping to see a new edition of the game appear with community winning rules!

Panic...

I've head it said 'Hope is not a method'. I don't think you'll ever see a new version of this game, though eventually the 'Battle for Alabaster' or what ever it is called will probably be released with rules that will work for this as well.

The bases are mighty nice though.

The game's actually basically seen a 3rd edition's worth of changes that's gotten it reasonably balanced and without linguistic oversights, and the new suggested forces have been entertaining than grunt spam (optimized but boring), though it's still kinda' awkward to utilize since those changes haven't been incorporated into the downloadable files yet, so there's a fair amount of cross-referencing.

That's... terrible. I honestly can't think of a worse situation for a self-contained boardgame then having the rules that come with the box not be the rules you ought to use to play the game.

Yeah, ain't a great situation. The first iteration of rules were a little shaky regarding language, but balanced; the second set was rushed and looks that way; the third is pretty solid (better than either others) but the history of the second iteration really hamstrung the game: wish they hadn't felt the need to rush the game and come out with that botched version. Currently the new iteration is pretty close to a complete new set, but I don't know how they'll handle getting it to people once the errata is incorporated.

Not like it's the only modern board game to require heavy errata (looking at you, FFG), but that botched middle one still reflects poorly on the rest.

Nope, but you can just buy the box game for 35 bucks for what? 50 bases?

Less than a buck for a base is a pretty good deal, honestly the bases are one of the best things about this kickstarter other than the terrain pack (which should have contained more cargo crates and less doors).

I have seen people sell the bases separately on ebay, think they were 10 for 5 bucks.

How many Vanguard, specifically and which types? I love most of my Vanguard, but if you happen to want the ones I don't, magic can happen. Kara's assembled already, and you can have my drones when you pry them from my blocked, spasming esophagus. But some of the others are up for grabs.
I do remember how shockingly expensive the shipping turned out to be last time I sent you a package, so this time I'll mash everything into a bubble bag if we do business.

They should have been less arrogant and posted the rules up on BGG to be proofread by those guys. Instead they were evasive and arrogant and slightly douchey - not wanting to "give them away" and look how it all turned out... It wouldn't have helped with the rushed and out of scale expensive add-on figures, but it might have saved the initial boxed set as a product from it's clearance-bin-never-to-be-reprinted fate.

Maybe that new standalone expansion will have what would be considered solid rules.

I've flipped through the KS version rules, and they don't seem that bad. Definitely seen and played with worse.

But yeah, give those rules to the Geek and let them sort it out. If they end up with another KS for the expansions, GIVE THE RULES TO BOARD GAME GEEK FROM DAY MINUS ONE.

My understanding is the fixes changes will never be included in the downloadable rule book and cards, and that a FAQ and Errata are the best we will get. It is almost as if part of the 'fun' is supposed to be researching the newest and latest changes.

I was wondering if I missed out on the updated rules in the second wave, but apparently I need not bother... So no beautiful soul has taken it upon him/herself to do a third edition pdf?

That's a shame. I am honestly looking forward to one day playing this. After I've mustered up enough mental momentum to clean more than a half figure at a time. Painting them seems like fun. One day...

To be fair, you had a lot to send me, and there was mdf terrain in there too. I'm not sure a bubble bag would have survived shipping. But a small number of minis like that, yes, it ought to be fine. Although I've never seen close-ups of the minis, most of them look fun from a cursory glance. Can anyone point me to embiggened pictures?

So from what I gather here, I'm not the only one not to know what's happening. There is a lone pewter mini at one FLGS (guy in exo-suit) gathering dust. The owner swears he'll never re-order.

Wait, is there a third version? I know the first iteration of the rules was crap but I paid a few bucks for a reprinted revised rulebook to replace the one in the game box. So was that version broken too? My group and I were actually going to play it soon...
