Just wanted to say your skills with GS is amazing, and looks like it is developing at a fanatical rate! Just came across your blog today! Love your possessed they are awesome! I agree with the idea of simplifying of your paint pallet. I myself tend to over clutter my models when it comes to painting. Anyways keep the greenstuff work up and soon you might be selling your own minis!

Thanks.

And i have another update of my demon princess for you. The wings still need work and aren't attached. But they are looking nice.

And i can't stop myself from starting more and more projects. I always say that i want to finally finish my older stuff but if it continues like that ... it will take ages. By the way can you see what i have in mind for those.

The princess looks fantastic the mohawk makes her look very brutal and barbaric. I like where the wings are going , are you going to connect up the wing membrane with the torso?

If I was to take a guess at the sculpts I would say either mutulators dragging huge two handed weapons or havoc champions with massive guns.

And as always great work your sculpting is amazing. And may I ask do you use tinfoil to bulk up all of your amatures or is it just the bulkier sculpts you use it for ?

Thanks. And no i won't connect the membrane directly to the torso. There is another joint on the wings behind the back. I might add a bit of membrane around that but what you see from the membrane in the pic is all the wings will get.If i actually can attach the wings i'll make a few better shots but i want to finishe the wings first. I still have to add both sides of the "fingers" of the wings and build/bulk up the "arm".

If I was to take a guess at the sculpts I would say either mutulators dragging huge two handed weapons or havoc champions with massive guns.

They are terminator sized so no havocs. But my initial idea wasn't mutilator also. Like with my noise terminators i planed to create something cool that isn't in the codex: possessed terminator. Should i ever play with them they'd be probably a more melee combat equiped termies.
The poses for the arms aren't final. But my idea for the left one is that he is holding a beaten enemy at the throat pulling him slightly up. The other arm holds a weapon directly at the enemies head. In my initial sketch it was a flamer nuzzle with the flamer half fused with his arm. But i don't know if i stick with that or make some form of assault terminator just on the chaos side.

The other one should have been more of an idle pose. One arm restung on his leg and standing on a ridge or something in search for the next enemy.

And as always great work your sculpting is amazing. And may I ask do you use tinfoil to bulk up all of your amatures or is it just the bulkier sculpts you use it for ?

I use tinfoil only on larger models. Everything above power armor, depending if it actually has some more "blocky" part. I think the only exception was ahriman who has foil as the base of his robe. But i think the foil and the whole setup of those two might be a mistake as i can't make room for regular termiantor heads now. Well they are possessed anyway so i'll probably find a way to work with that.

Thanks.

And i really did make good progress on my sculpting work. I finally started to give Ahriman the finishing touches. His helmet is now in the work and only needs some minor details to get him closer to the original model.

Also i finally had enough skulls assembled to finish the demon princess base. Her wings are also nearly finished. Both sides of the membrane are done and only the wing-arms need some work. As a bonus (and because the wings wouldn't stay up) i added my hand in the picture.

I also made progress on my possessed terminators. But looking at the pictures i have some serious rework to do to fix the torso-shape of the guy on the left... Well maybe i'll mutate his armor some more and use that as an excuse for the misaligned stuff ...Otherwise i have to redo either his entire front or back .... (His front would probably be easier to rework).

The Demon Princess is a masterpiece! Loving the work Doom! The skull base is awesome, are the skulls all moulded or is the base bought and the extra skulls added?

The termies, they look slightly like they are squating? But apart from that I am looking forward to seeing them develop

The base is this one: http://www.shop.microartstudio.com/skulls-bases-round-60mm-p-159.html. I added some skulls from this: http://www.secretweaponminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=47_55&products_id=230 (the white ones)
And i also press-molded and handsculpted the rest. to fill all the gaps.

And i'm not so happy with the terminator poses myself.I even thought on redoing them. But i think it is too late now ... Those bulky terminator armor is really hard to pose ...
And i hope that they'll look better once finished. We'll see. At least the one to the right might look better once based as he is supposed to stand on uneven ground, his left foot higher than his right.

Yay! She is finished. It's quite funny as the basic shape(torso, armature and one leg) of her body is nearly a year old. (But to be fair i left it catching dust for a long time until i actually started to work on it again.

And my terminators also jumped forward. They actually look like terminators now. Or like a terminator variant in case of the one on the right. But still a lot to do.

And those are a little side project i started just for the fun of it and to test how good my skills have become.

And as an experiment i started to sculpt terminator shoulder guards and arms as seperate pieces. But there is still not much to see and so no pictures for you. But if everything works how i imagine it I'll buy some resin and try to cast them.

Well...after I just HAD to go through your whole thread I am now quite late for my bed time and have ingested most likely too many freezies (sugar gives me wacked out dreams) but it's all totally worth it! I can't sculpt GS to save my life - though I've never really tried save to fill gaps and whatnot, though that was challenging enough for me. I thoroughly enjoyed looking at your work (thanks for sharing it btw) and now that my eyes are going wonky I shall bid you good night.

Oh and F.Y.I. Trigun is on Netflix in English if you have it. Hubby tried to make me watch it but I'm just not an anime person.

Have you thought about changing the arm positions to suit the squat legs more? I have no idea what you have in mind for the arms. Like you said, a runined and raised base will alter the positions too, but I was thinking, with a squating leg position you could perhaps have them in more dynmaic poses overall. Perhaps one could have his arm out in front of him angled down towards his feet crushing the life out of someone? or tearing something apart?

My original thoughts were to Spiderman. with his classic pose of squating hand down in front of him. the termi could be stood atop a wrecked base, arm out in front gripping a strut stuck out of the base, that sort of pose.

Congratulations on the complete demon Princess! would be fearsome to see across any battlefield! Would love to see an overall shot of all your converted models so far! a force of grizzly conversions Keep it up

The arm positions are a little bit different in the pictures as i had to bent the wires out of the way to work on details.

This artwork here was the inspiration for one of them and i'll probably do a similar arm pose on him.
http://greyall.deviantart.com/art/Word-Bearers-Argel-Tal-335192729

The other is based on this sketch i did before. But i messed up the leg positions slightly. Maybe you are able to see the enemy in the grip of one hand. So i had a similar idea in mind with a crushed foe in his power fist.

I'll try to make more dynamic poses on my next ones as a plan to do at least 5 possessed terminators. But i'll try to make the other 3 modular with at least the arms seperate pieces, maybe even seperate the legs and torsos

ahaha well in the case of both then I dont think your poses are bad at all yeh the reaching down and crushing a foe will look good i imagine a huge hulking termi would definitely need to squat to reach some poor fool

The only problem ive ever had with putting other races on the bases is when your fighting an enemy that isn't them for me thats always made me shy away.

modular would be cool. Ive been meaning to do that with some of my conversions but have just been too afraid ill eventually get some magnets going though.

Well i also only recently started to put casulties and fallen enemies onto my bases. As i'm more of a modeller and will probably play only very little if at all i decided that it is okay to do so. And also i had the leftover bitz and pieces from my loyalist marines to add to the bases.

I have a few magnetized models. Most of them have magnetized weapons to swap aout special weapons. Also a few of my champions have magnetized arms.
But what i ment with modular in this case is to scratchbuild those parts in a way that i would actually be able to mix and match them with regular terminator parts and also would be able to cast them. It's more of an experiment right now. But if it works out i might even think about casting a few if someone is interested in using them on their own models. But this is still in the future as i still have to get into casting.

So, here is another quick update.

At first my terminator sculpts. I'm in the detailing phase which takes a lot of time. But i need it to be finished before i go on with the arms or i might have a hard time reaching all areas. And i think i need to reduce the bulk on the legs on my next terminator sculpts as they are massive.
Also i'm not sure what crushed foe i should put in the hands of the left one? It must be a more slimer model as there is only limited space between his legs. The options i can think of are tau, eldar, sisters, IG. My current favorites are either sisters or IG as they would fit better with the already added dead space marines on some of the bases on the rest of my models. But i need a cheap model to put there or sculpt it myself. The last option is probably required in the sisters case as they are metal and i donth think that there is a model that would work. What do you think i should do?

And here are the arms and shoulders i was working on the last days. They still need a ton of work. But i ran into a small problem. What weapons should i give them? My initial idea was possessed terminator but as chaos doesn't have a pure melee terminator variant i'm thinking of adding guns on a few arms in different states of mutation. But as i have no playing experience i ask you what would be a decent melee oriented terminator loadout? Or asked differently: What weapons would you love to see on those arms?

Oh what a sad day. What a great loss.
We knew each other for only a few years jet it felt like you where destined to be with me for all eternity.
With you gone a piece or me is missing.
With you gone there will always be a hole in my heart.
You wheren't the best and you had your rough spots but i knew you blindly and you knew me.
I knew each nock and dent you had and that little rough edge from all the time i had dropped you.
Oh you will be missed, missed so dearly.

I'm already feeling the sculpting withdrawal ...

I tried to sculpt with the othe side of my tool but it feels totaly off. I can feel the changed weight and shifted center of gravity. I thought on getting better tools to replace it but now realizing how trained i am in this specific tool i'll probably have to get another one of those just to feel comfortable again.

To fight the withdrawal i grabed a sheet of paper and started sketching. This is the result on looking on werewolf pictures while sketching a chaos terminator:

That's a really cool concept and, at least on paper, looks a lot better than GW's poor excuse fro Mutilators. Sorry about your loss, but love will come again (snicker)

Well the tool isn't that expensive so i'll probably order a new one. Everything that i have that could hold the broken part is either to heavy for my liking or to thick and might be harder to control. But it will work until i have a new tool.

I've set up an armature based on the sketch i did and mushed putty on it. But it will take a long while until i can say if it will work or not. At least it isn't such a static pose most terminators have.
This is also part of the reason i did the sketch: try out different options to pose terminators more dynamicly.

I think the blade of that sculpting tool deserves an honoured place as the weapon of a Chaos Lord, to honour its profound service to the forces of Chaos.

I thought about building a little shrine for it that could be used as an objective maker or scenery. But a weapon ...

A chaos artifact is probably best honours by useing it to mow down imperials than setting it on an altar where it gathers dust.

But if i'd do something like that i have to pose it so that is doesn't turn into a lethal danger for my fingers and other stuff near the model.

Or you could position it in such a way as to cut anyone who tries to touch it, thereby allowing you to scream out "BLOOD OR THE BLOOD GOD!"

In all seriousness though, a chaos artefact would be epic.
